Elizabeth is always nosy. In S6, when Dixon was looking for him, she came into the saloon while the saloon was closed. Dixon and his friend made her a hostage. Same happened in S11. She was looking for Rosemary. Lucas put his body between Jeanette and Bill. He wasn’t scared if Jeanette would shoot him. He even asked Jeanette to let Rosemary and Elizabeth go. He cared for all his friends while N only cared for Elizabeth in that moment. Lucas is indeed a good man. He is also the man of his word. He keeps his promise and try the best to make everyone safe and happy even though he’s the one who has to sacrifice a lot.

S9 is written by JT and S10 is written by LS. They are two different writers and two different visions. JT would never make Lucas as a governor. We never saw him involved in politics. Bill, Lee, and Hickam do. Instead of choosing Bill, Lee, or Hickam; LS chose Lucas so TPTB could get rid of him from HV. In S9, Lucas said HV is his home. He also made sure Elizabeth that he would not move her and LJ from HV. Lucas and Jeanette were in a relationship in the past. He doesn't love her anymore. He has changed but Jeanette has never been. The idea to shoot Lucas was from her. Although she didn't mean to hurt him that bad. She is also Casimir Shaw, the famous mob. That name hurt lots of people.
