One "con" for some could be the weather in summer. If someone is planning on living in The Villages all year, I recommend visiting in the summer for a week or 2 or longer. See how you do with the heat & humidity of Central Florida. I have visited The Villages several times in the summer for that reason. I am planning another trip to TV in July. As my planned for retirement date is 13 months away, I need to make some decisions fairly soon if The Villages should be my next home. As far as traffic, I have lived in the Chicago area for 44 years. On the 2 days a week that I have to drive to my office, I spend 2 hours each of those days in traffic. So traffic in The Villages is not a big deal for me. If someone is relocating from a small town to The Villages, traffic might be more of an issue.

You hit the nail on the head! I have enjoyed many hours in Chicago traffic! Lol

@@LivinginTheVillagesFL Even though it's only 2 days a week, I will not miss that commute at all next year.

Groovy episode. How is law and order in The Villages. I hear there is just one small Sherriff station for all of The Villages.

I believe their are more than one. The Villages spans 3 counties with over 150,000 residents.
I'm glad you liked the video. Thank you for watching.

Was down a couple times this season , staying with friends both times, and had a fun time as we always do when we come down. Couple "cons" I heard from people we met or golfed with were:
Golf: If you aren't a priority member, it's tough to get tee times on the Championship Courses, and it's getting worse as the number of new courses in the southern area isn't high enough for the amount of new houses going up (and wow, did we see alot of new construction going on). Course conditions are hit or miss - Executives and Evans Prairie were beat up looking , but several others were in nice shape ( not sure why all the courses can't have similar conditions to Southern Oaks , which was really nice).
Activities: Wait lists for some of the popular clubs, some activities require getting there up to an hour early to reserve a spot.
Caveat - all these comments (really wouldn't call them complaints as all the people still liked living there) were mostly related to the Dec - March timeframe, which is understandable as it's peak season. But overall, I would say I've meet close to 40 couples over the years, and everyone has been friendly and nice and they all enjoy where they are. So maybe they would be in a new category - the Procon category.

Good video. Thank you James. An idea for a video is I'd love to see more of Eastport and the new models in the Moltrie Creek section. I'd also enjoy seeing the Village of Fenney. I heard it's beautiful. Thanks again.

Great Video. We just recently moved here this past winter actually it was the day after Christmas when we left our home in Massachusetts. We do miss our friends and family but what a great move. We are in the Village of Polo Ridge. We love it we even bought the golf cart that the family had when we purchased our house. But all we need is yo learn more is all the golf carts route to get around more. We do have the app for the phone but still get a little confused. But so far with all the activities the Rec centers and all the activities at the town centers its been a great decision to move here. Also already using our new Doctors and other medical stuff. I have to givr it all a 10.

That's so awesome! Congratulations!! For the golf cart paths, I find it easier to use Google maps and I put it on bicycle instead of car, and it takes you through all of the golf cart paths and tunnels. If you see me out and around filming, be sure to say hello.

@@alansaunders3727 I would guess it would mainly be golf courses that don't want The Villages residents (in their golf-cars) cruising the courses as I'd guess they're for the use of golfers (and their carts) only.

If you're retired and don't have anything else to do, it's fine if you have traffic and lake longer to get places.

Cons: not 55+, you can be 19 years old! 80 minutes to an airport. You pay amenities fees, strangers can use them, and you can't find parking. Bonds are a total rip off! There is no equity in it! It can be so hot, you can't sit on a golf cart! Duh!

Omg traffic is nothing compared to Washington DC beltway. lol. Easier to go out in your golf cart. Now eating dinner out at 5pm could be busy in January. And yes I’m not buying anything that bond.
