If XAOC would be interpreted as being written in Cyrillic letters, it would indeed be read "chaos". In fact, "chaos" in Russian is "xaoc" (even though Xaoc is from Poland).
@@Nematomusic I'm starting to think it's my next MakeNoise investment. Any suggestion on the least painful limb to offer? Or a loan officer? So far I just have Maths, Rosie and Morphagene. I WAS thinking Pachinko was next on my list. But I'm very weak on effects. Mimeo does seem universally loved.
@@mntbighker Mimeo is great, ErbeVerb is probably my fav euro reverb which is upsetting that I don’t have one! It’s nice the mimeo can kind of double as both a delay and a verb..but it’s Make Noise so kind of something different with a lot of character
@@Nematomusic As a newb, MakeNoise seems to bend over backward to make things harder to understand... um.. ah, I mean be different ;-) As opposed to something like Doepfer where nothing strays from the vanilla (boring). Something in the middle is probably ideal. I have a Disting EX on order. That has effects, drum samples... kitchen sink. Trouble is you can only use one thing at any given time. Maybe two. My Pam's is another basic tool that so far helps me in a lot of ways.
Thanks for the video. Looking for a video where this is used as a standard ADSR like in the Moog System 55 or Roland System 100. I'll keep looking. Would be nice to see how well it performs emulating a Moog 911 or Roland System 100 EG.
I remember I was using a random source to make the envelopes jump all over, so either the Qu-Bit Nano Rand, or the Make Noise Wogglebug are great options. The trig, I believe I was feeding the clock from the sequencer making the melody into the 4ms Rotating Clock Divider as it was triggering different divisions on the tempo. Hope that helps with some ideas! 👌🏼 Thanks for watching!
Assuming the spelling is based on Cyrillic it is pronounced "Chaos" - as the X is a hard 'Ch' sound and the 'C' is pronounced as an 'S' .... like CCCP sounding SSSR.
Watching you, and Loopop, tonight I organically decided to use my Maths to slew limit the Batumi LFO modulating Warp on the Zadar going to my Typhoon V/oct. I think I'm making progress. How are you slowing down the rate of change here in this patch? And I finally have ES-8 connecting Euro to VCV as of this weekend. But I think you fiddle with Plaits, Clouds, Vult Freak, Zadar and Batumi till the cows come home ;-)
I quickly became a big Xaoc fan! Not sure which patch you’re referring too specifically, but multiple things to consider: 1. Changing the speed of LFOs modulating the Zadar. 2. Using mixers, or the Maths, to attenuate voltages. Also, VCAs are super important to attenuate and animate signals without having to twist knobs! 3. Or lastly just adjusting the output voltage of the Zadar with the... 4th?..lower right knob on any of the channels. With modules like this it’s definitely an endless playground! 👌🏼
Thanks a lot U helped me to understand the gear!!! Please tell me- on 5 minute of this video there is a sound what U shaped..what the source of it??? cheers Bro
If you mean the drone at ~5 minutes the sound is coming from an AJH Synth Minimod Vco module and modulated with the Zadar + Make Noise Mimeophon. Hope this helps!
@@Nematomusic Thank a Lot!!! Nemato! sounds fantastic!!! AJH Synth Minimod Vco on wish list!!! What do U think about Nano..Ona? im looking some vco..but minimod is a bit expensive
Am I crazy or did you not actually say what the Zadar was modulating? In your first patch, was it modulating the Mimeophon in some way? Or was it modulating the amplitude of the VCA? In a couple of them you did say you were modulating some filter's cutoff. Production quality was top notch though. Great job!
@@ChuckSteelhead Yup. Already had a preorder with Control over in Brooklyn. Considering buying from Perfect Circuit and just selling the other when it arrives. The anticipation is rough.

My only regret is not sampling the sound!
@@Nematomusic You should make a video on how to throw modules into cases. Throwing modules into cases sounds like a title for something.
I’m trying to figure out how I can go up from here… like maybe shooting them out of a potato gun into a skiff or something
@@Nematomusic At least something with potatoes. But maybe involve kittens? They are kind of popular on the internet I've heard.
My cat throwing modules. Challenge accepted.

are you using Acid Rain Maestro as like you would use Zadar?
I pair mine with a Mystic Circuits ANA. Zadar gets wild with analogue logic.
Accidentally deleted this video... amateur hour. Just getting this back up for everyone!
DivKid never came back and did the deep dive so Noooooooo!! ;-)
XAOC in Cyrillic is "Chaos"
The guys at XAOC pronounce it “chaos” and it says that in the owners manuals as well. So I just go with that. Also they pronounce it like “Zahdar”
Love the sounds and window into the workflow thanks!

great walkthrough, nice tool!

It’s ‘chaos’. Literally, in the case of this module. A near infinite number of envelopes and options.
great stuff. thanks!

Thanks for the overview of Zadar. It would be helpful to briefly show each patch and not just keep only the Zadar in frame.
Planning on doing more of that in the future!
Wow, the ability to pan forward and backward or cycle through envelope shapes is just absurdly cool. Thanks for making this!
For sure! So many creative features packed into this little module!
it's chaos for me
I'm like 95% sure it's "chaos" devices :P

may as well be pronounced chaos with that shot of it getting thrown through the air. that was kinda awesome actually
That took longer to do than I’d like to admit.. 😅
I can't believe I forgot about this module as i just replaced my doepfer quad ADSR for 2 of their smaller dual ADSR's to open up some extra space...
Hard to beat the price point of a couple of those though! Those are great for a lot of eurorack functions too

Yeah the first patch was just providing an amplitude envelope through a VCA for the drone. Sorry for the confusion!
