I love that you play it ‘dirty’ as I put it. So much of music is discipline, exactitude, abeyance. The fact is, even the Classical ‘masters’ wanted musicians to add their own personal color, and when they couldn’t, they wrote etudes (aka “solos”) for them.
This channel has help me so much and has encouraged me to make a channel too. Well when I get better at the guitar. But what I am trying to say is thank you for the encouragement and help. You and Lindsey are awesome. Thank you Marty, and soon when I get better I am going to play on the kids church team. So thank you now I can play worship. Thank you, Rhetts Rifff
Marty you have helped from my guitar journey from day one. From stating Playing acoustic guitar, then learning to play electric guitar some rock song a few of your ac/dc, and latter getting into improvising with how to use a looper. Thank you for your hard work.
Always something informative on this channel. Every video from songs lessons by well known artists to stuff like this one with just giving ideas to scales and licks. Just cool informative stuff on this channel and I always get new ideas when I watch some Marty Music
Been wanting Marty to do more blues licks videos for ages.... looks like he's palmed it off to Lindsay XD I could relate to these licks so easily because they're already the kind of ones I play. Great to see Lindsay's take on these.
Those are good licks. The old Chuck Berry lick is a great place to start learning blues and rock lead guitar. The major 3rd is the bridge between major and minor pentetonic.
Hello Marty / Lindsay , Love all the videos of this channel ❤❤❤. Please do make a video on , how to practice guitar for long hours ? When i play guitar for more than a hour , i feel shoulder pain and also neck pain in spine . Watching you guys sit so comfortably and play guitar , feels awseome to watch.. Please share us the secret to playing guitar for long hours , which you guys do . Looks like you guys never faced any backpain or neck / shoulder pain practicing guitar . Many thanks.
Yes, Lindsay!!!! ...and a Strat, not a Tele...you can play that thang!!! 'Loving the double-stops, too. Great vid, covered some ground with this. ...Crossbow
I would love my daughters to pick up a guitar but they’re just not inspired by middle aged men in hats (no offence Marty, I’m one too!). Marty is a constant inspiration and it’s great to get a different perspective on the same channel.
stop treating women like objects, she is literally just trying to teach a lesson and it’s so disgusting that this is the first thing you thought and commented.
Favorite country/blues riff: Only Daddy That’ll Walk the Line By Waylon Jennings. Hey Marty, check out Mdou Moctar for some great African rock style electric guitar playing
hey Marty can you give a lesson with the song behind the clouds from brad paisley and then a hard version please not only chords but also some difficult and lovely things in it, I hoop you understand what I mean. thank you very much greats from the Netherlands
Yes - but in B minor. Its also the start to countless other solos. She is teaching beginner licks. She has her own style of playing, a whole pop country thing going on. Not my cup of tea but she is definitely very talented from what I've seen after Marty added her to the lesson lineup. Hey Lindsay - how about showing us how to use a looper to come up with that song you did for Taste of Country?
Hi Lindsey, love your licks. I‘m still not so fast in following the order 🙈 could you maybe add the note order. Just simple like G7,G5,... That would be perfect!
Great video- learned some cool licks. Just wish you'd explain everything you're doing. At 4:00, explain the "finish it however you like" licks that you're doing. On lick #1 at 3:41, you also mention that you "cut it off," how do you do that? Don't take my level of suck for granted! EDIT: You actually do explain those "finish it however licks" by lick #2. I retract my criticism! Great work
Hey marty, can you cover a song called screw by the sharks? It's a bit different than what you are use to playing and maybe even listening to. I'm sure you'll have fun with that one.
Killer sounds from her guitar! Perhaps I just learn things a touch slower. Good info for sure, and I love the sound that she is playing. I'll have to watch this a few times to get things to click for me. Keep on making music!
Lindsay Ell for the win! Comment below with YOUR favorite country/blues riff... Don't leave us hanging.
My favourite riff is "dum diddly dum diddle diddle dum". 🤘🧐
Hey Marty could you do more linkin park guitar lessons
She’s not that good 🤐
@@michaelsguitarcovers8497 but she teaches pretty good
Throw in some Tennessee Whiskey.
This Chanel has taught me more guitar than any teacher ever had. I truly believe your purpose is to spread joy and teach music. Keep Rockin’
Awesome lesson. I'm working on playing by ear.
Just got a Telecaster, after having my Ibanez for 10 years, loving it so far. Marty’s catalogue of tutorials here are gonna keep me busy. Thank you.
Looks like Marty is making good use of the lockdown to fill in the gaps in our musical knowledge! Good job! 👍

Great vídeo. I’ll watch again later and practice. I love Lindsay videos. Keep having her, Marty!
Using the blues note, to go between major and minor pentatonic, that little bit of information just unlocked the fretboard for me, thank you Lindsay!
Been wanting Marty to do more blues licks videos for ages.... looks like he's palmed it off to Lindsay XD

Beautiful playing and beautiful player!
Great video
I’m about to get my first electric. So I’m so excited
If you can afford it, go for the Ibanez az242f. Such a versatile little beast. Have fun!
TheTAzo7 I’ve got a low budget due to COVID. And my guitar teenager recommended a Yamaha Pacifica so I’m going with that
Never a frown squier vlassic vibes are the best cheaper guitars
@@neverafrown6308 Yamaha Pacifica is really good. it's my first electric too. which model are u getting?
That’s such a gorgeous Strat. Great video Marty and Lindsay. Awesome licks that I can practice. 🤠🎸🤘
Always been a fan of country guitar, and there are so many licks that define the style! Awesome work as always!
Thank you Lindsay and Marty, great licks!

Well I know what I’m doing this week. Congrats on the new album Lindsay - you should be very proud!
Lindsay is one hell of a player 🤘
Fantastic job Lindsey. I learned a lot from your class. You are a great teacher.
Thank you Linday, great lesson ;)
I love using the second link. I like your way of finishing the phrase
Thanks, Lindsay! Another great lesson😊👍🎸🎸
These little seasoning things for your playing are so great. I do so much boring stuff in that a minor box.
Lindsay is the kinda person to persuade you to pick up the guitar, simply amazing.
Nice guitar playing
And now... in response to a previous video, Lynday Ell proceeds to teach us "Making Something from Nothing"!!!!
so position 2 of the pentetonic scale would be major for key. learn something new every day. Awesome work Lindsay
Absolutely amazing! Thank you sooo much. Lindsay you are the best. Thank you

Wow! I just learned lick 4 thanks for the lessons! So fun!
She's not only good at teaching ... She's a great guitarist and a beautiful woman xxx
Loving the idea of working with only 5 notes. Fun to be had!
Excellent video.
I would love my daughters to pick up a guitar but they’re just not inspired by middle aged men in hats (no offence Marty, I’m one too!). Marty is a constant inspiration and it’s great to get a different perspective on the same channel.
Have them check out Mary Spender ... Good player, great singer.

Thanks! Simple and clear lesson. And shout out to Chuck Berry!!!

Beautiful tone and guitar 🎸 😍
The first lick is the beginning of the solo in Money by pink Floyd

Hey could you do a lesson on 46 and 2 by tool? or any other tool songs :)
How do i get that tone on my Squier strat??? 😥
Limiting yourself to five notes for lead playing practice is an ingenious idea. I’m almost ashamed I haven’t thought of that before
Hey marty, can you cover a song called screw by the sharks? It's a bit different than what you are use to playing and maybe even listening to. I'm sure you'll have fun with that one.
Do you think you could explain how to play okay it's on my channel and me and my freind did it we are just starting out and need some help
