Bowser can already go inside Bowser because of a battle, and we can explore Bowser's belly as Bowser with the pipe, so Bowser can go inside Bowser while inside Bowser while inside Bowser while inside Bowser... It is just making my head explode.
Interestingly enough, at 4:16, though the other Action Blocks are blocked off early for the Midbus punch in THIS version of Bowser’s Inside Story, the original game with cheats allows any Action Block/attack to be used AT ANY POINT, save for the tutorial at the beginning with Mario alone. (So, you can use a Bowser Attack to basically KO him instead of punching. It has a chance of crashing the game, however.) You can also use Bros. Attacks earlier than you should be able to in the Starlow tutorials, but another enemy drops in its place so Starlow can explain more details, as if the developers specifically coded that in the (impossible) event that Mario or Luigi would do so much damage so early.
In the original BIS, when you had the Bros. placed over a major area (i.e. Trash Pit, Pump Works, Flab Zone, Energy Hold or Airway) in the map of Bowser's body, if you inhaled an enemy as Bowser, then that area's battle background would show up in the Bros. battle inside Bowser instead of the generic belly background with the blue walls. I always thought this was a neat feature, but it wasn't present in the 3DS remakes. Do you think it'd be possible to implement something like that through hacking or modding, like with the original soundtrack mod you mentioned?
I have the original on a 492 in 1 card. I activated some cheats then turned on safe mode while experimenting with them and now I can't turn it off unless I put the card into a computer and change it from there. When I get to the blue shell part in the clouds there's a part where I get a jigsaw block but hitting it does nothing. Videos show it unlocks the cannon special move which I've always had.
Open your save file in a hex editor. There should be some indicator to what your position in the file is in terms of hex bytes. Use the offsets listed and replace the value with the value in the video.

I tried it in the DS version with a levitate trick and when I got on the pipe nothing happened
