  • Tallin is a dual voltage controlled amplifier (VCA) with overdrive, offering some unusual control features and a range of attractive tonal characteristics. Each of the two identical channels offers two simultaneously available inputs for voltage control over signal attenuation or gain, with linear and exponential response to CV. Volume control knobs offer manual gain settings ranging from fully closed (-80dB) up to +18dB. A color LED indicator displays output signal levels. A soft-clip circuit avoids harsh clipping distortion, while a switchable overdrive circuit offers two carefully crafted distortion responses, simulating the sound of classic tube amplifiers. Since both CV inputs are simultaneously active, they can be jointly exploited within patches featuring more complex volume control that otherwise would require using two traditional VCAs in series. As the signal path is DC-coupled, Tallin can also be used for handling the control voltages.

I really want this but there are so little demos

It’s a VCA. It sounds great. Get one.

Hello Xaoc , what enveloppe do you use for this video please ?

Very cool module. Own one and use it quiet often.

Would Tallin work as an input module (bring external signals up to Eurorack)? The manual says something to that effect, but I haven't seen any confirmation.

with the full boost it can amplify studio level signals (+4dBu) up to modular lever, however it isn't enough to amplify consumer level signals without some tricks like using two stages of Tallin. Still it can be not enough with some weak signals, for this duties we have Sewastopol.

awesome! does this thing have an offset?

There is only volume knob with 8v normaled to this knob and injected into exponential cv input. With anything connected into exp cv the knob is attenuating incoming signal. If you need typical offset you can use lin cv input.

Amazing. It'd be cool to have some HPF on the drive section, it's usually the bass frequencies that are distorting in the worst way. What do you think? (see Looptrotter Sat2rate 500 series for a good idea of how to add some filtering to the affected signal). cheers
