I’m new at plein air but love it! At a local park where I paint, there a small section of water away from the main body of water with some submerged rocks. It is beautiful. Your video hit on the exact questions and procedure of how to begin. I’m off to give it a go. Thank you so much for this video.
Thank Jim. The main reason I video my work is to encourage people in their own artwork so I'm really pleased you may try something like it. Good luck David
Hi. Greens are always a problem so you are not alone. My base green is Daler Rowneys terre verte and I add yellow, blue or brown as the painting requires. All my video tutorials are free which you can access through my website or youtube channel. I will be posting another landscape in the next few days. Kind regards David
Thanks bararanne. Thats very much appreciated. I have just uploaded my latest video where I paint a lioness that I saw when we where in Kenya. I enjoyed painting it. David
Love this painting, really useful seeing how you go about completing a painting. For the leaves what make were the back handle brushes that you were using?
Hi Bev. Thanks for your kind comments. The black handles brushes I use come from Rosemary & Co. I first met her many, many years ago when we were both exhibiting at craft fairs and I have continued to use her brushes. She sells internationally now, just go to her website. I use the Shiraz Pointed Round in a range of sizes, usually 1,2, and some 0's. I do use a lot of other brushes that I pick up at art shops as I'm constantly trying new options. I hope this helps. Let me know if you want any further help. David
Hi Bev. Thanks for your kind comments. The brush you mentioned was probably a Shiraz round by Rosemary & Co. Maybe a no. 1, 2 or 0. I use a lot of her brushes. Good luck with your artwork. Regards David.
