And Splatoon looks a lot like Splatoon 2 which came out 2 years apart. Doesn't change the fact that Splatoon 2 was a banger. _On top of that,_ there was a lot added to Splatoon 2 that is nothing like Splatoon. We have seen the City of Color, which looks a lot of different.

@@dartrevas The problem is that this is the 3rd game and the artstyle and engine looks the same. The only thing that looks like it's going to different is the weapons and story mode. The multi-player is probably going to be the same.

Well at least they added new weapons and what I assume are new mechanics. to Splatoon. Plus there might be new modes
you say that like every 2D mario for the past decade wasn't the exact same game. Most of the time they didn't even make new music.
@@Kazoo_man64 and yet they're still as good as ever without making them completely stale like other games. If the gameplay works well then you don't need to completely change it. Also you say that as if they just copy over the same levels and/or only have like 20 new levels, level design is just as important as the mechanics said game, again looking at fifa where it quite literally is the same game every year. 2D Mario is more complex than change X thing and boom, new game. Also we haven't even seen many new 2D mario games anyways. Other than Super Mario maker and SMM2 as well as Mario 35 (which uses old levels in a completely new way, plus is more a spin off than a main line) we haven't really had any 2D mario games since NSMBU and its' remake.
@@MineNAdventurer I very much disagree. Apart from maybe the original DS one, the new super mario bros games just feel soulless and uninspired. rarely bothering to add any meaningful change. Visually, I find them pretty bland. Up until recent years, every mario game had their own identity. Also pretty much every new mario just hands out extra lives like candy. None of them are "bad" games, but I'm rather sick of the overused formula. Although I would be SIGNIFICANTLY more forgiving of all this if they would've AT LEAST had unique music and visual style. But everygame is just, grass, desert, beach, forest, mountain, volcano over and over and over. Games like Odyssey had the decency to put interesting and fun spins on those location tropes.
@@cold-bloodedbeats4139 I doubt that there'll just be a few new weapons. Splatoon 2, which is a game that came only two years after Splatoon was released added 5 different weapons (1 new type and 4 varients) as well as added 1 every or so week or so for the first year aswell as adding new a weapon type aka the brella and many new weapons in those types. Since this game will be taking longer than that (likely 5 years since launch and 3 since the Chaos Vs Order Splatfest: which is likely when they started the full development of this game with likely other devs working on Splatoon 3 even before that with concept designs, story boarding, and features they would like to add being developed and tested taking place even before that) there will very a lot of new weapons and weapon types in this game as well as quite a lot of drip feed content. I'd say at launch maybe 1 to 3 (hopeful guess but unlikely) more weapon types could be added aswell as maybe 1 to 3 new weapons per weapon type, not applying to all of them like how Splatoon 2 didn't add a new splatling, brush, slosher, and shooter. Instead adding only adding 1 to blasters, chargers, & rollers. I mainly say this due to 3 years of minimum developement being much longer than the 1 Splatoon 2 got

My power actually went out too. Right before the Pyra and Mythra announcement (which was my popoff) so I missed that initially but I got a glance at Failboat's live reaction, left the stream and looked up the trailer. All in all this was a good direct.

To be honest Skyward Sword isn't that bad to me, because I enjoyed that game along with the Twilight Princess as both of those games were my first Legend of Zelda games. (They were actually hard but I had fun playing them, and now maybe if I get Skyward Sword HD I know I'm going to get the hang of it and beat it.)
