Contrast+ How to Paint: Imotekh the Stormlord

- Games Workshop have sent me the new upscaled Imotekh the Stormlord and it would have been foolish not to get him painted up right? It's been a while since we did a Necron and it was fun to revisit the old mechanical menaces again. Also that cloak is really really cool...

This is fantastic! Can’t wait to see how you do the Overlord with Translocation Shroud! The blending on that looks killer
Please please please do a monolith tutorial. Finally got one and would love to have a guide from you for it.
Damn Imotekh looks amazing, and that painting is next level I love it :D
Probably my favorite take on his cloak, looks great for the relatively painless method
Finally a necron!! :D
The emerald jade colour cape look so amazing ❤ i wonder if i blend it with Nihillakh oxide wil it look better especially his weapon
Makes me want to start a necron army
I hope Element games are giving you commission, I must have spent a pretty penny buying their GW paints to follow your videos 😅 thanks so much for all your uploads btw
Hey man, loved it! If you were to paint the cloak is blue, which contrast paints would you use?
Cool
When you wash the brush to blend are you literally just dipping it in water to get all the paint off and then bringing it back, or are you wiping excess water off on a paper towel?
The key is to give it a wash and then touch off the water. A piece of paper towel is perfect. It basically goes wash, touch off then blend as quickly as I do it in the video. You don’t want a sopping wet brush but you don’t want it to be bone dry otherwise by the time it is the paint will have dried. I don’t use a paper towel I use my lips to take off the water and restore the point but not everyone is as gross as that.
A question for that cloak and about your technique in general. When you do the blending between sections where you wash the brush and use it to blend a still wet color into another, do you dry the brush? It feels like you aren't by how fast it comes back, but at the same time having too much water on it would just wash away the paint instead of moving and blending it...
He's a brush licker 😛
I don't know if you answer questions. What would be the best method for fixing something when using contrast paints? for example if i put the paint on too thickly on a section of the cape and it's dried. i've read that it's a case of applying the base primer (grey seer) over that part and then redoing it... but being careful not to go over existing places that have contrast as it will darken them. any other tips for fixing Aeldari Emerald?
could you do a deathmark tutorial plz?
Necron man
Would you day "gauss belaster green" can work for the aeldari emerald replacement. Its never fun for the wallet to buy 1 shade / contrast for only 1 model 😢
Everytime I do the blending it ends up so streaky and the brush just like absorbs the paint instead of blending
Make orikan next plz ❤
Greetings
Why would you not use sub-assemblies for the cloak? All that work spent could have been very easily been ruined.
I agree and hope any newer painters heed this advice, however! Some painters just trust their brush control That Much to not worry about it (but yes, use sub assemblies it's a lot easier)
I just noticed the cape is the same scheme as a pride flag and I love him more now.
Zahndrekh seething rn because Imotekh got the mlm flag cape instead of him
