I was a told by a Nathan fan that Lucas really didn't love Elizabeth, he was just using his money to deceive her into marrying him. Then they insulted me by telling me I only loved men with money. That isn't what it looks like to me. Elizabeth came from money, don't you think she could see through that? I think they are watching a completely different show than I watch.

He was changing for Elizabeth if they remember in season 9 and 10, trying to celebrate the "little things" instead of large gestures. But, he was my Lucas because he adored me and did wonderful things for me. You don't have to have a lot of money to do kind, loving gestures for someone you love. Yes, I agree, Elizabeth sure seemed like she loved him and got over him way too quickly. That makes her worse than Jeanette in my book.

I'm with you. I could really care less what Elizabeth does. She's become men, fickle, and juvenile. I had my real life Lucas and no one could have pulled me away from him. That's why it bothers me so much that they broke them up. To me it's extremely mean. I hope for a better story for Lucas. I only watch the show because of the great acting job Chris does. Other than that, nothing about it appeals to me.
The chemistry between the two of them was amazing. Whether they were joking around, having fun or just showing their love it was a beautiful believable love story. One that deserved a happy ending. Instead we got the end of my wanting to watch It took all the joy and hope out of Hope Valley for me.

It's not only a great love story, it is IMO the most beautiful love story ever portrayed ever on TV! Much of that due to great writing! The chemistry between Erin and Chris is explosive!! This magic doesn't come along every day!!

Each time I brought up valid points, they deny and say something ridiculous and then want to cut me off. They still don't see the truth behind what happened. That narcissism spirit is blinding these people. They despise Lucas for no reason. He as done nothing worth criticizing. There are so many things we see wrong with Nathan and they refuse to agree with that. In general, he may have some good traits, but I don't notice them because the dislike towards him being with Elizabeth is too much for me.

If was producing a movie about royalty or the Victorian era, I would choose Chris for that role as the main lead and rich man. He is so suitable for that. I would not choose Kevin as his appearance doesn't fit the role. He is more suited for those average modern day kind of man.
Lucas was always supportive as he challenged Elizabeth to become the strongest version of herself with her writings. He didn't pressure her..he let her make the first moves with him because he loved & respected her. To ruin this love story was unbelievably wrong ...

This was beautiful and yet broke my heart at the same time. This was where the series ended for me. I couldn't bring myself to watch her decide now it's always been Nathan. Especially after watching such a perfect example of Lucas and Elizabeth's love story.

She will live in fear and worry all the time if she marries him. I guess that’s the life she will enjoy and she will put her son in fear too. Chris said he never planned to leave WCTH. But if his new movie Tipline Mysteries becomes a series, he might leave the show. Although he never said it. We shall see. If LB is gone from the show, I won’t watch it anymore.
Yes best love story ever. I think this could be the last season. There is no way they can make it seem real between Elizabeth and Nathan. Absolutely no chemistry. There was never anything between them so now they will try and manufacture it. Won't work.

I can't believe anyone that watches this doesn't believe Elizabeth isn't in love with Lucas. Season 11 Elizabeth seems fake like she's trying to be someone different. They had so much passion and so much fun together. Lucas was also so good with little Jack. It was so easy to see he truly loved him.

I have watched a lot of shows except for maybe daytime soap like Y&R. I have never seen anyone break up the main couple after 5 yrs . Anyone else watch the 100 ? That show went into crazy territory the last 2 seasons. Main couple never got together 😢. They could of done so much with the Elizabeth character as the governors wife .

I'm still upset at the chopped up mess they've made of this transition. They've treated it like a cheap piece of meat - easily put in the dumpster. They were absolutely gorgeous together and he made her swoon with love over and over because of the man he was. We went from "This is what I want, to be here with you and Little Jack" to "I think I found my calling in politics." Oh come on....do you think we're that dumb to buy it?
I think the same way. Lucas never mentioned he’s into politics, Lee did. Lucas didn’t run to be a mayor. Lee, Hickam, and Bill did. The way they made Lucas into politics and said he’s the only one Hope Valley has, doesn't make sense. They made him become a governor only (slowly) to get rid of him.
I totally agree with you. No matter what they wrote for Season 10, it would have been horrible because they were taking a beautiful, loving relationship between Elizabeth & Lucas & changed that relationship to a ridiculous, unbelievable story! Lucas & Elizabeth's dialogue was completely out of character. From Elizabeth being madly IN LOVE & wanting to marry Lucas to thinking she made the 'safe' choice & has ALWAYS had feelings for Nathan! Absurd...every time Nathan talked about taking Elizabeth to dinner she gave him an irritated look....she was ANNOYED with him. And you're right about Lucas & politics! He never, ever thought of politics as his 'calling'!! Ugh, still makes me so angry to think intelligent people wrote these stories & expect intelligent viewers to believe & enjoy such an outrageous storyline.

IMO Chris always looks great in whatever he wears….from a Tux to shorts….Now regarding WCTH…..I starting watching Season 6…..know very little about the other seasons….only from clips that were shown…..from S6 all I could judge was Lucas’s demeanor or that of Nathan’s….depending on what kind of individual you are……Do you prefer a man whose poised, intelligent,independent, humorous and a great conversationalist and very ambitious and loving or the other….I am not saying he doesn’t have good qualities but somehow for Elizabeth they were not as appealing……and….. Be Honest…..the SPARK was JUST not there….The writing on S10 was so OFF ….you could feel it and I believe the actors were somehow quietly feeling
You should see more scenes of Lucas and Elizabeth especially on S8 & S9. The kisses they did were deeply passionate. They look like a real couple. You feel the steam through their chemistry. Chris is a shy guy. He is sometimes awkward according to Kavan. Chris is more introverted compared to Daniel and Kevin. Daniel and Erin were a real couple back then. So it wasn’t difficult for them to do intimate scenes. Kevin is Erin’s best friend. They always hang out together. Of course, it will be easy for them to build a chemistry. Chris did a great job playing Lucas. His character is opposite to his real personality. He and Erin are only friends. They don’t hang out because he has a kid to take care of. Chris puts his heart and soul into playing Lucas and he nailed it. It wasn’t easy to build chemistry, especially with someone who only sees you as an employee. Kudos to Chris for doing his job professionally.
@@priscooper7166 I only started watching WCTH early this year. I was at the end of season 10. I love watching LB. I Love the character and the actor.I also love their love scenes. As I went back to watch the beginning of the seasons, I came to the conclusion that the first 5 seasons were the best. ET and JT were in their best characters and DL was a very good actor. I fell in love with JT character. I just wished that he never left WCTH. I now have no interest in watching WCTH unless the writers find a new love interest for Lucas.
@@JosieParanal Jack is the best and so does Lucas. I watched this series for 10 years. I watched since season 1 in 2014. I like Jack and Elizabeth’s stories and I like more of her with Lucas. Lucas and Elizabeth’s love stories are different yet beautiful. Lucas is being a rich man yet he also has a good heart. He helped many people, especially Elizabeth. He is not arrogant or snobbish. He encouraged Elizabeth to write again just like Jack did. Little Jack also loves him. I also hope Lucas will find his new love and I hope the writers will find the perfect woman for him. I prefer a new character who can balance his romantic gestures.

It is sad how the writers changed her character to become a player. She should stay single after her husband died.

I think she and the people in the town were selfish. They only cared for the town and not so much for Lucas.

Minha opinião: Na sexta temporada, Elizabeth claramente está mais inclinada a gostar mais de Lucas do que do Nathan. Nathan representa o Jack e ela precisa deixá-lo ir. Na season 7, a situação se inverte e, como ela se aproxima mais de Nathan, o sentimento dos dois começa a crescer mais e ela tende a se afastar de Lucas, embora aceite os dates com ele. Na season 8, o romance de Nathan e Elizabeth atinge o seu auge, de forma tal que eu (mesmo sendo team Lucas) fiquei surpreso de ela escolher Lucas no final. Porém, ela o fez e nada no último episódio dá a entender que ela não está seguindo o coração. Ela finalmente percebeu que ela estava vendo Jack em Nathan e seus sentimentos eram por Jack, não por ele. Ela deixa Jack ir e seus sentimentos reais de amizade por Nathan se manifestam, juntamente com sua paixão e amor por Lucas. Vale ressaltar que foi ela quem saiu correndo atrás de Lucas e o convenceu a não deixar HV. Na season 9, que eu particularmente não gostei muito (mesmo sendo Team Lucas), tivemos o amor deles desenvolvido e crescendo. Na S10 há claramente uma mudança de direção na história. (Creio eu que o showrunner deva ter mudado e ele não assistiu a 8a e 9a temporada). Eles retomam os personagens como se estivessem na s7 (com Elizabeth ainda confusa sobre seus sentimentos por Nathan) e ignoram todo o desenvolvimento até aqui. Fazem um retcon na decisão dela de escolher Lucas (contradizendo o que ela mesma escreveu em seu diário) e fazem-na parecer uma pessoa de moral duvidosa, afinal, ela não era obrigada a correr atrás de Lucas, pedi-lo para ficar, pressioná-lo para se noivar dela somente para terminar com ele depois. Eles tentaram fazer um paralelo entre Jack/Nathan, Lucas/Charles, mas não era assim que os personagens foram desenvolvidos ao longo das Seasons. Na season 8 é feito um paralelo entre Nathan/Rosemary (na época que ela era rival da Elizabeth pelo Jack). Ou seja, ele não era o amor da vida dela, ele só era inconveniente. "You loved jack for a season, Nathan for a reason (he reminds her Jack) and Lucas, is a love for a lifetime" - Rose, s8 Se ela tivesse escolhido Nathan na s8, seria uma decisão que eu não gostaria, porém seria plausível. Mas fazê-lo agora é injustificável. Os roteiristas e showrunners vacilaram.
You make a good point. I agree. From S6 toward almost the end of S8, Elizabeth wasn't sure what her heart was calling. She kept back and forth between Lucas and Nathan. They both have qualities and not-so qualities. At the end of S8, she finally realized who was her heart calling for. It’s Lucas. I agree with you for mentioning she pressured Lucas to get engaged in S9. She even told him she loved him while he was sleeping. No one pressured her to marry Lucas. She did it to herself because she was so in love with him. In S10 her heart was all over the place. Everything started crumbling. Why all of a sudden she doubted herself to marry Lucas? Her grieving and her son asked for his dad. I thought she missed Jack and she hoped Jack would give a blessing for her to marry Lucas. After Nathan visited her, she held Jack’s hat and she stared at his picture. That scene shows she sees Jack in Nathan. Her PTSD of losing Jack was struck when she realized Nathan was in danger. It confused me at the end she dumped Lucas for Nathan. Why did she choose a man who brings Jack on him? So she chooses Nathan so she can see Jack? It’s unfair to Nathan. S10 shows she doesn't know what her heart is calling. She might have no answer about who she wants. She lost her sense of reality after Jack died. For me, she should stay single and raise her son by herself. In her mind, Jack is irreplaceable.
Gostei muito dos pontos levantados! Infelizmente, eles regrediram o arco da personagem. Provavelmente os escritores não saberiam o que fazer depois de ela e Lucas se casarem, quais histórias contar e como manter o show vivo depois disso (pura falta de criatividade). Então decidiram trazer essa reviravolta, por mais que isso seja um retrocesso na personagem. Eu não ficaria surpreso caso, em uma eventual s12 eles resolvam mudar de novo a decisão dela ou mesmo trazer um terceiro homem para disputar o coração dela.
Vale lembrar que em When Hope Calls, jack abençoa o relacionamento dela com Lucas. Será que Abigail não contou isso para E em alguma de suas cartas? Lol

They could bring the story about marriage problems, raising kids, bad men from Lucas’ past threatening, how Elizabeth would manage to be a wife and a school teacher, what Lucas would do being a businessman that he had to travel and leave his family for a while, etc. There are many stories to tell. Instead of doing those, the writers choose to bring a new blossom from a new couple. Viewers will get bored because they use similar scenes from the previous seasons for E&N. They should create new romantic scenes for them.

i've only ever watched series 1-8 but i got fed up waiting for what happened next and this has made me want it so much. But I can't easily watch it in the UK 😢
My parents-in-law are not happy with the new direction of the show. They love Nathan but they hate Elizabeth’s behavior. My mother-in-law said Elizabeth acts like a teenager. It’s embarrassing. They wonder why people in town seem okay with Elizabeth’s behavior. They won’t watch WCTH anymore.

I was a told by a Nathan fan that Lucas really didn't love Elizabeth, he was just using his money to deceive her into marrying him. Then they insulted me by telling me I only loved men with money. This is so beautiful it made me cry. They crafted one of the most beautiful love stories I have ever seen and in an instant destroyed it as if it had never existed. S10 stole my joy in this show and I don't know if I will be able to bear to watch it again.

I have watched a lot of shows except for maybe daytime soap like Y&R. I have never seen anyone break up the main couple after 5 yrs . Anyone else watch the 100 ? That show went into crazy territory the last 2 seasons. Main couple never got together 😢. They could of done so much with the Elizabeth character as the governors wife .

Agree. Although they are only friends, they nailed playing the characters. Those kisses were proof of how good they were in acting.
I'm still upset at the chopped up mess they've made of this transition. They've treated it like a cheap piece of meat - easily put in the dumpster. They were absolutely gorgeous together and he made her swoon with love over and over because of the man he was. We went from "This is what I want, to be here with you and Little Jack" to "I think I found my calling in politics." Oh come on....do you think we're that dumb to buy it?
I think the same way. Lucas never mentioned he’s into politics, Lee did. Lucas didn’t run to be a mayor. Lee, Hickam, and Bill did. The way they made Lucas into politics and said he’s the only one Hope Valley has, doesn't make sense. They made him become a governor only (slowly) to get rid of him.
I totally agree with you. No matter what they wrote for Season 10, it would have been horrible because they were taking a beautiful, loving relationship between Elizabeth & Lucas & changed that relationship to a ridiculous, unbelievable story! Lucas & Elizabeth's dialogue was completely out of character. From Elizabeth being madly IN LOVE & wanting to marry Lucas to thinking she made the 'safe' choice & has ALWAYS had feelings for Nathan! Absurd...every time Nathan talked about taking Elizabeth to dinner she gave him an irritated look....she was ANNOYED with him. And you're right about Lucas & politics! He never, ever thought of politics as his 'calling'!! Ugh, still makes me so angry to think intelligent people wrote these stories & expect intelligent viewers to believe & enjoy such an outrageous storyline.

IMO Chris always looks great in whatever he wears….from a Tux to shorts….Now regarding WCTH…..I starting watching Season 6…..know very little about the other seasons….only from clips that were shown…..from S6 all I could judge was Lucas’s demeanor or that of Nathan’s….depending on what kind of individual you are……Do you prefer a man whose poised, intelligent,independent, humorous and a great conversationalist and very ambitious and loving or the other….I am not saying he doesn’t have good qualities but somehow for Elizabeth they were not as appealing……and….. Be Honest…..the SPARK was JUST not there….The writing on S10 was so OFF ….you could feel it and I believe the actors were somehow quietly feeling
You should see more scenes of Lucas and Elizabeth especially on S8 & S9. The kisses they did were deeply passionate. They look like a real couple. You feel the steam through their chemistry.
Chris is a shy guy. He is sometimes awkward according to Kavan. Chris is more introverted compared to Daniel and Kevin. Daniel and Erin were a real couple back then. So it wasn’t difficult for them to do intimate scenes. Kevin is Erin’s best friend. They always hang out together. Of course, it will be easy for them to build a chemistry. Chris did a great job playing Lucas. His character is opposite to his real personality. He and Erin are only friends. They don’t hang out because he has a kid to take care of. Chris puts his heart and soul into playing Lucas and he nailed it. It wasn’t easy to build chemistry, especially with someone who only sees you as an employee. Kudos to Chris for doing his job professionally.

@@priscooper7166 I only started watching WCTH early this year. I was at the end of season 10. I love watching LB. I Love the character and the actor.I also love their love scenes. As I went back to watch the beginning of the seasons, I came to the conclusion that the first 5 seasons were the best. ET and JT were in their best characters and DL was a very good actor. I fell in love with JT character. I just wished that he never left WCTH. I now have no interest in watching WCTH unless the writers find a new love interest for Lucas.
@@JosieParanal Jack is the best and so does Lucas. I watched this series for 10 years. I watched since season 1 in 2014. I like Jack and Elizabeth’s stories and I like more of her with Lucas. Lucas and Elizabeth’s love stories are different yet beautiful. Lucas is being a rich man yet he also has a good heart. He helped many people, especially Elizabeth. He is not arrogant or snobbish. He encouraged Elizabeth to write again just like Jack did. Little Jack also loves him.
I also hope Lucas will find his new love and I hope the writers will find the perfect woman for him. I prefer a new character who can balance his romantic gestures.

The writers made Elizabeth doesn't know what her heart is calling. If she was in grief because of losing her husband, she would not have chased another man after she dumped Lucas. Her action didn’t make sense. It is sad how the writers changed her character to become a player. She should stay single after her husband died.

@@JosieParanal I saw that. I thought it was weird she walked with him to the train station with bare hands. Lucas must have been distracted and he didn't pay attention. All their friends didn’t even say any words seeing Elizabeth walking with no suitcase. They perhaps knew that she would stay and she let Lucas go by himself. I think she and the people in the town were selfish. They only cared for the town and not so much for Lucas.

Minha opinião:
Na sexta temporada, Elizabeth claramente está mais inclinada a gostar mais de Lucas do que do Nathan. Nathan representa o Jack e ela precisa deixá-lo ir.
Na season 7, a situação se inverte e, como ela se aproxima mais de Nathan, o sentimento dos dois começa a crescer mais e ela tende a se afastar de Lucas, embora aceite os dates com ele.
Na season 8, o romance de Nathan e Elizabeth atinge o seu auge, de forma tal que eu (mesmo sendo team Lucas) fiquei surpreso de ela escolher Lucas no final. Porém, ela o fez e nada no último episódio dá a entender que ela não está seguindo o coração. Ela finalmente percebeu que ela estava vendo Jack em Nathan e seus sentimentos eram por Jack, não por ele. Ela deixa Jack ir e seus sentimentos reais de amizade por Nathan se manifestam, juntamente com sua paixão e amor por Lucas. Vale ressaltar que foi ela quem saiu correndo atrás de Lucas e o convenceu a não deixar HV.
Na season 9, que eu particularmente não gostei muito (mesmo sendo Team Lucas), tivemos o amor deles desenvolvido e crescendo. Novamente nada indica que ela não estava seguindo seu coração ou apenas apostando no seguro. Até porque, nada com Lucas é seguro. Ele é constantemente ameaçado, sequestrado e violentado. Novamente, Elizabeth pressiona Lucas para pedi-la em casamento, mostrando seu sincero desejo de passar o resto da vida com ele (parece que os roteiristas da s10 se esqueceram disso).
Na S10 há claramente uma mudança de direção na história. (Creio eu que o showrunner deva ter mudado e ele não assistiu a 8a e 9a temporada). Eles retomam os personagens como se estivessem na s7 (com Elizabeth ainda confusa sobre seus sentimentos por Nathan) e ignoram todo o desenvolvimento até aqui. Fazem um retcon na decisão dela de escolher Lucas (contradizendo o que ela mesma escreveu em seu diário) e fazem-na parecer uma pessoa de moral duvidosa, afinal, ela não era obrigada a correr atrás de Lucas, pedi-lo para ficar, pressioná-lo para se noivar dela somente para terminar com ele depois.
Eles tentaram fazer um paralelo entre Jack/Nathan, Lucas/Charles, mas não era assim que os personagens foram desenvolvidos ao longo das Seasons. Na season 8 é feito um paralelo entre Nathan/Rosemary (na época que ela era rival da Elizabeth pelo Jack). Ou seja, ele não era o amor da vida dela, ele só era inconveniente.

Se ela tivesse escolhido Nathan na s8, seria uma decisão que eu não gostaria, porém seria plausível. Mas fazê-lo agora é injustificável. Os roteiristas e showrunners vacilaram.
You make a good point. I agree. From S6 toward almost the end of S8, Elizabeth wasn't sure what her heart was calling. She kept back and forth between Lucas and Nathan. They both have qualities and not-so qualities. At the end of S8, she finally realized who was her heart calling for. It’s Lucas.
I agree with you for mentioning she pressured Lucas to get engaged in S9. She even told him she loved him while he was sleeping. No one pressured her to marry Lucas. She did it to herself because she was so in love with him.
In S10 her heart was all over the place. Everything started crumbling. Why all of a sudden she doubted herself to marry Lucas? Her grieving and her son asked for his dad. I thought she missed Jack and she hoped Jack would give a blessing for her to marry Lucas. After Nathan visited her, she held Jack’s hat and she stared at his picture. That scene shows she sees Jack in Nathan. Her PTSD of losing Jack was struck when she realized Nathan was in danger. It confused me at the end she dumped Lucas for Nathan. Why did she choose a man who brings Jack on him? So she chooses Nathan so she can see Jack? It’s unfair to Nathan.
S10 shows she doesn't know what her heart is calling. She might have no answer about who she wants. She lost her sense of reality after Jack died. For me, she should stay single and raise her son by herself. In her mind, Jack is irreplaceable.
Gostei muito dos pontos levantados! Infelizmente, eles regrediram o arco da personagem. Provavelmente os escritores não saberiam o que fazer depois de ela e Lucas se casarem, quais histórias contar e como manter o show vivo depois disso (pura falta de criatividade). Então decidiram trazer essa reviravolta, por mais que isso seja um retrocesso na personagem. Eu não ficaria surpreso caso, em uma eventual s12 eles resolvam mudar de novo a decisão dela ou mesmo trazer um terceiro homem para disputar o coração dela.
Vale lembrar que em When Hope Calls, jack abençoa o relacionamento dela com Lucas. Será que Abigail não contou isso para E em alguma de suas cartas? Lol

They could bring the story about marriage problems, raising kids, bad men from Lucas’ past threatening, how Elizabeth would manage to be a wife and a school teacher, what Lucas would do being a businessman that he had to travel and leave his family for a while, etc. There are many stories to tell. Instead of doing those, the writers choose to bring a new blossom from a new couple. Viewers will get bored because they use similar scenes from the previous seasons for E&N. They should create new romantic scenes for them.

i've only ever watched series 1-8 but i got fed up waiting for what happened next and this has made me want it so much. But I can't easily watch it in the UK 😢

My parents-in-law are not happy with the new direction of the show. They love Nathan but they hate Elizabeth’s behavior. My mother-in-law said Elizabeth acts like a teenager. It’s embarrassing. They wonder why people in town seem okay with Elizabeth’s behavior. They won’t watch WCTH anymore.
