we used to have WWOOFers (Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms) come and stay with us in New Zealand I would teach them our kiwi dishes and we would cook dishes from their countries This is one that stood out for me when introduced to it by one of our Swedish travellers sounds weird and unconventional when you're told all the ingredients but sooooo yummy - made it many times over the years
Hey Bhargav, thanks for your comment. 😊 I am currently in Thailand and will be posting videos about that soon but I'll make sure to post more Swedish dishes as soon as I travel to Sweden. 😊👍
this is a traditional (now) kids-meal from the seventies when people mixed all sorts of crazy things together. My theory is that its a seventies style fusion-dish from Africa or the caribbean (?) maybe, but using cream instead of coconut-cream and bananas instead of plantains perhaps. Chilisauce instead of scotch bonnet maybe. Since we didnt get that in Sweden back then. I never had the cream whipped on there before thou, I always remember it as having a really runny gravy
Hey Marta, that sounds interesting! I guess I've had cow stomach before but don't really remember. I'll pop it on my list of things to try 😁 thank you!
Hey Vania, great to hear you will try the recipe 😊 You can flip the Swedish Sauce with regular ketchup and put some spice into it. Of course you could use tomato paste it will just taste more of tomato instead of curry and the sauce will be thicker in the end. 😊 Let me know how it tastes. Hope you enjoy!
That's exactly what I thought at first 😅 but it's actually really delicious. Don't knock it till you try it. 😊 Any other weird dishes you have come across?

Go ahead Zena! It's still one of my favourites from the Swedish cuisine. 😊

I hope you enjoy it! Let me know how it went 😁
Have you ever tried this dish? What is the craziest meal you know from your country that tastes amazing and sounds funny at first? 🙂

Hey Marta, that sounds interesting! I guess I've had cow stomach before but don't really remember. I'll pop it on my list of things to try 😁 thank you!
The guy that invented the dish was working in SAS Cargo as a pilot...
Thanks for your input, Andreas :-)
Okay - My question is why hasn't my Swedish wife or my Swedish in-laws ever introduced me to this?!?
Well, ask em 😂
It looks yummy new friend here
Video starts at 1:35
heard you can replase the chicken with either pork or sausage
That sounds interesting, I could imagine that works. 😊
I will try this meal, but I can use a simple tomato paste because in Mexico we don't have the Sweden sauce?

Thanks, and I let you know when try this meal. Greetings from Mexico.
It would probably be better to use a salsa fresca or other tomato+chili sauce, because that's what's in the Swedish sauce.
A year later, but the felix chili sause can be swapped for example Heinz chili sause or regular ketchup as Eileen said.
Sriracha sauce works really well too
A bit tacky but then a bit hipster-ironi as years went by ..the most guilty pleasure food in Sweden
the swedish dude has a bunch of hickeys
Seems to be having a good time in Berlin
one of the grossest things ive ever seen...you cant be serious with this ???
That's exactly what I thought at first 😅 but it's actually really delicious. Don't knock it till you try it. 😊 Any other weird dishes you have come across?
@@EileensKitchenStories Does chicken and spaghetti sound weird to you? That is a favorite chicken dish of mine.
@Nils Elmquist, hmmm I wouldn't say weird really. There are many dishes that combine the two and I love it 🙂
It’s not that weird. Banana goes well in savory dishes sometimes.
I used to know some Swedish people and they made this all the time.
