Standard they are very dialled in and tight, even the non sport ones. Keep at it, she's a bit shit at the minute but will be a beaut when alls sorted. Totally worth it 🤘
the door lock issue happened on an e30 I was working on, if the automatic locking mechanism seizes on the door it won't unlock/lock until you take the door apart and replace/remove the central locking (electric locking) mechanism...
You can use the loom out of an E34 sedan dash from fuse box to cluster, easier to find as well. Only difference is the length of the harness for the body control unit, worse case you can remake the harness by copying the original if the body ecu itself isn't smoked.
You made me remember of my first few months of my E36 ownership XD One issue fixed, another came up Now i have it for 4.5 years and its still not perfect, but getting close to that, and I still love it :)

I had an old 1990 e34b25. Though i had loads of fun bouncing the front end like it had hydraulics, hitting bumps to make the car light wink individually, and the unending search for “what’s on fire now”, I am infinitely happier with my Toyota. The old bimmer was still on the road last I checked with well over 200,000 miles. Nothing I have owned since has had as much class; and I do miss it...Though it was a lot like driving Henry VIII around in car form.
Currently swapping the driveline of my delphin 535i to a low mileage motor with 5speed and LSD... I would KILL for a touring with all of that already in place! Great buy, excellent car. Very jealous.
Nice project man! I’m in the process of restoring a ‘95 525i. Lovely old cars but it’s always something with them haha. You have the wheels I want for mine.. from an E31 840Ci!
Had one of those 10 years ago, was the latest one's so i think 1995/96 model, was great to drive, good seats, silent.. that play on the steering wheel had too, but was cos of soft sided tires, changed the tires and that was gone.. only problem it had was oil leaking from the back of the engine, between firewall and engine(common issue, there is "plugs" that over the time will come lose/rot or something), oh and lot of electric problems i had to sort out, most of them was cold joints/cracked joints in the electronic boxes. Loved the color it had, the green one that change colors when light change, sometimes it was green sometimes black and sometimes blue :D
Loved my E34 touring. Coincidentally I moved it on when it was on 178k and all the electrical woes and creeping rust became too much of an issue. The electric windows always break too because of the stupid nylon clips that don’t last.
Even when they were new, the steering was looser than your nans........... I had one, and its my worst memory of it. Problem is, not only is there a Steering Box. But also about 5,500 Balljoints and rods. When you stand under the car and look at the steering system, you just cant help but FacePalm......
I had one oxfordgrün 1995 525i touring with leather interior...my first car,it eas awesome, altough it was missing catalytic converters, muffler dropped down, horn didn't work, airbag light was on,passenger side Electric window didn't work and it had sometimes misfires 😀 Damn,i miss it!

My best mate had an automatic one of these as his first car. We called it "Pavarotti's Hearse" - it was enormous, slow, soft, rolly, and piles of fun. It was also super useful to sleep in. It died after he overheated it and tried to drive it to a garage.
Wow, £2750...?! E34 prices have shot up since I last checked!! I had a saloon model in white, also 1992 K reg. Bought it in 2008 for £550. Drove it for a year then sold it for £500. Wish I'd kept it now! Ok, so it did have some rust on the wings even back then but it ran perfectly and everything worked. Those M50 engines will run forever if looked after. And from what I hear they can be tuned to some pretty impressive (four figure) outputs too! This is definitely one that will appreciate in value over the next few years.
Hey Guys, I kept 1994 model of the E34 touring for nearly 10 years. I bought it in its 11th year. I just loved this Baby, 5 speed, straight 6 cylinder, I travelled the entire Ghana with it. Thats the good bit. Bad bits include mould, the foglamp fell out after 6miles driving and exploded under the front wheel and knocked a side skirt loose and a suspicious noise, which could be a flap in the exhaust or a solonoid on the gearbox. 2 bulbs have gone so far Then the 1st owner had a mrs who trashed the paintwork, and seats look like they did 300k, my A5 leather with 143k is virtually perfect except on the drivers seat side. Mind you, paying £8 to fix a light is abit cheaper than for the audi which cost over £180 for a dull headlamp. My mk2 jetta witg golf gti front end was double the brightness, and its 15yrs older than the bmw is now.
Such a shame this was so short lived :(
Miss my 92 e34t. You are a leg up, I had to convert mine to manual... none in the US ever were. Plus smileys, rear fogs, amp bypass, etc.
It always Time to rebuild or replace the hatch harnesses
When I was very young my dad had a beautiful red E34 520 😍
THIS IS THE TYPE OF BUILD WE WANT TO SEE!!! doing old bmws is how i find you
In the first half of the video I was thinking "why is he constantly driving on the wrong side of the road?!" Then I remembered XD
OH. MY. GOD. I always wanted to see this beauty on your channel, and now it's like a dream come true. DON'T YOU F*CKING DARE F*CK IT UP, ALEX. I SWEAR.
When BMW's where actually different from the rest.. keep this one!
Bought a low mileage mint 1990 520i about 7 yrs ago for £300. Its beige with a brown dash and a more recently implanted m52 from an e36. Standard they are very dialled in and tight, even the non sport ones.
Keep at it, she's a bit shit at the minute but will be a beaut when alls sorted. Totally worth it 🤘
You should have seen what we do with E34s in Latvia - we literally ressurect them from their graves.
the door lock issue happened on an e30 I was working on, if the automatic locking mechanism seizes on the door it won't unlock/lock until you take the door apart and replace/remove the central locking (electric locking) mechanism...
Smaller steering wheel is really important in the recirculating ball BMWs. The 4 spoked ones make the car feel like a yacht
Love Frank! We Are E34 Addicts.. Nice To See Frank Will Be Kept Alive And Well 👍 Hope To See Future Updates 😁
"This car was born wayy before Greta Thunberg "
Kamil Krak she wasn’t born. She was spawned.💰👿💩
@@orygunchainsawmassacre6761 I thought it was carved & sewn like the puppet it is.
This car was born before most of Generation Z. Not sure what his point is.
@@michaelramsey82 That it's a fairly old car, you're welcome.
I have a lovely BMW 3 series e90. Honestly manual bmws that are well maintained are the best for driving. Sheer pleasure.
*Sees title of the video*
Me: AGAIN!?
You can use the loom out of an E34 sedan dash from fuse box to cluster, easier to find as well. Only difference is the length of the harness for the body control unit, worse case you can remake the harness by copying the original if the body ecu itself isn't smoked.
yes! e34 content! i still own 4!
You made me remember of my first few months of my E36 ownership XD
One issue fixed, another came up
Now i have it for 4.5 years and its still not perfect, but getting close to that, and I still love it :)
Same with my Golf MK4 now at maybe -20 percent
The E34 Touring is the best-looking BMW of all times, hands down 😍
Exterior wise i would definetly agree with you, but tbh the Interior looks shit compared to the E39.
Nah, that would be the 507
@@slacko1971 Okay, lets say best looking 5 Series of all Time.
My e92 had a visit to the garage on Monday, the Airbag and restraint system stopped working. They had to drain 4 inches of water from the battery area.
Solid German, faultless build quality for you.
I wish there were more uploads on this channel
Quality over Quantity.
Don’t give up on this car ..it’s rare it needs time and attention.. but these old e34 look brilliant when the are restored lowerd slightly and bbs rims ..
Smoked headlights etc ..
So keep the head up..
And never loose faith
Love bmw e34 touring ❤️❤️❤️
Hey Alex. I feel like it needs the french oem yellow headlights. Check them out
Am I the only one who likes Low Displacement High Cylinder number engines?
The E34 is such an amazing looking car, and to think this car is 27 years old. I can't say whether I prefer the E34 over the E39 in terms of looks though, I still think E39 is the best looking BMW ever
58 seconds after uploading I'm already here
have had e34's for 10 years now, cant say there is a car out there i trust more and very few problems with them. never broken down on me. At the moment i got a 525ix (winter car) and a m5 3.8 ( summer car) and i love them
What actually happened to this car?
He sold it to make time for £50 Honda civics :(
I had an old 1990 e34b25.

The E34's are the best Bmw's made
Nice project man! I’m in the process of restoring a ‘95 525i. Lovely old cars but it’s always something with them haha.
You have the wheels I want for mine.. from an E31 840Ci!
Selling my E34 is one of the things I mostly regret in life
Had one of those 10 years ago, was the latest one's so i think 1995/96 model, was great to drive, good seats, silent.. that play on the steering wheel had too, but was cos of soft sided tires, changed the tires and that was gone.. only problem it had was oil leaking from the back of the engine, between firewall and engine(common issue, there is "plugs" that over the time will come lose/rot or something), oh and lot of electric problems i had to sort out, most of them was cold joints/cracked joints in the electronic boxes. Loved the color it had, the green one that change colors when light change, sometimes it was green sometimes black and sometimes blue :D
Who had e34 525i touring?
I did.
Yeah, it was my first car. 525ix. Still miss it...
@@devotion4music I had 3 of e34 and it was the best
I have an 530i sedan but ya know, close enough
I have a e34 525i sedan in India!
I had one oxfordgrün 1995 525i touring with leather interior...my first car,it eas awesome, altough it was missing catalytic converters, muffler dropped down, horn didn't work, airbag light was on,passenger side Electric window didn't work and it had sometimes misfires 😀
Damn,i miss it!
2:23 when you see it
I screwed up exactly as you did ! Got an e36 from the same year, its a rust bucket with way too many miles, but i love it and im gonna keep it. Im not the person to neglect my car and just send it all the time.
Me: is early for once
Also me: has nothing to say
Feels bad
Boobies!!
Your comedy is getting better, keep it up
Never thought I would hear Alex say that he would take the car dogging.
O H N O
Re-bush the suspension, it’ll transform the handling. The E34 is a good handling car when sorted.
*The passenger seat decided it wanted to have Herpes*
My best mate had an automatic one of these as his first car. We called it "Pavarotti's Hearse" - it was enormous, slow, soft, rolly, and piles of fun. It was also super useful to sleep in. It died after he overheated it and tried to drive it to a garage.
It's 28 years old 1992-2020 = 28 not 27 🤦🏽♂️
Its probbably an old upload
stfu
Does anyone know what happened to that e34?
If I learned anything from Hoovie, it's to avoid old BMWs
Larry If you watch him then you would understand that he says to avoid BMWs from 2004-2008 years..
The E34 is my absolute dreamcar, had one as my first car until someone set it on fire. id Love to see you restore this beauty
Dayum... That sucks bro... I hope this guy went to prison or something.
You screwed up with one bmw, now with two.
I did an LED changeover for headlights on my 2004 Jag, huge difference and made night driving fun again!
Do like the fact all other car UA-cam channels get boring lambos ect and alex gets a 2k bmw , love CT for it
I'm a man of the people! And also, f**k buying a car on finance!
Hey Guys, I kept 1994 model of the E34 touring for nearly 10 years. I bought it in its 11th year.
I just loved this Baby, 5 speed, straight 6 cylinder, I travelled the entire Ghana with it. I bought an e39 touring, which I keep now since the past 5 years, but I REGRET selling the E34.
Im looking forward to the E61...hope to enjoy it.
I love e34s, they're great and you should stick with it, I've had 3 of them, maybe one day I'll have another. Ah yes , the door lock problems I forgot about those. Had that on mine and it was only 10 years old at the time! Viscous Fan coupling is another fun job...
