      Legends live forever - memories and art with them. Laiho was one of the most culturally and historically important musicians and the best guitarist in Finland. He had a natural talent and hard training as well as a desire to be the best in the world produced results and Laiho became the best metal guitarist of his time and even a pot guitarist. Laiho will be remembered forever as one of the most significant people in the world of the metal scene and the best guitar graters. Rest in peace, countryman🇫🇮🕯🕊

      I only gave CoB (among many other similar bands) a chance recently after shunning metal my whole life. This guy is my favorite composer and guitarist in the genre so far. Not necessarily the very best one (I don't play the guitar so it's hard for me to gauge skill accurately, although it's obvious that he was well above average to say the least), and I'm not a huge fan of the style he chose for most of his vocals, but I just love his riffs and solos.

Still looks like a beast although he put himself through hell with alcohol and drugs back then. The new song is amazing!!!! It's like a mix of Lil' Bloodred Ridin' Hood, Not my Funeral, Mask of Sanity, thrashed lost and Strungout, follow the reaper. The drums might be the best part and really compliment Alexi's riffs/songwriting. Guitar solo is melodic and technical as you'd expect from Alexi but Daniel even gets time to shine. Keyboards are pushed back in the song to accompaniment rather than being a lead instrument. It's sad how much potential this band had. Alexi still had so much more music left to give the world and judging from this song Bodom after Midnight would have had a long career. Going to have this on repeat for days 🤘
    It is awesome that Alexi was able to record two new songs before his death but its equally sad that this is the last music we will hear from him. I'm still in shock. Alexi was a guitar hero in every way who inspired so many with his music. He will be remembered.

    I nearly cried watching this. What a way to end off his career. I was so happy when I saw this song was nearly 5 minutes, I knew that we were in for a treat. I was so happy but also heartbroken that we got to see Alexi perform one more guitar flip at 2:50
    That nearly sent me over the edge that I had to pause and watch it again. I could hear several of their albums mixed into this one song. I could hear the melodies of Something Wild, the hatred riffs and chants of Hatebreeder, the vicious neo-classical harmonies of Follow The Reaper, the intensity and aggression of Hate Crew Deathroll, the heavy simplicity of Are You Dead Yet?, the chromatic chord progressions of Blooddrunk, the grooviness and rock of Relentless Reckless Forever, the technical heaviness of Halo Of Blood, the emotional and intense energy of I Worship Chaos, and finally, the heavy rock and roll sendoff finale of Hexed.
    Rest In Peace, our dear Alexi Laiho. You will never be forgotten. It was a pleasure meeting you, even if it was only once, but I’m so happy that I was finally able to tell you that I love you and that you are my inspiration and idol that I look up to. Thank you for telling me what my favorite song was about, even if it was personal to you, and even though you couldn’t say much about it, I’m still happy that I know the overall meaning.

      @@rosvopanda2905 We had any solid evidence of this? I've read the forum posts, maybe I just don't want to believe it, but the more I watch the video, the more it looks like he's smashed.
      The stances aren't his usual ones, his arm movements when punching the air look sluggish, his weird shaking (As if trying to keep balance), when he's leaning on Daniel he looks like he's about to fall over.
      Not to mention his lip syncing to the track are pretty off, and the way he mouths the words looks sluggish too.
      His guitar playing is out of sync in some areas, and the way he SLAMS the main riff looks so sloppy.
      I don't want to believe he's drunk here, but it's hard not to.

      @@daniellawless6216: I blame his new wife for his relapse. He was supposedly getting clean and then met this woman who wanted to live the rock and roll life. She literally had a gofundme up to pay for Alexi's funeral, but he was never buried. He was cremated. You don't need thousands of dollars to cremate someone...
      Look into what Kimberly Goss has to say. She was Alexi's first wife and he remained friends with her until the end.

    • @AquariusC
      @AquariusC 3 роки тому +6

      @@Charles_Anthony Why would you believe Goss? She has no leg to stand on when it comes to being trustworthy, showing up after Alexi dies to spam emoji hearts and act like his romantic partner. Alexi spent over a decade touring and smashing booze before he started to stop (which seems to coincide with Roope's issues and being kicked out). He stopped drinking, at least while touring. He spent his life damaging his own body and you want to blame this random woman whom he wasn't even able to see for likely a year or more. If anything Alexi was an alcoholic, tried controlling it, had trouble, and then Bodom falling apart and COVID isolation leg to drinking too much. It also seems like he had health issues from the drinking at least two years before he died. Look how damn skinny he was.

    • @Charles_Anthony
      @Charles_Anthony 3 роки тому +7

      @@AquariusC: My point still stands, why raise thousands upon thousands of dollars (i believe it was $44,000) from the fans, for Alexi when he was cremated? She literally robbed the fans and held a fake funeral. Goss actually has nothing to gain here by speaking her mind. Her band has been disbanded for almost twenty years now. It's not like she needs publicity or anything. Plus, I didn't believe her ar first either, but the more I read about Alexi's new wife (like her best friend claiming to be Alexi's best friend (the guy met Alexi once) saying some BS about how Alexi was going to "divorce Goss any day now" before dying is just ridiculous) and shows that she is BS. Goss and Alexi had been separated for almost twenty years. It's all just drama, but under the microscope, what Goss is saying makes sense.
      At the end of the day, it's needless drama, sure, but that's life.

      Same with me. Discovered them when I was 14back at the end of 2000 when follow the reaper was just released. I had no idea a guitar could be played the way he played. I was instantly hooked and he has been my favorite guitarist ever since with Bodom being my favorite band as well. After all that time I kind of looked at him like Ozzy, thinking he would be around making music til he was 100 or something. His passing was a huge shock, even knowing his health wasn't the best I guess its easy to forget that all rock stars are human. I will be blasting his music and playing cob songs as long as I can still play guitar and listen to music
