video about How to Change The Coolant in a 2011 Toyota Corolla! Coolant Drain and Flush! Zerex Coolant! - Авто та транспорт
I have the same 2011 toyota carolla 136k miles. Not sure what coolant is already in there but it is pink so i bet it is the Toyota 50/50. Do you think i need to do a flush or is just draining it good before adding more?? Thank u for the instructional vid.
draining is fine, if the coolant is really old you could always drain and fill now and then drain and fill again about a year later to get even more of the old coolant out, a flush also is fine but takes a lot of work, I would just drain and fill twice to get very similar results
Did you fill up the radiator first, then the expansion tank ?
Also when you fill up the expansion tank, do you do it with cold or hot engine ? Do you also fill up to FULL ? Thanks,
yes fill up the radiator first, run the car with radiator open to the special funnel, once you have run it 20-30 minutes with the heat on all the air should be bled from the system, you can then fill up the expansion tank, would recommend filling up the expansion tank right after you finish running the car so the engine is at least a little warm, I dont fill mine up to full I just fill it up midway but you could fill it up to full if you wanted, you just risk overflowing it if you go up to full, if you have a leak though down the line you may be glad you filled it up to full, thanks for commenting and make sure to subscribe and have an awesome day!
Sooo..... You cant just top off the coolant fluid?
If brought to a garage would they do all these steps or just top off?
they would do all these steps, they might even do a full flush, the coolant gets acidic over time and will eat away at your head gasket causing you to have a blown head gasket if you do not change it, make sure to subscribe and have an awesome day
Thanks!!

did you drain the block?
no, this was just a partial drain an fill, will probably repeat the process this year to get even more new fluid in, draining the block requires considerably more effort
What it says on...toyota TIS.....toyota technical info stream website....the correct procedure....
