Peregrine Falcon Catches Pigeon - I FINALLY GOT THE SHOT!

- A Peregrine Falcon making a kill on the wing is footage I have been after for almost a decade. The Peregrine had been perched on a branch overlooking the river when I saw it take off and fly in my direction. It was clearly after something. The Peregrine flew over the road and locked onto a Rock Pigeon over the river which it just managed to catch by the wing, before flying back on the rock to pluck it.
A moment I will never forget.
Thanks for watching.

Love your channel! Are you one of the boys from Map Men?
Hurrah for the Falcon. Gorgeous birds.
Totally loved watching this excellent footage and the accompanying music is perfect. So exciting to watch.
Wow absolutely stunning camera work….to capture one of my two favourite birds of prey (the other being the goshawk) in action.
incredible footage- and what a flight! Well done and thanks for sharing!
Amazing footage and very well put together from beginning to end! Awesome!
Very cool stuff! Absolutely love these birds!
Used to watch them near the suspension bridge

Awesome capture!
Awesome and so beautifully fimed. Thanks for sharing. Big Like72
Great footage and editing. Can I ask a gear question: What camera and lens were you using? Also some of the peregrine shots are quite close up. Were they all of the same bird on the same day?
❤ Great capture
Remarkable footage👏👏
Excellent❤
I witnessed a strike like this while sitting in traffic on the Cross Bronx expressway in NYC. Nature is brutal, just like Robert Moses' parkway system.
Except the falcon isn’t evil, Moses was.
2:48 is a few seconds before it actually happens...
The percussive background track on this is so irritating I had to turn the sound off.
great footage but I had to mute the music which I really didn't like.

Catching prey over water can be dangerous for Peregrines, the weight and struggling prey can cause both to fall into the water, with tragic results, the Peregrine can drown.
