I love it as well, it means no one is out of it if they go risky. If you bet the Raiders over Chiefs on Christmas last year you would have got 13.5 points.

Wildes, the upset alert scoring is very easy to understand, and having standings helps the audience feel more invested in the segment.

0:55 i did the math and based on that scoring rule its optimal to pick a 6.5 to 7 point underdog which has around a 1 in 4 chance of upsetting
that gives you about 2.75 points on average
If you pick a 0 pt underdog you get 1.5 points on average
If you pick a 3 pt underdog you get 2.42 points on average

Keep Nick's rules but take off the starting 3 points just for picking a winner. It's not necessary if you're only picking upsets.

Just gonna throw another voice in that's in favor of Nick's rules, as a person who hosts a variety of leagues across a ton of different mediums from gaming to sports, people don't like having so much fine print but it helps incentivize proper play (like Brou not picking a bunch of 1 point favorites) and invests both viewers and "players" into the stakes of the competition. 1 point for a cover, 3 points + the spread for a win, elegant and easy.
I love Nick's scoring system and I hope they have a graphic for it next time
