Edit: I sadly disagree about the timeloop. I can't stand it. I could never finish Majora's Mask because of it. OoT, WW, and BoTW were more my speed.

It's not goofed at all man, it's money. I loved playing through Outer Wilds when it first came out and thinking "there's just SO MUCH fun and creativity packed into this unassuming, humble package. What an absolute treat... this feels like.... 'videogames' again". I had that same nostalgic feeling you cited of not knowing what to expect from a game and constantly being surprised and immersed. One of the best games of the last decade, especially for people that primarily want to see studios dare to do something different and make something that players will never forget playing. Glad you enjoyed it too matey. Wicked channel btw; it's 100% going to blow up (moreso). Peace out.

Outer Wilds felt EXACTLY the same as Ocarina of Time for me in terms of exploration/discovery and making me feel smart for realising what the missing dimension of an otherwise impossible puzzle was (time of day, switching timeline, etc.). It's a masterclass in design and "show don't tell"; utterly worthy of the praise and deserving of more than a dedicated cult following.
These days I turn to indie studios as a matter of course anyway so in a sense it's not surprising, but to say that multi-million dollar games don't come close to a tiny space hillbilly archaeologist simulator is a sad indictment of the state of the industry (and a perfect case study of what can happen when you have a talented group of people that care about what they're doing).
This man is making our universe a favour.

I've never heard a more accurate description of this game, I played it for almost 12 hours straight my first playthrough, did you get the achievement for burning marshmallows
HAHAHA yeah dude, I got that achievement immediately. I also got the suicide medal after the elevator to the spaceship landed on my head
Your vids are almost as good as this game! And yeah, that soundtrack and the vibe it creates is incredible. The mood it gave me on the sun station or ash twin core is something I'll remember for a long time. I was worried that there was nothing left to add to the game but then they released Echoes of the Eye DLC and once again they managed to nail that sense of exploration, adventure, and the uncovering of mysteries packed within mysteries packed within mysteries. I hope they can go on forever because this is a seriously great game.

I used mostly Metroid Prime sound effects and realized i have to put SOMETHING Halo in there.. Good ear finding it!
When you talk about the stories happening whether you're there or not it reminded me of the Way of the Samurai games. No time loop but if you take part in an event you miss out on the other events happening at that time and have to play through the game to experience other parts of the story. 1 and 2 were the best in the series imo.
Also Majora's mask is my favorite Zelda game.

You, sir, should play Way of the Samurai for PS2 if you haven't already. Not exactly a timeloop, but a game set in a living world with a short playtime which heavily encourages multiple playthroughs since your actions and placement within the setting heavily influence the story's outcome.

Yes, this game is a rare gem in a sea of rehashed garbage. When I first started to play I was laughing at how goofy and cartoonish it was. I remember thinking, why people recommend this so much, they must be crazy or to dam high, but as I start exploring the wonderment began.
The way you explore and start puzzling things together is unique to each player and suddenly the goofy nature of the game feels so believable, interesting and intense.
This game is like your channel, at first glance looks goofy, but after watching a bit is the most entertaining, underrated content there is.
Plus did I watch a Tool reference? Wow, just wow. 5*
Same man, I saw the character designs and was like "oh brother here we go" but as soon I as I started playing around with the mechanics and started flying it really started to sink in just how amazing this game was. truly one of the most underrated games of the decade. And yeah man, good ol tool can't get enough of that!

Every time I hear any of the Outer Wilds soundtrack I IMMEDIATELY tear up, that is the impact this game had on me and will continue to have for probably the rest of my life.
It's pretty distinguishing you chose to wear not just socks with sandals, but only one sock with sandals. Also that was a solid review. That quality is for bigger channels dude. Stop making us look bad.
