Anyone who says otherwise is delusional, downright moron, and should probably go listen to Britney Spears (whom Alexi did a great cover of, btw). Alexi was a musical genius and one of the greatest solo writers of all time. Composing Hatebreeder with all its grandeur at the age of 19 is sheer madness, and his legendary melodic runs will always remain unmatched. You could hear a solo and just know that this is Alexi’s doing. He will be greatly missed, but he will always be remembered through his legacy. Thank you for all the memories, Alexi!

My favourite band, ever since I was 15, meant so much to me and I genuinely feel heartbroken for the death of Alexi. His legacy will never be forgotten.
Still remember how I felt when I first discovered COB back in 2008 when I was 13. I was totally mind-blown. My first two songs were Everytime I die and Angels Don’t Kill. I Kept repeating them over and over again. The band has a special place in my heart and I still honestly believe they are the best in their genre. Their early releases are just legendary. Felt so sad when I heard that Alexi passed away .. that’s when I knew I’ll no longer be able to hear his unique melodic runs .. His legacy will never be forgotten.
My favourite band too. First song of them I heard in 1998, it was Deadnight warrior from some mixed metal CD. It was like ages ago but I still have goosebumps every time I hear it. Then I managed to get Hatebreeder and Something Wild on compact cassete! And immediately gone crazy of the stuff, they are still my favourite albums. Been on two concerts in Moscow in 2003 and in october 2019, who would have known that in just 2 months the legend will pass away.. So sad.. His songs will live forever in our ♥️

@@AquariusC They have been there dude! The lead sound used by Janne was very guitarish. Maybe that's why you didnt notice. If you are talking about guitar-keyboard unison (both playing together), its only IWC where probably only 2 songs had it (I, Hurt, Widdershins). Halo of Blood had 4 (Scream for silence, Bodom Blue Moon, Damage Beyond Repair, All Twisted). RRF had 7 (Not my funeral, Shovel knockout, transference, RRF, Pussyfoot Miss Suicide, Ugly, Cry for the Nihilist), Blooddrunk had 4 (Hellhounds, Blooddrunk, Tie My rope, Done with Everything) and so on. These are just songs that had both of them playing leads together. Solo duels (playing one after the other) was in almost every song.
I've been grieving many late rockstars in the past 20 years or so. And I'm fully aware that this band wasn't singing about rainbows and butterflies. But whenever a Children of Bodom song kicks into my ears it just grabs my heart and squeezes it hard. I wish Alexi had it better.

The ONLY band that I'm truly amazed every time they put up new stuff…like " daym , this is fucking good!"…CoB, you're fucking state of the art even after all these years and Alexi, you're a fucking god/genius
So sad I never got to see these guys live. I found out about them a year before alexi passed and listened to their entire catalog front to back and love this song the most. They were gonna tour about an hour from me and I was so determined to get an autograph from him on anything. A shirt, cd, my arm I didn't care. Still really sad about that. Rip Alexi

@@Heathshrdz24 yeah, they needed one more song the day they went into the recording studio, and they made it up that day. I dunno if it was completely improvised, but they hadn't written any part of it before the day it was recorded.
This is one of their best songs, as in the golden age of the band, but with an amazing quality of mastering / mix. Woao, please don't stop and make an album like this. With love, a long time french fan
C F In your own opinion. I’m my opinion they are near perfect considering that all albums made typically have four of five songs that are really good. Each COB album has at least 6+ songs I fully enjoy. No other band produces that consistently for my taste.
Alexi shared his beautiful craft which were those beautiful riffs, powerful vocals and relatable lyrics. This song is one of his latest bangers he pulled off and it looked he didn't lose his step. RIP Alexi. We, Bodom fans, are thankful for your music.
I first started listening to these guys nearly 15 years ago... they were still providing us with masterpiece after masterpiece. Rest easy and jam with Dimebag!
I've listened to this song 5 times since they have released it. It's given me chills every time. It's like I'm back in 2004 listening to an unreleased track. Can't wait for the rest of the album.
Children of Bodom have been my favorite band for 12 years now and I also like Halo of Blood, I worship Chaos and so on, but this really sounds like old Hate Crew Deathroll times again, which is my favorite album of all time. You guys really did an awesome job! I love it!
Well they were right when they said it would have a more rock and roll vibe. Not really sure about this one yet but it could grow on me. But hey still hyped for HEXED.
Lorrenzzo The magnificent I think it sounds very oldschool bodom and I have been listening to them since follow the reaper and I have All here CDs sooooo don’t know what’s wrong with everyone’s ears or they just don’t know what oldschool bodom sounds like
This song reminds me of the good old days, like Follow The Reaper and Hate Crew Deathroll. I hope the rest of the album also contains more or less the same vibe.
@@Underp4ntz_Gaming_Channel Alexi's interviews about Roope just seem to say that his laziness just made it harder to record, not necessarily effecting the song writing tho.
I was old school COB fan back in high school days, and I did not listen to their later records very much. Now I'm 35 years old. After Alexi's death I've started to listen to Hexed. And It was like time travel back in times when I first listen COB. It was the times when I first discovered extreme metal music and COB was part of it. And now those times are here again. That weird feeling when you first time listen to something as dark and as beautiful at the same time, and you are not sure if you love it or hate it. After some time all elements of this music becomes inseparable part of you, and you are not the same person as before. It will mark you for rest of your life. But now it's like if this period of my life is repeating again. Thank you COB and especially Wildchild for all of your contribution to music and for my childhood. Thank you, that I can feel what I've felt 20 years ago. R.I.P Alexi I will never forget.
i live in iran, i'm their number one fan here, really great band, they raise the flag of metal & beat anyone who says metal is weak. hail from here \m/.
Beautiful track. Has that badass youthful viking/fantasy vibe that I've always loved about bodom, Thank you to COB for continuing to make such beautiful music.
When I first heard this I wasn't so sure how I feel about about it. It was too happy or something but listening to it again it's great! Excited for the new album.
When I heard the first notes, which it sounded happier than the other albums, i was like: ''Is this a cover and they are doing a suprise cover album disguised in new album?'' But the verse starts!! Very good song!! Excited to hear the album!!
God damn, tears EVERY SINGLE TIME.. Lexi was truly the earth's last real Rockstar, as Venom would say "Lived Like An Angel, Died Like A Devil" You were more than one of us, you were born an engine of chaos. A sonic smearing maelstrom of whirling epiphanies, a damning honesty, a wrong for all the right reasons, a true wildchild.. one only here for a good time, not for a long time. And I applaud you for being you, no one out here is as real as it gets like you did. You truly were a musically deriving fallen Saint. I hope the next plane of existence is good to you, and for you. This world didn't deserve you, but you gave it away to it anyways. Love you man 🙏 thank you ♥
Yesterday we had Dream Theater with the new, and amazing track, and today we have Bodom with this a new song too. Sounds really cool, just missing a little more technical stuff, but still pretty good
@@KreshDraven6 Yeah I did and I didn't find it that good. The drums doesn't sound like a MIDI file but groove talking all he's doing is keeping a straight pattern with very little fills and he doesn't add anything to the song. His drumming is really boring, if we're talking about composition try to listen to some Portnoy stuff I find his so much better than MM in that.

Flashback from the night before
Was it the other day, I couldn't say
It's all coming in pieces
But before you know they just fade away
Goddamn! What did I hear, what'd I do?
Where did I go and how'd I get here?

Everything's soaked in sweat
Here comes the "forgive and forget"
Who should I forgive? Forget that plan
I really don't give a damn
Just need my fix, I'm dying
So break out the bottle and stop crying
And the calm washes over
My soul drying my tears
Under the grass and clover
A new sense of hope appears
Choking, breathing, exhaust
Hard to keep an even keel
Shot boiling mercury
It burns so bad yet I can't feel
Choking, breathing, exhaust
Hard to keep an even keel
Sweating, boiling mercury
It burns so bad yet I can't feel
Walking in a mine field
Hard to keep my eyes peeled
Shot to hell and fried
No heaven, evermore denied
And the calm washes over
My soul drying my tears
Under the grass and clover
A new sense of hope appears.

Everyday I wake up and I ask myself "Are You Dead Yet?" Now my pain is constant and sharp. I do not hope for a better world for anyone, in fact I want my pain to be inflicted on others.
way ahead of you dude
Even the Gods will bang their head as Alexi plays in heaven....
The ONLY band that I'm truly amazed every time they put up new stuff…like " daym , this is fucking good!"…CoB, you're fucking state of the art even after all these years and Alexi, you're a fucking god/genius
I like it...it sounds really good, cant wait for the full album

Love how this one was put together!!! I will forever play their music! My condolences
Rip Alexi
Lyrics:
Flashback from the night before
Was it the other day, I couldn't say
It's all coming in pieces
But before you know they just fade away
Goddamn! What did I hear, what'd I do?
Where did I go and how'd I get here?
I know... I'm too far gone
A deadbeat, a travesty so what's my next strategy?
Fuck me, there's blood on my hands
That's nothing new but now they're shaking too
Everything's soaked in sweat
Here comes the "forgive and forget"
Who should I forgive? Forget that plan
I really don't give a damn
Just need my fix, I'm dying
So break out the bottle and stop crying
And the calm washes over
My soul drying my tears
Under the grass and clover
A new sense of hope appears
Choking, breathing, exhaust
Hard to keep an even keel
Shot boiling mercury
It burns so bad yet I can't feel
Choking, breathing, exhaust
Hard to keep an even keel
Sweating, boiling mercury
It burns so bad yet I can't feel
Walking in a mine field
Hard to keep my eyes peeled
Shot to hell and fried
No heaven, evermore denied
And the calm washes over
My soul drying my tears
Under the grass and clover
A new sense of hope appears.
The Guitar solo sounds like it was actually written instead of improvised just like the older albums. GOOD SHIT!!
To be fair, Kissing the Shadows was pretty much improvised, and that has some of the best guitar/keyboard solos ever.
@@JeremyBarbell Really? Those solos sound like he put some time into them. My favorite album. Talented bastard ha
@@Heathshrdz24 yeah, they needed one more song the day they went into the recording studio, and they made it up that day. I dunno if it was completely improvised, but they hadn't written any part of it before the day it was recorded.
Next In Line, 03:43, album: Are You Dead Yet.
They did borrow elements from that solo, especially that part for under glass and clover.
Love the new old COB sound! *I'm hyped and HEXED!* 🤘
Been waiting for an album like this since 2004. Sounds Great. Deff going to see them LIVE!
OK
I jam to this masterpiece every damn day. You're sorely missed Wildchild Laiho. Rest in Power 🤘🏻
That snare sound though...perfection!
Heartbroken that I never saw these guys live. Alexi seemed like such a good person, rest in peace king 🙏
Me only once and had plenty of chances to see them more now i still regret it
This is one of their best songs, as in the golden age of the band, but with an amazing quality of mastering / mix.
Woao, please don't stop and make an album like this.
With love, a long time french fan

This bad is my teen years. Seen them 6 times and met alexi twice. Will always be close in my heart
Will never forget
These guys have never failed to produce incredible music.
From incredibly good to incredibly bland
C F In your own opinion. I’m my opinion they are near perfect considering that all albums made typically have four of five songs that are really good. Each COB album has at least 6+ songs I fully enjoy. No other band produces that consistently for my taste.
relentless for very forgettable as well
@@chrisaycock4456 Check out The Black Dahlia Murder, if you want another really consistent band.
R.I.P Alexi and thank you for inspiring millions. My heart aches.
New album sounds like it’s gonna be a banger! Love the album art.
Some say the main riff is happy but for me it sounds like aching eternity... So darkly beautiful with that exact sound they use.
Alexi shared his beautiful craft which were those beautiful riffs, powerful vocals and relatable lyrics. This song is one of his latest bangers he pulled off and it looked he didn't lose his step.
RIP Alexi. We, Bodom fans, are thankful for your music.
One of the most powerful metal songs of all times. The intro, the guitar riffs and the chorus are just out of this world...
I'm a ChOB fan since 1999, Tokyo Warheatrs introduced myself into heavy metal. I'm glad the band still kicking asses :)
Wow, a happy song from Children of Bodom! Different, but great. Definitely found a way to reinvent while still staying true. Good stuff, my dudes
*WELL THIS IS PRETTY BLOODY GOOD*
has those HCDR vibes. loving it.

WHY ARE WE YELLING?!
BECAUSE METAL IS JUST SCREAMING
I first started listening to these guys nearly 15 years ago... they were still providing us with masterpiece after masterpiece. Rest easy and jam with Dimebag!
Can't believe you are gone still alexi, miss you 🖤
I've listened to this song 5 times since they have released it.
I love it!
SAME
You have good taste. I'm right there with you my favorite band for at least a decade remain consistent.
my favourite band too! and i am really hyped to the new album! Im sure it will be good!
Well they were right when they said it would have a more rock and roll vibe. Not really sure about this one yet but it could grow on me. But hey still hyped for HEXED.
Lorrenzzo The magnificent I think it sounds very oldschool bodom and I have been listening to them since follow the reaper and I have All here CDs sooooo don’t know what’s wrong with everyone’s ears or they just don’t know what oldschool bodom sounds like
I think it has a really follow the reaper feel to it
WHEN I WISHED 2021 WILL BE GREAT, I DID NOT EXPECT THIS
RIP ALEXI
How dumb are you?
Great energy, great show!! Saw them multiple times in Pittsburgh. Glad to have at least saw them a few x. Rest In Peace brother.
Wonderful surprise! Greetings from Bulgaria! Keep on rocking!
Literally, Children of Bodom happy version.
Even I thought the same thing in the beginning but it kinda grows on you
YEEEp! Teh same feeling, kinda Last Christmass started with Downfall
You haven't heard hatecrew death roll haven't you😂
Happy metal channel is out of work here... :)
Hate Crew Death Roll is a very happy sounding metal album, especially Bodom Beach Terror!
This song reminds me of the good old days, like Follow The Reaper and Hate Crew Deathroll. I hope the rest of the album also contains more or less the same vibe.
i agree. its not as aggressive as the older stuff, but the riffage screams og bodom fo sho
Lol what? Are you comparing this to FTR? Are you serious?
@@IsUserADuck me comprende you... lol
Yeah, this sweet oldskool taste :)

Has that badass youthful viking/fantasy vibe that I've always loved about bodom, Thank you to COB for continuing to make such beautiful music.
now I get what this song, soon departed and this road are all about...
His diagnosis of only having a year or less left to live. Yes. Sadly. Loved this guy.
Died like a real Rockstar 💔 tho.
Bodom is back! I just love this song and I love the video, since I see a lot to my metal hero Jaska Raatikainen!
When I first heard this I wasn't so sure how I feel about about it. It was too happy or something but listening to it again it's great! Excited for the new album.
You can't kill the metal
The metal will live on
Grunge tried to kill the metal.......THEY FAILED!!!
Techno tried to defile the Metal... But techno was proven wrong
We are so blessed to have this masterpiece left from Alexi…❤❤❤❤ Rest in peace Alexi, you are a legendary angel..❤❤❤
Farewell Alexi... May all gods be with you where ever you are...
When I heard the first notes, which it sounded happier than the other albums, i was like: ''Is this a cover and they are doing a suprise cover album disguised in new album?'' But the verse starts!! Very good song!! Excited to hear the album!!
Rest In Peace Alexi. Legend 🤘I’m heart broken today
God damn, tears EVERY SINGLE TIME..
Lexi was truly the earth's last real Rockstar, as Venom would say
"Lived Like An Angel, Died Like A Devil"
You were more than one of us, you were born an engine of chaos. Love you man 🙏 thank you ♥
Seeing Bodom Live was really something else, this video brings back awesome memories haha
Been listening to this a lot lately, I think he knew his time was coming. RIP Brother.
There’ll never be another like him
You are correct. That was a once in a lifetime guitar experience he took us on.
Yesterday we had Dream Theater with the new, and amazing track, and today we have Bodom with this a new song too. Sounds really cool, just missing a little more technical stuff, but still pretty good
Agree, the new Dream Theater song is pure gold
At least the drummer is alive here
Did you heard the new track ? Mangini sounds great, much better then in the last two records
Can you imagine DT and CoB on tour together? I mean DT has toured with Opeth and Trivium. I would literally travel anywhere to see that. C'mon!
dont think there will ever be a band like children of bodom ever again
not heartbroken anymore, after all this this time still holding the image of Alexi and spreading the power!!!! we'll never forget you man!!!
Love You Alexi. Miss You man.
