After comparing a few I decided on this one before ever seeing this video. It’s so practical and modern it fits my small needs of just charging devices, running low power fan, and outlets for the odd device I need to provide some temporary power to. Enough to get me through a small power outage. Still looking at options for major appliance backup in case of outages. But I don’t have the budget. For now, a cooler and ice is enough.
You don’t say the most important thing: it’s LiFePO4, which means much longer lifespan and safer. You do mention it much later, and you don’t compare it to others like Jackery. People don’t get why it matters.
Yes, I kept hearing him say 1800W; that's not intended for the River 2 displayed in this review which you're correct is 600W. Only the Delta can run at 1800W, and as mentioned by Igor even the River 2 "Pro" model tops out at 1600W. So running a heat gun at 3x the rated power output (which is already boosted for short bursts, otherwise it would be 6x rated power output) - of course it's going to shut off.

That Anker powerbank only supports 10W (2A @ 5V) per port, and 20W over both ports I know because it's the only Anker powerbank with triple USB-A's and dual micro-USB's
I have the EcoFlow River Pro, which also comes with Xboost. All in all I see this Xboost more or less as a emergency option to run higher load devices to some extend (obviously not at full capacity) when there is no other powering option available.
I'd rather seen a folding handle integrated to make a flat top. Technically you have to set it down then lay over it on its feet. Also if you accidentally drop it while carrying its going to take the hit right to its face. Another feature I would have likes to see was internal storage for the AC and DC cords making it into a "grab and go" unit. My solution will be to get a cloth drawstring bag and attach to the handle. Other than that everything else about the unit is as promised and the price was really good.

Considering the Bluetti AC2A lately and it has led me to reconsider this River 2. On Amazon Italy the description seems misleading at best because it claims to have a native inverter of 600w instead of 300w like the recent AC2A, so I’m wondering if that 600w is only through the xboost. Also is the slightly higher capacity of the River2 cancelled out in any way due to idle power losses or when all is said and done it still does better than the AC2A’s 140wh of usable AC? Is the AC2A slightly lighter at least? 🙏❤️😂

The day of judgment is decisive and displays to all the seal of truth. Just as now a father does not send his son, or a son his father, or a master his servant, or a friend his dearest friend, to be ill or sleep or eat or be healed in his stead, 105 so no one shall ever pray for another on that day, neither shall any one lay a burden on another; for then every one shall bear his own righteousness and unrighteousness." .....2 Esdras 7:75 ///////////////
I'm looking for this to charge my 36v trolling motor batteries on my bass boat! I just need the one ac outlet to hookup to my noco PowerBank ...would u recommend this unit?!?
I have told a few people that if they have a Quest 2 or other stand alone VR headset, to get something like this, and make a strap that lest you carry it on your back, and be able to power you Quest for says without it running out of power wile using it. Many who spend hours in something like VRchat, and use a Quest, often enough complain they have run out of juice, and have to log off to charge it. Sad. As is, am planing on getting a Quest 3, my second standalone, to my first, the Gear VR headset. So I should take my own advice and invest in something like this, to power it wile in use.
Bought this primarily for road trips. Charge this from the cigarette lighter and use as a battery backup for an alpicool fridge/freezer that has a cycling 40 watt load. Nothing like ice cream and Death Valley!
I just clicked on the link and it's offering 20% off. Brings it down to $239.00, I'm not sure if you can still add the 8% on top of that, but sounds like a good deal. 11/1/22
I am right in the middle of testing the older river pro on a iceco go 20 mini refrigerator. Set the refrigerator at 33 degrees, ambient temp is 71 degrees. So far it been 10 hours and the river pro is at 90 percent. I tested the bluetti eb3a (same test )but at 37 degrees and it did 17 hours 30 mins which is impressive for such a small capacity. I am stoked for the next iteration of the river pro. They just have to work out the efficiency I just saw on HOBOTECH efficiency is around the mid 70s percentage which is fairly low
@@AdventureGearTV I been doing slight adjustments and looks like 35 degrees is perfect for me. it's been 24 hours and my ecoflow is now at 70 percent. I noticed during the day especially with the sun blaring in the compressor will go off more. It's a cool little test and learning a lot from it.
I have been using my 20 quart setpower fridge freezer with a echoflow river pro 2 strictly on freeze mode at 17 degrees and get 12-14 hrs. I prefreeze 12 bottles and swap out 6 everyday into my coolers. It works great. I use several smaller coolers with odd shapes that fit into limited spaces and it works for me in a dodge caravan and a 60 pd dog. I need every inch. I pre freeze 6 pds of homemade food to use with kibble and use the small freezer for keeping those and bottles frozen with a small amount of other items I can freeze. I also keep a thick throw blanket cover on the freezer avoiding freezer over heating. Which also provides an additional cover if needed.
I brought the Ecoflow River 2 from Best Buy and I think I'm using it wrong. My friend was using it to charge and power his bluetooth speaker and the device kept cutting off. I also tried to use it today with a blow dyer on high speed and it kept cutting off. The device is fully charged. Do I need to add something?

Great review earning my sub. I have two EcoFlow 120W bi-directional solar panels to power my EcoFlow Delta Pro generator. However I need a smaller generator for easier portability to power smaller devices. Question: If I plug in the the two daisy chained solar panels for a total of 220W, will the River 2 shut down or will it just take in the maximum 110 Watts? I want to ensure I don't damage the R2 should I purchase it. Thanks!
Just make sure the voltage is within spec (11-30V), if the amps or wattage is above it’s capacity (8A / 110W), that’s ok. Volts is what you have to watch out for.
I am new and challenged with my solar decision. I would like to put tape down solar on my dodge minivan. I have anew ecoflow river pro 2. Can I use another companies panel (s), as I don’t see a flexible panel with Ecoflow. And if so suggestion of brand an size? Is this the right forum to ask this question? I have larger dog and space is limited.
im really liking this power station but after watching your video im concerned with the 8a on the 12v outlet. i bought another power station and it wont power my paddle board inflator which its 110w altough it says its 10a and 150w. maybe i missed it but did you test the output on the 12v outlet?
i have lion energy solar panels and i just got the river 2 max, my first power station. can anyone link me to an adapter i can use the energy solar panels with this? i believe the river has xt-60 but im not sure what the lion energy solar panels connectors are called.
Truth, m trying to figure out how much power I need m sure at least 1500 to 3000 problem is more watt the heavier they get and more money they cost I have two small jackeries but I need more it’s really compatitive out here
Any solar panel that has the correct voltage. I mostly use a BougeRV panel lately. I don’t recall this device’s voltage rating, but a 12v nominal panel will work.
That’s what I’m buying one for I want to run a space heater in my car when it’s off and draw from the cig lighter when the cars running. I’ll know on Sunday.
Considering between Jackery 300, Ecoflow River 2, Bluetti EB3A and Anker Powerhorse 521. Bluetti seems too heavy (I’m a girl), Ecoflow too loud, don’t fully trust Anker (my small anker powerbank is awesome but had a docking station from them and it was overheating, they couldn’t find a solution). I’m thinking to just go with Jackery 300 which seems smallest and most quiet, even though it supposedly lacks modern functions but I have not seen one bad review on Jackery. I also do like retro look of Jackery and I like that there is no app, I don’t want yet another app for something. The only thing I don’t like is long charging time but that may be safer too.
The Jackery isn’t “bad,” but the newer models have better features. That being said, the Jackery also seems to have less overall issues. So, those are some positive points. The NMC chemistry and low charging wattage are the hindrances.
@@AdventureGearTV Exactly what I’m thinking, fewer features = fewer things that can go wrong. I just want to heat my lunch and tea on a weekend road trip once a month and not having to do this while I’m driving. Otherwise, I’d probably go with Ecoflow for the fast charging, if it looked nicer, but the design with side handle is ugly, can’t get past that.
Check out the new improved Ctechi gt200/200 pro.. it's got a smaller footprint and larger battery than all those you mentioned..plus it's cheaper than jackery, eco flow, etc. and comes with a nice handle. The eco flow is awkward and bulky for such a tiny 256wh battery..you hit the surface with the edge of the unit everytime you put it down as the handle is on one side
Ended up getting Jackery and I’m thrilled. I even overpaid a bit to get Jackery ($240, vs. Ecoflow and Anker were on sale for $180). But I really love the small and light size of the Jackery.
I liked it and was ready to buy then I saw the cable that charges it won't work with my solar panels! I wish they would all get together and use the same plugs...it gets annoying!
Highly doubtful. It may be less “steppy” or “choppy”, but the unit had to meet certain criteria coming out of the gate, or UL. I would be interested to see what the sine wave does looks like, but I would say, unless you’re running something super sensitive, this unit would be fine. I plan on getting at least one for personal use.
Thought i would just comment.. I fully charged my river 2. didnt use it for a week and pulled it out for the first time to use on the go today. powered up said 99%.. then to 0 and wont work. guess ill be returning it
Thanks for the informative video! Does the Ecoflow river 2 (256 Wh) have surge protection? As the light is turned on, the voltage fluctuations are very high. Is it possible for this charging station to be permanently connected to the 220 network in the outlet, and the laptop to be permanently connected to the Ecoflow river 2? Should I buy a voltage relay if it turns out that there is high voltage protection in this charging station?
I want to drive a heating fan in my tent some hours during night time. The heat setting on that one is 1000w.... do I need to get one with 1000w or can you use one with less then that but still use the fan even if the fan would not get as effective? Or do I need to get one exactly 1000w or more?
Yeah just ordered mine today on Amazon and get the 30 dollar Solar cable for free with it as a promotional deal and 80 dollar off coupon off the unit. So $219 for unit and free solar cable. I also have two Blueetti’s the 268 watt new ones. So I should be set now with good units and power. Plus they charge quick.
So for this newbie, who's not a handy man, this is for just a computer & phone aprox? Basically? Im looking to buy something bigger for in a power outage. Im leaning toward ecoflow new delta series. But this is so cheap right now I met get both. What is Jackery compared to this brand? Seems like Ecoflow is like the Apple of the portable generator world. Newest tech with price to match but really nice new features.
Mine was faulty out of box, now they want me to pay to send it back(& still wondering what to do w/ the solar panel & cord I bought separately). Customer service is brutal! I would not recommend anything from EcoFlow after this ordeal. Quality control is crap.
Hello. I am stupid and easily confused. But I have an idea and would like to know if this power station would be able to support it. Instead of using a remote car starter and letting it idle for 10+ minutes before it gets warm, would I be able to run a small 400w space heater and turn it on using a Bluetooth outlet plug? If this can’t run it, could you suggest the cheapest one that could? Appreciate any help.
@@pochantis00 it’s a myth that cars need to be warmed up for several minutes before driving in cold weather. 30 seconds to a min in cold weather is sufficient time for the oil to warm up enough to circulate through the entire motor and lubricate the components. Where I live I’d have to idle the car for at least 10 mins in the winter to get it warm inside. That’s excessive.
@@dlee6985 yeah maybe your car. I drive a muscle car and when it’s cold, I let mine idle until the engine and cabin are warm. If any frost is on the windshield, it needs to be completely melted. I probably wouldn’t warm a Prius
I regret i bought one. I bought it for my tiny house but the fan is so annoying! And it can't be switched off other than pulling the plug to the solar panel.
@@AdventureGearTV ok cool. Going to order one when it goes on sale. If you leave it "on" does it stay on continuously? I was going to use it in my shed as a power source for a light and then put a solar panel on the roof
the Ecoflow River 2 caught my attention but i have the the Bluetti EB3A which has more power so i have no use for it. IMO no one should buy any solar generator with less than 1500 watts. Ive made 3 mistakes so far besides the EB3A, I have the Jackery 240 watts and a 500 watts solar generator. These Solar Generators are pretty much useless to me.
Are you sure it can charge by USB-C? I thought it was output only. If you have a solar panel, you might have a clocked-plug on the AC that switches AC off between 9 am and 15:00 am so solar can do it's work.

99 This is the order of the souls of the righteous, as henceforth is announced; and the aforesaid are the ways of torment which those who would not give heed shall suffer hereafter." 100 I answered and said, "Will time therefore be given to the souls, after they have been separated from the bodies, to see what you have described to me?" 101 He said to me, "They shall have freedom for seven days, so that during these seven days they may see the things of which you have been told, and afterwards they shall be gathered in their habitations."
102 I answered and said, "If I have found favor in thy sight, show further to me, thy servant, whether on the day of judgment the righteous will be able to intercede for the unrighteous or to entreat the Most High for them, 103 fathers for sons or sons for parents, brothers for brothers, relatives for their kinsmen, or friends for those who are most dear." 104 He answered me and said, "Since you have found favor in my sight, I will show you this also. The day of judgment is decisive and displays to all the seal of truth. Just as now a father does not send his son, or a son his father, or a master his servant, or a friend his dearest friend, to be ill or sleep or eat or be healed in his stead, 105 so no one shall ever pray for another on that day, neither shall any one lay a burden on another; for then every one shall bear his own righteousness and unrighteousness." .....2 Esdras 7:75

I'm looking for this to charge my 36v trolling motor batteries on my bass boat! I just need the one ac outlet to hookup to my noco PowerBank ...would u recommend this unit?!?
The fast charging is what got my interest. Charged in an hour? that is crazy fast.
The Allpowers r600 is better, it has faster charging, wireless charging, app, more capacity, more powerful inverter
I got this one because it had a flat top to act as a table in my tent for my phone and head lamp!
Bought this primarily for road trips. Charge this from the cigarette lighter and use as a battery backup for an alpicool fridge/freezer that has a cycling 40 watt load.
Nothing like ice cream and Death Valley!
I would agree that it is by far the best power station. A full charge in one hour is kinda hard to beat.
i would rather have slow charge than fast one. For example a user should be able to set up charging speed. Lithium batteries fires are no joke.
@ LifePO4, are not regular lithium batteries, they’re much safer
You can limit the charging power in the app.
Fast charging should only be used in emergencies as it stresses out and wears the battery quicker
The Allpowers R600 is also fast charge..but with slightly larger battery than the river 2
I just clicked on the link and it's offering 20% off. Brings it down to $239.00, I'm not sure if you can still add the 8% on top of that, but sounds like a good deal. 11/1/22
I am gonna agree that the River 2 is the best power station. 3000 charge cycles will last me about 10 years or more.
Awesome. I prefer to run my fridge at 36F. I read somewhere that it is the perfect temp. What do you think about this?
Did you mean the bluetti dropped to 90% battery after 17 hours? Or did it completely run out?
I'm wondering if it's possible to chain another LIPO battery to it?
Can you use the device to power devices while recharging the unit?
Can i put 160w solar in ecoflow river 2? I dont have ecoflow river 2 pro or max
Can I leave it plugged in all the time so it is constantly charging ? Thanks
You can use it as a ups.
Most hair dryers are going to be way too much wattage for this
A travel hairdryer would work at lower wattage, my higher powered hairdryer cuts off says 'overload '
damn this looks really good for an entry level power station! I might buy it in the near future for small 1-2 day camping trips 😁
Will it charge that Onewheel GT you got there in the background? That is the use case/reason that I'm looking for a power station....
This will give about one full charge to the GT. The GT is a lot of fun. Keep the nose up.
@@AdventureGearTV Awesome dude! soo helpful, thanks so much. lol yessir 🤙
Can this run a projector for a 2.5 hour movie? Nobody ever test this 😢 ill have a car nearby to keep it charging if i need but it would be nice if i didnt need too. It can charge while being used or will it not work while charging?
you'll fry it I think if you use it while charging idk tho
@@amberpeterson7016 It will still work.
It works totally fine to charge while using it. But your question is impossible to answer without knowing the spec of your projector.
@@w2best it worked. I looked for hours and couldnt find how much power my projector uses so i just got it and tried and it was fine. It was an epson 880 home entertainment.
So can i charge and play my bose pro s1 Bluetooth speaker ?????? 150 wattage 160 peak power handling???
im really liking this power station but after watching your video im concerned with the 8a on the 12v outlet. i bought another power station and it wont power my paddle board inflator which its 110w altough it says its 10a and 150w. maybe i missed it but did you test the output on the 12v outlet?
I want to plug in an 800w iron with it. Think it will heat up?
i have lion energy solar panels and i just got the river 2 max, my first power station.
can anyone link me to an adapter i can use the energy solar panels with this?
i believe the river has xt-60 but im not sure what the lion energy solar panels connectors are called.
Truth, m trying to figure out how much power I need m sure at least 1500 to 3000 problem is more watt the heavier they get and more money they cost I have two small jackeries but I need more it’s really compatitive out here
Thanks and great review....Can it be charged with any other solar panels? Or it can only be charged with their own ecoflow solar panel?
thanks
Any solar panel that has the correct voltage. I mostly use a BougeRV panel lately. I don’t recall this device’s voltage rating, but a 12v nominal panel will work.
@@AdventureGearTV Thanks a lot
Can you plug a space heater into it? Maybe not a full power 1500w heater, but maybe a 750-1000w heater?
That’s what I’m buying one for I want to run a space heater in my car when it’s off and draw from the cig lighter when the cars running. I’ll know on Sunday.
@@airyordan6291 Great minds think alike. Keep me posted. Which ones did you get?
@@rainacherienne1010 I like it! You got exactly what you wanted and that’s the most important part.
Can this run a standing fan and for how long?
Do these have a way of linking 2 of them together to increase how many watt hours you have?
Even though it's flat, the instruction book says nothing heavy should be placed ontop of the unit.
Makes sense, I wouldn’t put any too heavy on it.
Will it power a 4 k tv and a internet router and for how long
I wish you would show where and how it plugs in to charge in the back. There doesn't appear to be any port on the back from the amazon images
It’s an xt60i port for DC, and the same kind of port that a computer monitor has for AC.
If I have a laptop that charges at 65w and it takes about 1,5 to 2h to charge, how many charges would I get out of it?
Hello, have it a UPS bypass ?
I liked it and was ready to buy then I saw the cable that charges it won't work with my solar panels! I wish they would all get together and use the same plugs...it gets annoying!
I’m in New York trying to use it to charge my e bike battery. Do you think it’s going to work ??
It’ll be a lot smaller than the e-bike battery, so you might not get one full charge out of this one.
Great video! Can I plug my sump pump into this unit during a power outage?
You can recharge with solar panels right
Yep
yes but what I would want to know is the inverter pure sine wave?
Highly doubtful. It may be less “steppy” or “choppy”, but the unit had to meet certain criteria coming out of the gate, or UL. I would be interested to see what the sine wave does looks like, but I would say, unless you’re running something super sensitive, this unit would be fine. I plan on getting at least one for personal use.
Thought i would just comment.. I fully charged my river 2. didnt use it for a week and pulled it out for the first time to use on the go today. powered up said 99%.. then to 0 and wont work. guess ill be returning it
There is an Ecoflow Delta 2, how does it perform comparing to the River 2?
Thanks for the informative video!
Does the Ecoflow river 2 (256 Wh) have surge protection? As the light is turned on, the voltage fluctuations are very high.
Is it possible for this charging station to be permanently connected to the 220 network in the outlet, and the laptop to be permanently connected to the Ecoflow river 2?
Should I buy a voltage relay if it turns out that there is high voltage protection in this charging station?
It has circuit protection. This model wont work with 220.
@@AdventureGearTV Thank you.
Can this power a full size 1800 w fridge for an hour?
If not, what is one that can do that?
I vex that you can't link it with another device to make it more powerful
I want to drive a heating fan in my tent some hours during night time. The heat setting on that one is 1000w.... do I need to get one with 1000w or can you use one with less then that but still use the fan even if the fan would not get as effective? Or do I need to get one exactly 1000w or more?
You need 1000+ W to run your heating fan.
is it better vs bluetti EB3A?
Both are still working fine now.
Can i run my wifi router full time on this , if i also have solar panels?
The battery might be too small to last over night between recharges.
So, it won't run a regular fridge or freezer?
IT'S SMALL, WEAK. BUY' A MUCH BIGGER MODEL.
This is not the right size for a home fridge freezer, but can run a mini fridge without issues.
@@AdventureGearTV Yeah, I heard you say that, but thanks for responding.
@@AdventureGearTV would you reccomend this for a 40L to 60L IceCo or Dometic Fridge for overlanding?
Just bought one... they're on sale online for $209.
That’s a great price for it!
Hi! Can i connect k7 mini wash on it?
Mine was faulty out of box, now they want me to pay to send it back(& still wondering what to do w/ the solar panel & cord I bought separately). Customer service is brutal! I would not recommend anything from EcoFlow after this ordeal. Quality control is crap.
It's a shame you got a bunk unit
I got one and it seems functional
although I have heard terrible things about their customer service
Can I run a 200w solar panel into it?
Cam this charge a 100 watt laptop and does it have the solar charging if I buy the eco 110 watt panels
Your engine needs to run and be warmed up before driving… not just the inside temp of your car
After 10 years of use how long will the battery last until it completely dies?
nice review! can you tell me if I can connect a Jackery panel and with what cable? Thank you!
It has either an xt60, or xt90 to mc4. I mentioned it in the video, but don’t remember exactly.
@@AdventureGearTV thank you
Cpap this is what I got it for is it ok for that?
A little confused. Charging it with the solar panels can cause the fan to turn on, which in turn will drain the batteries?
It’ll take a lot of power even with solar panels. So, the heat has to be managed.
@@AdventureGearTV so essentially making charging with solar panels useless

I need something for my plants just in case my power goes out.
Is the fan supposed to run all the time when charging?
Did you end up testing the solar panel? When it's plugged in does the fan come on?

At least Ecoflow River 600 and EcoFlow River MAX EF4 were banned in Finland because of dangerous electric insulation.
I had not heard this. Do you have any references for this information?
Thank you, I watched this whole video and couldn't figure out why the uploader claims it should be banned.
It sounds like the fan is pretty noisy. On my EcoFlow River Pro (previous version) the fan is fairly quiet.
The fan does get loud when charging depending on how much power goes into it.

It’s still working perfectly!
Jackery300 can cover my home Wi-Fi ?
the Ecoflow River 2 caught my attention but i have the the Bluetti EB3A which has more power so i have no use for it. IMO no one should buy any solar generator with less than 1500 watts. Ive made 3 mistakes so far besides the EB3A, I have the Jackery 240 watts and a 500 watts solar generator. These Solar Generators are pretty much useless to me.
I actually agree that it’s best to go as big as you can, but it can become too expensive for some.
@@AdventureGearTV for sure
is Bluetti EB3A better than River 2?
@@_NineEleven_ i would say no for simple reason if im not mistaken you can add and extra battery to the River 2 and double its output.
You wouldn't want to lug a 1500 watt generator to a campsite. Different sizes for different usages.
Can I charge this with a delta pro?
Yes, from the AC inverter.
Can it power shop vacuums and power tools
Mine doesn’t charge a thing. Says 99 hours but just turns off
Contact EcoFlow about it.
Are you sure it can charge by USB-C? I thought it was output only.
If you have a solar panel, you might have a clocked-plug on the AC that switches AC off between 9 am and 15:00 am so solar can do it's work.
