Why is bail on a traffic warrant $4000?

Bonding someone out of jail only requires a percentage of total bond amount. That said,

4000 dollar traffic violation sounds like a major crime.

This does not happen in Norway or Denmark, where people are treated like people. But also there is lower crime in those countries, perhaps because of lower population.

Norway and Denmark outsource their 'violent' prisoners to other EU countries. the easy to handle ones on short stay, get to stay in dorms. The ones they don't want to bother with are put in prisons in UK, France, and Netherlands

@chrisleaf Majority of US violent crime according to FBI is gang related. Here 35% of gangbangers are Black(13% of US population) and 47% of gangs are Latino( at 17% of the population). Gangs in Denmark and Norway are generally Muslim immigrants. Since only 4% of Denmark is Muslim and 3% of Norway? They will not have volume of gang infested Welfare slums and crime US has until Muslim population hits 30% to line up with our gang demographics population.

The State needs to stop paying per diem for inmates to the county at least a day after bond is posted. We'll see how fast they cut them loose then

a lot of people here are missing the point. You are to be released when bail is paid. its in the constitution. that sheriffs dept is breaking the law. also everyone is innocent until proven guilty

Four thousand dollars $4,000.00 bail for an unpaid traffic violation first offense(?!?!) and then her niece wasn't released. Say what? Vehicular homicide? Car Jacking?
This same excuse was used decades ago with jails and still going on..
They are understaffed. They dont have people to handle all the necessary departments.
To be locked up for days over parking tickets when murderers and carjackers are released within 48hrs. Even by judges.

My people paid my bond in the am I didn't get released till a hour before midnight so they most definitely take there time.
i would want to be refunded for the extra days because the money falls off everyday so bail is lowered when it's on a fine

Mom always said, "bad things happen in jail!" She would have told me that I shouldn't have been there to begin with!
People are not in jail for tickets. It might help if families cared about their sons and daughters before they become habitual criminals.
There is no traffic ticket that requires a $40,000 bond. I don’t know why the media is so concerned about people who terrorize society.
Well obviously something is going on. Regardless of why someone is in jail, if they are due to be released then they should be released. And stop stereotyping jailed people as terrors to society. Not everyone there is there for a violent crime 🙄
You know nothing about this corrupt county. The police target , and the courts inflate fines and charges for TRAFFiC. You'll think its a ticket, then end up with a bench warrant.. then jail,... then probation. All from a stop sign ticket.

Nah you’d be surprised a cop gave me 3 traffic tickets and my probation fees were $3,0000. And they will definitely lock you up over a ticket
