- We've been waiting a little while to try and score this world-class left, tucked away in a fairly remote area of Sumbawa, Indonesia. It is known to be extremely fickle, requiring a big swell to even break, and a whole load of other variables thrown in to get it working perfectly.
We were treated to a couple of days of really good waves, but unfortunately the wind wasn't quite blowing in the right direction, creating some slightly bumpy and wonky conditions at times. However, this didn't stop an abundance of excellent barrels being ridden during the two days we filmed.

There's quite a few expats living here locally, and you still get a fair few people doing strikes from Bali etc when the conditions come together. You should see how crowded it gets in normal times..
20 years ago Sumbawa was the end of the Earth. Everywhere gets crowded now.
And videos such as this make more people aware of the wave and guess what?

This wave sucks alot.. bahahaha
i was more impressed with the drone opperator than i was with the wave, or the surfing. i understand this is a fickle wave, and requires a long list of prerequisite conditions to "come to life." but its so small. and the surfers arent that great. when i see a surf video with the words "comes to life", my expectations are already set too high.

Doesn't anyone know how to surf anymore. Tube riding is one, quite boring, aspect of surfing. Perfect waves and not a single bit of style. Stall, tube, stall, tube, stall, tube...zzzzzz! Every video is the same. It's like lab rats trained to do one thing.
