Oh, this was beautiful. You know the saying "Understood the assignment." This is Understanding The Assignment. Hats off to everyone involved. Happy 5 years of 3 Houses!
While I am a Blue Lions fan, I feel like the only way to really do Apex of the World justice is to have it be a duet between Dimitri and Edelgard. Can’t have one without the other.
It's... Everything I dreamed it would be. I had actually been piecing together my own version of this song after hearing the Songtober version years ago, and someway, somehow you incorporated a few of the main ideas I was going to use (Both Dimitri and Edelgards pov, having them sing a part of "Edge of Dawn" as a duet) I got chills at 2:21 when both joined in with "cross my heart" because that was always the part I envisioned the duet starting at, with those exact words (ik it's not really original, because it's just part of edge of dawn, but still). It was like seeing a part of my mind show up on the screen. Thank you for finally making the song that I've been waiting for so long. This is inspiring.
I always found it extremely tragic that the circumstances of thier world kept them from being on the same side. Between TWSITD's influence making Edelgard feel trapped and causing the tragedy of Duscur (which gave Dimitri his issues) it really makes you realize that the true villain was Those who Slither all along. I also find it sad that so many people get caught up in Dimitri Vs Edelguard that they forget that there are real bad people on the continent to get rid of instead of fighting over morally-grey protagonists.
Now we only miss A Funeral of Flowers and we'll have all of the final boss themes from Three Houses. This cover is a major banger, especially the 3:28 part. It reaches the levels of God-Shattering Star in terms of how good it was in my opinion.
A shame Juno never got a chance to do Claude in one of these but God-Shattering Star is about Nemesis anyway so I suppose we won't get that unless we get Between Heaven and Earth (or, hey, Melody of Clarity for all my Hopes fans out there)
I'm getting _major_ goosebumps! I also or may not be shedding actual tears during 3:28 . Ostara has some killer vibrato and angelic high notes, and Gake's tone is so warm and strong... for want of better words, it's full of spirit and hope. Both voices are such a good compliment for each other and the build up toward the end was such a great emotional payoff! ALSO THE ART !!! Juno came out with another banger piece, topped off with some final effects from Maiden. Both are such excellent artists and having both their skills in one piece is such a treat
I just got done preforming Edge of Dawn in full Byleth costume, so hearing Edge of Dawn here is making me very emotional, and MAN, WHY THEY GOTTA USE THAT SCENE THERE, THEY’RE GONNA KILL ME!
In Crimson Flower you fight for a Fodlan free from “gods” puppeteering the everything behind the scenes even if it means declaring war on your friends. In Azure Moon you watch one of the people closest to you is now the face of the people who killed your family. In turn driving you to insanity until you finally are saved and want nothing more than to make up with your friend and stop a war. The Apex of the World. Beautifully mirrors this and the emotions Edelguard and Dimitri are most likely feeling in their final fights. Then there’s the Golden Deer wanting to bring unity and extending Fodlans reach to the rest of the world only to watch a war break out. Leading Claude’s to want to seek out the truth of Fodlan. And that truth turns out to be. Mole people go BURR Edit: I couldn’t help but add this but I love the line “The oath of the dagger betrays.” Dimitri and Edelguard become friends when they are younger and when they have to leave each other Dimitri gifts her a dagger to cut her own future. Years later Edelguard is now associated with Tositd who caused the tragedy of Duscur. Making Dimitris snap all the more powerful and saddening. Then in Azure Moon as you defeat Edelguard and Dimitri offers her mercy showing his character growth only for Edelguard to grab the same dagger that Dimitri gave her as her last resort.
Verdant Wind ends with the most people dead. Crimson Flower ends the war soonest In Azure Moon, the Alliance is less involved And between Silver Snow and Verdant Wind, VW has an extra month of bloodshed alongside Nemesis rampaging through half of Fodlan.
Gosh this cover is amazing. The lyrics sell the regret that our two rulers have that it’s come to this. Ostara stole the show for me, killing it with the high notes, and nailing Edelgard’s resolve to see things through to the end.
Ever since the Songtober upload, Dimitri's first verse in the first 25 seconds has stood the test of time as one of my favorite lines in the entire With Lyrics community. The writing is so powerful and poetic, and the notes it's accompanying lends itself to some killer belting, which is always fun. So I was walking into this with high expectations. Gotta say, y'all demolished it. Fantastic. Beautiful. One of my new favorite videos on this channel. Everyone involved absolutely killed it oh my god.
Fire emblem three houses is a game I hold deep in my heart. I remember playing it during 8th grade during my lowest times. I loved the story, the characters and the music especially. And hearing God Shattering Star was immaculate. But apex of the world… It’s beyond infinity itself! I LOVED IT! I can’t wait to see A funeral of flower get a lyrical adaptation. Keep it up, MOTI team! Thank you for bringing back my childhood memories.😊
Thank you for polishing Apex of the World from a Songtober rough draft of old into a long awaited masterpiece. In a matter that has completely exceeded expectations no less. To combine two route's final boss scenarios into a duet that flows so smoothly... Even on the shift to the tender emotions of a reprise of The Edge of Dawn. I applaud all involved in creating these four minutes of wonder.
Wasn’t expecting it to become a duet with Edelgard, but considering that both of these final bosses had this song it’s definitely fitting that it is. I also love that the lyrics captures both their paths and that which ties them together in this game. Very well done MOTI and to Gake and Ostara for this
[ [ INCREDIBLY LONG COMMENT INCOMING, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! ] ] Screw it, here's a line-by-line analysis of the lyrics: "The lion's roar, the lion's pride, hath slain the boar and freed the man inside." This is a metaphor for Dimitri's character arc throughout the whole game. The lion, the man and the boar are all Dimitri in one way or another. The lion is the king, a symbol. Dimitri's own morals and might are the lion's roar and his allies are the lion's pride. The boar is the ruthless beast. The mad Dimitri that we see at the beginning of Azure Moon, consumed by his desire for revenge. This is also a nickname given to him by Felix. The man is simply the true Dimitri, without the title, or the trauma. He fights for what he believes in now. "The ebon wings cast a shadow on Fódlan." The "ebon wings" either reference Hegemon Edelgard, or the Black Eagles house (or both?). Either way, this is referring to Edelgard's war consuming Fódlan, destroying it. "Lost in the hegemony of the self, standing alone." Once again referencing Hegemon Edelgard. This is saying that Edelgard is putting herself and her empire above everyone else, conquering the rest of Fódlan. By putting herself above everyone else as emperor, she has lost herself, and that led her to becoming the Hegemon Husk, a being only of immense power, without humanity. "Our visions of the land could never coexist." Simply put, Dimitri and Edelgard's views about Fódlan's future are contradictory, both cannot apply to Fódlan simultaneously. One seeks to dismantle the system, the other seeks to improve it. "In the blood wrought from our war, can be no genesis." This is criticizing Edelgard's idea to change Fódlan through war. It's saying that nothing can come from the war, not a better system, not anything. "For the world to change and grow, one of us must fall." Acknowledging that either Dimitri or Edelgard must die, as with both of their conflicting ideologies, conflict will continue and Fódlan will have more wars. "For ideals of the future, we shall give our all!" Both Edelgard and Dimitri are willing to sacrifice everything for their ideals, their respective visions of Fódlan's future. "You've cut your path as I have cut mine." References Dimitri's dagger he gave Edelgard, so she can "cut a path to the future she dreamed of". Edelgard and Dimitri both fight for their own futures. "And when they cross one shall live and one shall die." Dimitri and Edelgard must kill each other so their futures can exist, as they are contradictory. This could also be a reference to the song "Paths That Will Never Cross" that plays when fighting a former classmate post-timeskip. "One final dance at the apex of the world." This line references the flashback where young Edelgard taught young Dimitri how to dance. As one of them must die, this is their "final dance" of sorts. The line also references the title of the song, "Apex of the world". This is the climax of Dimitri's (and Edelgard's) journey, the final chapter in his route and his goal for most of Azure Moon. "And the end of Fódlan's tale shall be unfurled!" After this fight, Fódlan will enter an age of peace, the end of its long, war filled history. The end to that history will be the fight at the end of Azure Moon. "Born of blood and blade, formed of war and iron." This line represents Edelgard's vision for Fódlan, that was born when she saw the effects of the crest system, in those experiments on her and her siblings. Then, that vision only became clearer, closer, more powerful as she fought and conquered to make it a reality. "From paths we'll never stray, so on, into the fire." Edelgard is stating that she (and her allies) will not stray from the path to the future that she envisions. This also references the final chapter in Crimson Flower, set in Fhirdiad, on fire. "The fallen at my hands were lost to the machine." This can be read as Edelgard's foes being too tied to the crest system to allow them to live without destroying the system. Alternatively, this can be read as Edelgard initially blaming herself ("fallen at MY hands") and then accepting that this is the fault of the system she's destroying ("lost to the machine"). (Note: doesn't "machine" seem a bit anachronistic? I know "technology" is used when talking about Agarthan stuff, but "machine", when just talking about the crest system? idk) "Now face to face we stand, the blades of our dreams." This once again reinforces the fact that Edelgard and Dimitri are fighting over their ideals, their dreams. "Here I stand on bloodied lands, among the crimson flowers" So, this is an obvious reference to the name of Edelgard's route, Crimson Flower. But why are the flowers crimson? Are they naturally like that, or is it the blood spilled on the lands? If they are red from the blood, then they parallel Edelgard herself, having been changed drastically from both the war in her present, and the experiments in her past. "In a system that cannot withstand its final hours!" This seems like a direct jab at Rhea, who destroys her image by becoming "no longer the archbishop, but rather a warrior", then setting fire to Fhirdiad, and finally transforming into the immaculate one. The church and its crest system are falling apart by the end of Edelgard’s route. "And for Fódlan to be free, it falls to you and I." This doesn't make much sense by itself, but combined with the next line, Edelgard is asking Dimitri to join her. This happens near the end of Azure Moon, but not in Crimson Flower. "What a pity that change only comes when good men die." Edelgard is lamenting that she must kill many good people to achieve the systemic change she fights for. Dimitri is seemingly at the top of that list of "good men". "Cross my heart, woe to all the promises we made. And it's here we part, only for a breath and then we fade." These two lines are taken (with some changes) from the full version of "The Edge of Dawn". Both Edelgard and Dimitri are truly saddened by how things turned out, having to fight each other in the war. They also acknowledge that they will meet once final time (as one will die). "The eagle's cry, the eagle's wings, clear out the sky and freedom they will bring!" This parallels Dimitri's line from the beginning, with the eagle being Edelgard. She declares that she and her allies will reveal the truth and free Fódlan from the crest system. "One final dance, the apex of the world, and Fódlan's final tale will be unfurled!" Again, paralleling Dimitri's line, this time one-to-one. "Woe to all our halcyon days, the oath of the dagger betrayed." "Oath of the Dagger" is the name of the final chapter of Azure Moon. That name itself references the dagger Dimitri gave Edelgard when they were children. Dimitri grieves for his carefree days at the academy, and before that, with Edelgard. "Woe to those caught in the machine, we sing 'til the end of a dream." "To the End of a Dream" is the name of the final chapter of Crimson Flower. This parallels Dimitri's previous line, containing a reference to his route's final chapter. Edelgard grieves for those she had to kill in her war, again using "machine". "Reach for my hand, I'll soar away into the dawn, oh, I wish I could stay Here in cherished halls, in peaceful days, I fear the Edge of Dawn knowing time betrays." Taken from "The Edge of Dawn" with no changes. This is usually sung about Byleth, but here Edelgard and Dimitri sing it about each other. They both wish they didn't have to kill each other, Dimitri even offering his hand at the end of Azure Moon. They yearn for their days at the academy, though... "You've cut your path, and I've cut mine. And when they cross one shall live and one shall die. One final dance, the apex of the world, and Fódlan's final tale will be unfurled!" They must kill each other. For their ideals, their future, their end to Fódlan's history. (This is repeated once again from earlier in the song.) That's all, folks! If you have any additions or different interpretations, please feel free to write them in the replies. This was mostly written for fun, so there may be a lot of things I've missed. I hope understanding some references and some possible interpretations will improve your listening experience.

I love how everyone is talking about “What a pity that change only happens when good men die” and I agree. It hits hard because it fits Three Houses. There is no golden ending. Someone has to die to beat the game.
Oh my God it finally happened! I've been hoping for this one since the day it was released in Songtober 2 years ago. I cannot describe how much this song means to me and how it makes me so happy (but I'll try anyways) 3 Houses is definitely one of my absolute favorite games of all time and the fact that you not only polished the Dimitri lyrics that I felt fitted perfectly into everything he was at the end of Azure Moon but that you expanded on it with Edelgards perspective it's genius! It not only gives a broader picture on the "main" story of 3H but it also shows the themes of perspective that made me fall in love with that game in the first place. Thank you so much for such an amazing work!
YOOOOO I'm so glad you decided to do this song ! I was a big fan of the version you made for Songtober and seeing a full version with all the work you put in it is really nice. The vocals gave me chills, like I knew Gake's voice was really good when I heard his interpretation of Arven in Pokemon Scarlet/Violet dub, but he's great at Dimitri too ! And Ostara's high notes were incredible. You made a really good job, thank you for this one !

This is great, Twilight of the Gods was great, I am laying here on the floor in disbelief, simultaneously thinking you couldn't make Funeral of Flowers awesome but also really hoping you try someday.
"What a pity that change only comes when good men die" is such a kickass line Like the implication is "you're a good man, too bad I'm going to have to kill you now" Also I may have listened to this nonstop since it came out-
I interpreted it as more "change only happens when good men fight, and thus die, for change." I don't think there's been a single point in history where social reform didn't have people fight for it and in their pursuit of change they weren't attacked and possibly killed by those in power.
You cant just drop this on me. Apex of the World being my ALL TIME FAVORITE song from Three Houses this was done BEAUTIFULLY! I had literal goosebumps at times

Fuck. Just... fuck. Utterly blown away. The lyrics, the VOICES, oh, God this was just phenominal. I love the back and forth between dimitri and edelgard in this, it really feels like Three Houses was their story. Amazing
I was hoping for this to get a full cover ever since it was featured on Songtober, and the final version is EVEN BETTER THAN I HAD IMAGINED! I love that both Azure Moon and Crimson Flower get their time to shine here.
I hoped for this song to get a full release since you did the songtober version, and honestly, even with the high hopes I had for it, you managed to exceed them. The fact that ended up being a duet between Edelgard and Dimitri was fantastic, and I gotta say, Gake and Ostara's voices made for a great song, and Edelgard's lyrics were also quite on point with the character she showed during the game. I loved every second of this song

I'm also a diehard Blue Lions/Azure Moon fan... and yes... I feel the same
It is our Sothis given duty to replay this video until Alex makes a Three Houses musical bytes
As a diehard fan of both paths (yeah we do exist lmao), saaaammmeeeeee
I screamed when Edelgard started singing, i was worried this was going to be an azure moon only kinda video
While I am a Blue Lions fan, I feel like the only way to really do Apex of the World justice is to have it be a duet between Dimitri and Edelgard. Can’t have one without the other.
This song is too good for only one of them
I am surprised you thought that considering the thumbnail as Edelgard. I came into this expecting it to be a Crimson Flower only video
@@kobsterhope9270 The thumbnail keeps switching between the two. It was Dimitri when it dropped
@@chieftomahawk664 Same but I'm a crimson flower fan
2:15 "What a pity that change only comes when good men die."
THIS gives the chills.
This part is going on loop since I discovered this one⭐
Thank you for making this a duet between Dimitri and Edelgard. Especially since I’m part of the minority who actually likes the both of them
Glad to know there's someone out there besides me that loves the both of them, flaws and all
Both are awesome. Both have their flaws and if Byleth wasn't there for any of them, I dunno who would win.
Aha, I found brothers who share my inability to pick favorites!
@@applepopapplerancher3211 Yes, brother. Join us
I always found it extremely tragic that the circumstances of thier world kept them from being on the same side.
Do we have "At What Cost?" (Cindered Shadows)? If so how did I miss it?
@@weepingdalek2568 I mean, technically you're right. I was more talking about the base game final bosses
A shame Juno never got a chance to do Claude in one of these but God-Shattering Star is about Nemesis anyway so I suppose we won't get that unless we get Between Heaven and Earth (or, hey, Melody of Clarity for all my Hopes fans out there)
@@weepingdalek2568a.
Funeral of Flowers would be great for Rhea/Byleth. And they could make Melody of Clarity for Shez/Claude
YOU DON'T KNOW HOW HAPPY THIS HAS MADE ME
In Crimson Flower you fight for a Fodlan free from “gods” puppeteering the everything behind the scenes even if it means declaring war on your friends.
Mole people go BURR
Edit: I couldn’t help but add this but I love the line “The oath of the dagger betrays.” Dimitri and Edelguard become friends when they are younger and when they have to leave each other Dimitri gifts her a dagger to cut her own future.
Claude is out here solving racism
@@luiginumbers6268Except people probably end up being racist against people who look similar to Agarthans after Verdant Wind
@@eric_moore-6126 that was done in the shadows out of public knowledge. Most likely they’ll just think they have a skin condition
Dimitri unknowingly kills all the mole person leadership in AM. He never even learns they exist, but he still solved the problem.
Verdant Wind ends with the most people dead.
Crimson Flower ends the war soonest
In Azure Moon, the Alliance is less involved
And between Silver Snow and Verdant Wind, VW has an extra month of bloodshed alongside Nemesis rampaging through half of Fodlan.
Very well done MOTI and to Gake and Ostara for this
1:15 the timing of the song and the gambits is so gooooood
Dimitri's lines being sung to the "Fire Emblem" tune at 0:34 is a brilliant touch
[ [ INCREDIBLY LONG COMMENT INCOMING, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! ] ]
Screw it, here's a line-by-line analysis of the lyrics:
"The lion's roar, the lion's pride, hath slain the boar and freed the man inside."
This is a metaphor for Dimitri's character arc throughout the whole game.
The lion, the man and the boar are all Dimitri in one way or another.
The lion is the king, a symbol. Dimitri's own morals and might are the lion's roar and his allies are the lion's pride.
The boar is the ruthless beast. The mad Dimitri that we see at the beginning of Azure Moon, consumed by his
desire for revenge. This is also a nickname given to him by Felix.
The man is simply the true Dimitri, without the title, or the trauma. He fights for what he believes in now.
"The ebon wings cast a shadow on Fódlan."
The "ebon wings" either reference Hegemon Edelgard, or the Black Eagles house (or both?).
Either way, this is referring to Edelgard's war consuming Fódlan, destroying it.
"Lost in the hegemony of the self, standing alone."
Once again referencing Hegemon Edelgard.
This is saying that Edelgard is putting herself and her empire above everyone else,
conquering the rest of Fódlan. By putting herself above everyone else
as emperor, she has lost herself, and that led her to becoming the Hegemon Husk,
a being only of immense power, without humanity.
"Our visions of the land could never coexist."
Simply put, Dimitri and Edelgard's views about Fódlan's future are contradictory, both cannot apply to Fódlan
simultaneously. One seeks to dismantle the system, the other seeks to improve it.
"In the blood wrought from our war, can be no genesis."
This is criticizing Edelgard's idea to change Fódlan through war.
It's saying that nothing can come from the war, not a better system, not anything.
"For the world to change and grow, one of us must fall."
Acknowledging that either Dimitri or Edelgard must die, as with both of their conflicting ideologies,
conflict will continue and Fódlan will have more wars.
"For ideals of the future, we shall give our all!"
Both Edelgard and Dimitri are willing to sacrifice everything for their ideals, their respective
visions of Fódlan's future.
"You've cut your path as I have cut mine."
References Dimitri's dagger he gave Edelgard, so she can "cut a path to the future she dreamed of".
Edelgard and Dimitri both fight for their own futures.
"And when they cross one shall live and one shall die."
Dimitri and Edelgard must kill each other so their futures can exist, as they are
contradictory. This could also be a reference to the song "Paths That Will Never Cross"
that plays when fighting a former classmate post-timeskip.
"One final dance at the apex of the world."
This line references the flashback where young Edelgard taught young Dimitri how to dance.
As one of them must die, this is their "final dance" of sorts.
The line also references the title of the song, "Apex of the world".
This is the climax of Dimitri's (and Edelgard's) journey, the final chapter in his route and his goal
for most of Azure Moon.
"And the end of Fódlan's tale shall be unfurled!"
After this fight, Fódlan will enter an age of peace, the end of its long, war filled history.
The end to that history will be the fight at the end of Azure Moon.
"Born of blood and blade, formed of war and iron."
This line represents Edelgard's vision for Fódlan, that was born when she saw the effects of the crest system,
in those experiments on her and her siblings. Then, that vision only became clearer, closer, more powerful as she
fought and conquered to make it a reality.
"From paths we'll never stray, so on, into the fire."
Edelgard is stating that she (and her allies) will not stray from the path to the future that she envisions.
This also references the final chapter in Crimson Flower, set in Fhirdiad, on fire.
"The fallen at my hands were lost to the machine."
This can be read as Edelgard's foes being too tied to the crest system to allow them to live without
destroying the system. Alternatively, this can be read as Edelgard initially blaming herself ("fallen
at MY hands") and then accepting that this is the fault of the system she's destroying ("lost to the
machine"). (Note: doesn't "machine" seem a bit anachronistic? I know "technology" is used when
talking about Agarthan stuff, but "machine", when just talking about the crest system? idk)
"Now face to face we stand, the blades of our dreams."
This once again reinforces the fact that Edelgard and Dimitri are fighting over their ideals,
their dreams.
"Here I stand on bloodied lands, among the crimson flowers"
So, this is an obvious reference to the name of Edelgard's route, Crimson Flower.
But why are the flowers crimson? Are they naturally like that, or is it the blood spilled on the lands?
If they are red from the blood, then they parallel Edelgard herself, having been changed drastically
from both the war in her present, and the experiments in her past.
"In a system that cannot withstand its final hours!"
This seems like a direct jab at Rhea, who destroys her image by becoming "no longer the archbishop,
but rather a warrior", then setting fire to Fhirdiad, and finally transforming into the immaculate one.
The church and its crest system are falling apart by the end of Edelgard’s route.
"And for Fódlan to be free, it falls to you and I."
This doesn't make much sense by itself, but combined with the next line, Edelgard is asking
Dimitri to join her. This happens near the end of Azure Moon, but not in Crimson Flower.
"What a pity that change only comes when good men die."
Edelgard is lamenting that she must kill many good people to achieve the systemic change
she fights for. Dimitri is seemingly at the top of that list of "good men".
"Cross my heart, woe to all the promises we made. And it's here we part, only for a breath and then we fade."
These two lines are taken (with some changes) from the full version of "The Edge of Dawn". Both Edelgard and Dimitri are truly
saddened by how things turned out, having to fight each other in the war. They also acknowledge that
they will meet once final time (as one will die).
"The eagle's cry, the eagle's wings, clear out the sky and freedom they will bring!"
This parallels Dimitri's line from the beginning, with the eagle being Edelgard.
She declares that she and her allies will reveal the truth and free Fódlan from the crest system.
"One final dance, the apex of the world, and Fódlan's final tale will be unfurled!"
Again, paralleling Dimitri's line, this time one-to-one.
"Woe to all our halcyon days, the oath of the dagger betrayed."
"Oath of the Dagger" is the name of the final chapter of Azure Moon. That name itself references
the dagger Dimitri gave Edelgard when they were children.
Dimitri grieves for his carefree days at the academy, and before that, with Edelgard.
"Woe to those caught in the machine, we sing 'til the end of a dream."
"To the End of a Dream" is the name of the final chapter of Crimson Flower.
This parallels Dimitri's previous line, containing a reference to his route's final chapter.
Edelgard grieves for those she had to kill in her war, again using "machine".
"Reach for my hand, I'll soar away into the dawn, oh, I wish I could stay
Here in cherished halls, in peaceful days, I fear the Edge of Dawn knowing time betrays."
Taken from "The Edge of Dawn" with no changes. This is usually sung about Byleth,
but here Edelgard and Dimitri sing it about each other.
They both wish they didn't have to kill each other, Dimitri even offering his hand at the end of Azure Moon.
They yearn for their days at the academy, though...
"You've cut your path, and I've cut mine. And when they cross one shall live and one shall die.
One final dance, the apex of the world, and Fódlan's final tale will be unfurled!"
They must kill each other. For their ideals, their future, their end to Fódlan's history.
(This is repeated once again from earlier in the song.)
That's all, folks!

Perfect. Just perfect. Making the song fit with both characters with such raw and intense vocals that highlight the strength of both characters. I will forever come back to this one
I like that Dimitri starts on the Main Theme's part and not the Edge of Dawn part.
Also I forgot Hegemon was so unnerving in game. Got used to her in FEH.

THIS, this is the kind of stuff AI voice covers can never replace.
woah those high notes caught me so off guard! This is beautiful!
I cannot describe how much this song means to me and how it makes me so happy (but I'll try anyways)
3 Houses is definitely one of my absolute favorite games of all time and the fact that you not only polished the Dimitri lyrics that I felt fitted perfectly into everything he was at the end of Azure Moon but that you expanded on it with Edelgards perspective it's genius! It not only gives a broader picture on the "main" story of 3H but it also shows the themes of perspective that made me fall in love with that game in the first place. Thank you so much for such an amazing work!

"What a pity that change only comes when good men die" is such a kickass line
Like the implication is "you're a good man, too bad I'm going to have to kill you now"
Also I may have listened to this nonstop since it came out-
I interpreted it as more "change only happens when good men fight, and thus die, for change." I don't think there's been a single point in history where social reform didn't have people fight for it and in their pursuit of change they weren't attacked and possibly killed by those in power.
