My 1973 Red and White Honda 350 CL twin high mount factory mufflers (Factory Color/Totally Stock everything) would pull 102 miles an hour, Speedo indicated. ??? Those were the days. It hit about 78 to 80 in a marked quarter mile. At 100 MPH it was ten miles an hour exactly for each 1000 RPM. We had some pretty good regular gas in those days. I never ran premium.
No closer than usual, but we had a good tailwind so the clear air allowed me to zoom in closer, and I just had a great day with the tripod👍🏼 Thanks for your patience, mother nature and my day job kept me away from the racing for too long! I still have more runs from Sunday to post, stay tuned😎
@@JohnWylieMedia 👍 I've been watching them for a while now. It's wild to see them build what they dream about and not farm it out to a supplier and just assemble it especially that engine!!! Amazing guys for sure
It's a nice place to camp as well, as long as you're not next door to a race team that'll wake you up at 5am with their engine prep😄 $15 a day, next meet is July14th, then first week of August is Speed Week in Utah at Bonneville 👍🏼
@@JohnWylieMedia I’m personally ok, my truck not so much. If you know of anyone that was filming that day that may have gotten something please have them contact me.
@@JohnWylieMedia Satchler's are usually damn good peices of equipment, I have a clone of one with a Canon XL-H1 on it for local sports - The H1 or H1s would be ideal for what you're doing, with longer zooms then the CX700. Mind you, that camcorder, and it's bigger brothers in Sony's line up, are very good for motorsports.
Your coverage is great! Love the info at the bottom, very helpful!
I figured a bit more work would help, thanks
I agree, these videos are great, thank you for taking the time to share.
Thank you John for devoting all your time to do this for the land speed racing community!
My pleasure!
When I was kid in the 50s friends came here. Glad you still do.
What a great meet and video of it. Thank you very much .beats. driving out there😅thanks again
I love the commenary, then the filming commentary over the top top, with the text on the bottom of the screen, great combo.
Can't beat the sound of a race engine in full singing mode.love it.
It's an outdoor linear dyno.

Your video work is the best from ELMO‼️👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Wow, thanks!
Great video!
Wash my mouth out, but this is way ahead of 4 second fuellers.
Aardema/ Braun sounds like an old school Indy engine at full song 🤟💪

that's our car John always has a response for our runs...
It’s still messes with my head, when you hear a overhead valve engine a lot of that noise is from the valve train.
Check out Greg Quirin's channel, he's their camera guy and shows you everything about that awesome vehicle

@@JohnWylieMedia 🤣😂🤣Right next to a race team is EXACTLY where I'd want to camp. Liv'n the dream. Thanks for the amazing footage. Kiwi NZ
John, I was the last vehicle down course at this event. It ended with me flipping/rolling a few times. Any chance you got video of that?
glad you can leave this comment lol
@@frankE91210 no doubt. I’m the most glad
No sir, sorry. I was in the pits packing up, and wondered what happened as I saw everyone rushing down course! Hope you are ok?

What are you filming with? Footage looks great.
Sony Handycam HDR-CX700, old but still does great, only thing that might be better is for the pro'$. Thanks for watching!
Also, the key ingredient is a Sachler fluid head tripod and years of practice!

What distance are they running??
1.38 miles to the finish line.
Its sounds like they are having trouble getting traction
Everyone has trouble, that is the challenge of Land Speed on dirt and salt. Pavement racers have a totally different challenge, like it or not
J'aime les USA!!!!!!!!
is it 1 mile?
1.38 or 1-mile 3/8ths
@@JohnWylieMedia thank you. I used to ride my dirt bike out on the lake bed back and surrounding areas back in the day.
LOL, thats our daily speed on the german autobahn....
add DIRT
7:01: looks fast enough - but what a CHEATER !! the sidecar passenger is missing !! FELL OFF ??
Funny!
Shot him for drinking water😂😂

Nobody really cares about electric cars or bikes. I want one hear screaming petroleum fueled engines🤗
Now if he was running a Honda 50 cc mini bike at 100 mph that might be interesting 😂
Well there's nothing wrong with different power plants now is there?
@@KSsoundguy Times are a changing. Electric motors will run 400+ like it or not😎
da fahre ich ja mit dem Fahrrad schneller !!
In the dirt? On a dry lake bed? What is your bike number, I'll check to see if I captured your run😄
