Excellent! It is a master's stroke to come up with something original that right away sounds like a classic, but I reckon you have pulled it off. Kudos, sir!
My favorite book made into my new favorite song. I grew up surrounded by the shadows of the whalers. I’ve been to New Bedford on many occasions, and I’ve been fortunate to visit Nantucket as well. I’ve sat in the Seamen’s Bethel, surrounded by Queequeg and Ishmael’s metaphorical ghosts. Just down the path from me is the grave of one of the sole survivors of the doomed whaler Essex.
As the nicest like (wink), I gotta say: this is another in a long line of fantastic songs. I discovered you through your cover of “The Idiot,” and, when I got to your original verse at the end, I knew you were someone to keep an eye on. So far, ya ain’t proved me wrong.
Oh, I do love Seth & his work inside and out. As a former lit major and lifelong avid reader, I'm partial to this story. But, Seth Staton Watkins, I'll pester you to tears until you agree to cover Luke Kelly's 'The Night Visiting Song'. That one just rips the heart out of even old IRA men I know. If it can make those boys cry, you know it's powerful. Though tender and sweet also. Irish music at its finest.
It's a beautiful song fitting of an even more beautiful novel, or should I say a Shakespearen prose poem. Another great original giving new to live two great things beautiful
I’m geeking the f- out right now-I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! I read it and I’m so excited to have this!!! If you ever feel like talking deeper meanings I would love to hear your thoughts-there’s so much there…
Wow this is probably my favorite yet! This song would be a great way to introduce students and any new readers to the book.
@@Inkngold I agree that readers would appreciate this; but I might show it to them after the fact-there are major spoilers here!

Love your musical storytelling, Christmas tale or otherwise. Always powerful and musically superb!
My first experience of this group! Marvelous! I have read Moby Dick, or The Whale over 70 times and this song is a marvelous synopsis.
Just making sure you know, but it's just the one guy 😇
I'm finally going to read Moby Dick now.
Love this song Seth! Wonderful as always! ❤🎉
Thank you!
