- QANTAS CANCELLED, gave me a middle seat on JETSTAR! Melbourne - Singapore
Every epic journey begins with a single flight. Nothing like a flight cancellation to start off your long trip. QANTAS cancelled this flight a month out and the option was to leave a day earlier with Etihad, or Jetstar on the same day. Going with Etihad would have screwed up all our reservations (hotel, rental car etc) so we stuck with a same day departure.
Is Jetstar economy class as bad as people make it out to be? We aim to find that out in this video.

Ryan, your frankness, honesty and production quality really show UA-cam as a great provider of information at its best. I was intrigued regarding Jetstar’s using Asian crews who are paid in their respective currencies. I’m assuming this is a legal practice and Australian workplace laws give them no protection?
I, and I hope those watching this vlog will give politeness and appreciation to these Jetstar crews in future. The airline industry seems more than ever inclined to squeeze blood from a stone to achieve profits. I wonder how far this culture will go?
Looking forward to the next leg👍
JQ was created by Alan Joyce outside of the protection of unions. Asian bases are perfect for them because of their lower cost. I'm still trying to understand the Singapore base because their pay is no different from their Aussie counterparts. 🤷
@@ryansofly And there you you have it, the key words: Alan Joyce🙄. Historically they called past events in Northern Ireland “The Troubles”…maybe these recent years in Qantas should be called “The Troubles”?😉
@@james7149 I don't see QF TROUBLES to be over any time soon. They have an incredible uphill task ahead.
Looking forward to traveling with you virtually again, Ryan. It is a shame that QANTAS continues to treat its customers (and staff) with such indifference and it is one of the reasons I try to avoid, where possible, to fly on them.
See you in the next episode! Thanks for watching!
Love to fly again but been stuck in my room for 5 years so i get to watch you fly everywhere thank you.
Well, thanks for your support! See you in my next video!
I love your reviews and your sense of humour. Looking fwd to the rest of the trip
Thanks for watching!
Years ago I booked QANTAS from NZ, via Sydney, to Vietnam and was unaware the Sydney-Vietnam leg would be on Jetstar. I was given similar 'full' service but had people around me wondering why I got 'free' what they had to pay for. The return flight was all QANTAS.
Yeah the guy at the window seat was wondering why we were given these "freebies".
Thank you for this amazing review 😊 I have friend cabin crew in Qantas and his attitude forward passengers is terrible ! Like he is doing favour to passengers on his flight ! I am sure this crew will provide amazing service what Australian crew is lucking today ! They only care about money and benefits they get from Arline ! Have great time in beautiful Malta !
Thanks for watching!
Epic journey ahead...looking forward to the rest of the trip! I would like to take this chill kit with me on my next Low Cost flight from Singapore to Jeju in May!!!
Sorry la Cikgu.... The giveaway is unfortunately only for those who live in OZ. Perhaps in time I can afford to do it for international viewers! Thanks for watching anyways! 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Fantastic video. I’m flying Jetstar to a Singapore for the GP in September on a reward seat so good to get an insight into the flight and what to expect. Loved your comment about Nonna and her lasagne! 😂
Look, JQ is fine for what it is as far as I'm concerned. The issue is when things go wrong (ie cancellation). That's when support is very poor as they do not have the resources to deal with it.
Thanks for another great trip report Ryan. Thinking of traveling to Japan on Jetstar. Think this video might help. Oh would love the amenity kit to add to my collection.
Howdy Jen, your name's been added to the draw. What's your Instagram handle?
@@ryansoflyI was so original I used the same as here jenruska. 😂
About a year ago, I was booked on Jetstar SIN>PER. They didn't end up starting that flight again, so I was rerouted SIN>DPS>PER. Then, about a week before departure, they cancelled the SIN>DPS flight, and only gave me an option of flying SIN>MEL>PER. There were no other options (long weekend, flights sold out), so I took it.
Land in Melbourne and come down with a case of food poisoning (from the Jetstar flight), and board my flight back to PER. End up throwing up in the lavs and the FAs kicked me off the plane. Am asked to get a medical certificate to fly again, keeping in mind this is a Friday public holiday before the weekend.
Will not be doing that again.
Oh no, flying while spewing must've been horrible! Hair did they find out you were sick? How did you get back to Perth?
Hi Ryan looking forward to your future videos in Malta, France, Italy and Vietnam.
More to come! Stay tuned!
Im looking forward to the rest of the videos, especially the malta ones im going there in march, thankfully not flying either qantas or jetstar there, always delays or cancellations with them 2 every time i travel with them
Malta is beautiful... I'd go back there in a heartbeat.
I’ve flown JQ7 and JQ8 and honestly I couldn’t fault Jetstar. We departed on time, service was fine, seats were comfortable crew were great, food was good.
I’m flying Qantas to LA in 4 weeks and back home as well. I haven’t flown with them internationally for many years. I’ll see how they rank with the rest.
Curious question... On JQ8, what time do they light the cabin for the 2 meal service?
I was more anxious about punctuality so I booked my connection from Melbourne to Sydney at 2000p😅😅
@@ryansofly if landing is 0615, then meals are maybe at... 0430a or so. I'll find out in a couple weeks
Same. I'm doing Circle Pacific... SIN MEL SYD LAX YYZ. But I'm breaking journey by chilling in Sydney for two days
I travelled Jetstar once from Sydney to GC, I booked it thinking it would be bad, but I was pleasantly surprised, we left on time, the staff were pleasant. The only thing the queue to drop baggage was a bit slow but I think that was people not knowing what they were doing, so with my long queues expectation I accepted that. That was 2018. Now you have me thinking it’s a good possibility for Perth to Asia. Sounds fine to me.
I use JQ a lot to shore up my QF points and status credits. They're useful like that.
@@ryansofly good idea 👍
Love your videos Ryan! The content, and needless to say your humour! I grew up in Singapore, just like you did, but would not be so brave as to be so very optimistic when flying a LCC long haul so you might as well give me the Chill Kit coz I will never receive one myself (LoL!!) but am an aviation-geek (sort of) who loves collecting aviation memorabilia! Too bad I don't live in OZ... yet.
Ha! Fellow Singaporean ah! Hahaha.... Sorry, this giveaway unfortunately is only meant for Aussie residents... Perhaps in time I might do a giveaway for my international viewers? Meantime, kamsia for your support! 🙏🙏🙏
Great video Ryan.. I don’t have a problem with comfort on Jetstar 787’s, entertainment screens to watch movies a plus compared to Scoot & Air Asia, it’s the delays and cancellations & I’ve encountered a few. The worst being Jetstar’s Melb to Ho Chi Minh City direct flight being a 13 hr delay & loss of a nights accommodation in Vietnam. The Singapore flight used to be terrible with delays but has got better recently. I’m travelling shortly with Jetstar from Cairns to Osaka so fingers crossed.. $288 return to Japan from Cairns as return for free sale was on when purchased.
Looking forward to your ongoing travel videos.. safe travels Ryan..
Yeah I too never had a problem with JQ. Lots more to come!
I think post Covid that every flight booked is a gamble, like a game of Two-up! Come in spinner! Seriously, I can't comment on Jetstar internationally, but I have flown with them domestically, and believe it or not, I have had less grief with Jetstar than I have with Qantas, especially Qantas-Link, which has to be the most inefficient, over-priced and shoddy carrier of any in Australia at least. I have had the least hassle domestically with Virgin (despite the so-called statistics), after that Rex, after that Jetstar and after that Qantas and the pits are QantasLink! Overseas, Singapore airlines are very good still! British Airways are the worst I have encountered! I honestly think all airlines, domestically or international, are nowhere near as good as they were pre-Covid!
I used Jetstar a lot to shore up my QF points and SCs. Sadly, whether we'd like it or not, QF's frequent flyer program is the best in the country, with Velocity coming in at a far distant second. Simply because QF, as part of one world has a better international reach. I'm using my QF points to Sapporo later this year so I can see snow, and no way I'm flying QF to Japan. Instead, the points got me a seat with China Airlines via Taipei. I will never ever fly QF international if I can help it.
I did this flight last year and had a middle seat. TBH had no issues with jetstar at all and quite liked it. Looks like the plane was sitting there just waiting before the flight so there was no delays or anything at all.
I got their package with the double carryon weight and meal included. Was actually a great experience for the price.
Can't say the same of when I flew Jetstar to Tokyo.
That's the thing about JQ... They don't have a lot of resources to handle a flight in crisis. That's why they're so cheap.
Welcome back home, Ryan...
Thanks mate!
Dear God, I'm starting to panic!!! I'm traveling Australia to Rome later this year, business class. I've always thought Qantas was one of the best airlines in the world, but recent videos are opening my eyes. I'm 70, use a walking frame because I have a very bad back and travel alone. There is no way I could be downgraded to an economy seat. I don't even travel economy between Melbourne and Adelaide!! Fingers crossed, all will go well.🤞🤞
It's not difficult to understand how Aussies seem to think Qantas is the bees knees by default, because they run a very slick marketing campaign to shape our minds into thinking they're the best. But they're not. There are lower tiered 3rd world airlines out there who offer so much more for far less. I surely hope they won't be downgrading you from business into economy class, unlikely. But even with business class, you should really manage your expectations.
@@ryansofly I think I already have. Next trip, next year will be with Emirates.
I can go to the app and change the seat by paying for it.
@@copa-jungle-jet4030 you cannot do that in this case unfortunately because this flight wasn't booked with JQ
Love this, I have travelled to Japan on Jetstar & then back via Changi airport on Scoot. Jetstar was a million times better than Scoot. No inflight entertainment, I had my laptop but it cost a lot to buy Scoot wifi. It was a red eye flight so tried to sleep in my sardine can. Can I please be considered for the Chill Kit? 😊

wow, u can buy nearly 3 jetstar tickets or 1 qantas. and ur video didnt make jetstar seem that bad. thank you for a very good video
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching.
You flew Xmas Eve. So did I, to KUL then SIN, ADD and JRO. Couldn't get our boarding passes for the next sectors until KUL. On the way back flew via SIN on all Star Alliance carriers, but Ethiopian couldn't give us boarding passes for Singapore Airlines.
Sometimes it makes you wonder with all these alliances, it's supposed to be seamless. 🤷
Thank you for sharing your experience seating in the middle seat. Well, I saw the gentleman beside ypur on your right (the aisle seat) person looking over to your tray, planr and camera!!! I just don't need everyone looking breathing and sometime sneezing in my f@%king food!!! That is a problem!!!!😮😮😮
When I have flown in Economy Class long-haul on many the USA airlines, I always try to seat at the Exit Door area seating. The legroom is what I need. And then in Premium Economy seating I like the first row right behind Business Class. That way I will not have some crazy person sitting in front of me pushing back there seat while I an trying to eat!😮 Plus my knees will not be hit from a person in front of me either!😮😊
The aisle seat passenger is my husband

Hahahaha... It's really not that bad!
I booked with qantas points for my daughter to fly from adl to lax and without noticing she was going to on jetstar to syd then american airlines to lax. Yet for the same points you could travel all the way with qantas. What bugged me though was that i had to pay on jetstar and AA for a seat yet for qantas it would havd been free. Qantas phone people basically said bad luck as i booked it. Not apples for apples for the same points.
Yep, same here. QF is like tough luck. You booked with AF, not our problem. AF was like this is a QF issue, not our problem. 🤦
I stopped flying BA to Sydney or Melbourne as 1st stopover then next on Qantas to Adelaide now I travel on Qatar
I remember the good old days when BA flew to ADL BNE PER and MEL from Changi. These days only the SYD flight remains.
Look at muh-eeeeee! Another good video Ryan!
Thanks for popping by, mate!
Recently my family were booked onto Singapore Airlines BNE to Davao City Philippines. The leg from BNE was very good, what we expected from SIA, however we were then stuck onto their budget airline Scoot for the flight to Davao. No entertainment, shorter leg room, mediocre hotbox meal and no drink service eg alcohol drinks which was provided on the previous airline SILKAIR, now defunct. Scoot would be good if you paid budget fares but we paid full SIA fares. Disappointed.
Did you know at booking it would be Scoot in the shorter sector?
Unfortunately there are some domestic sectors in Australia where you have no choice but to fly Jetstar but international flights for me it’s a no go ! SQ all the way, no QF or JQ !
SQ is in a league of their own
I have never been tempted to try Jetstar! The low pay for the flight attendants disgusts me. They deserve the same pay the Australians get. Thank you for the video!
Suppose it is easy for us to say that, and I'd like the same for them too. But you and I know it's a lot more complex than that. As long as there is a willing parade of bargain seekers, Jetstar's pay structure will have a place in our society.
Yeah I cancelled a Qantas flight and they still have not processed my refund yet it has been a month lol
Oh no.... Hope it gets resolved soon.
I flew QF36 from Sin-Mel last week and i'd say you had a better/newer plane
I agree 💯
Ryan looks to me like you got a very good flight. Even if you added on all the extras you got and paid for it all, starting at a base fare of $271 it's hard to see it getting close to $795, which is more than ScootPlus costs for the same leg. I must say in general I have found Jetstar have better cabin crew than Qantas too. Even the Australian based crew seem to have more perkiness and positivity about them. They are younger - Qantas crew I feel have been around for ages and perhaps they are tired of the job or the company. As you brought up in a video, cabin crew are very poorly paid. And if they are based in Thailand etc thats just the excuse Qantas looks for to spend even less money. Great review. as always. you are single handedly changing my views on JetStar whilst reinforcing my already held views on Qantas!
FYI, AUD271 isn't even the base fare. This fare is with frills (QF points, SCs and meals). I've personally never had a problem with JQ. I could be lucky.
As airport staff you can always identify Jetstar passengers with Qantas tickets when they disembark….they always look grump and dissatisfied.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Very good point, the SE Asian flight attendants are quite different. The difference is pay is completely deplorable.
Your "back chat style" is very Aussie! Blame the Qantas CEO from Ireland. Go Air Asia they don't serve food in cardboard boxes...
I actually don't blame Alan Joyce. He was hired by the board to do a job, and he did it very well. I miss Air Asia's Nasi Lemak... So good.
Flew JetStar CNS to Tokyo on the 787. Returned Qantas to BNE on A330. The JetStar flight was far superior for service & comfort. Will never fly Qantas International again. Next International flight is with SIA.
Yep, I felt the same.
Should’ve tried to change everything to Christmas Day, that’s when we left Melbourne for Darwin and the airport was quite emptier than usual
Nah, I've learnt not to screw around with flights so close to Xmas. Plus we had hotel bookings, car rentals etc which would have been affected.
Oh yeah true
Jetstar eco flights from nz to Aussie are like old buses with wings cramped and uncomfortable for passengers and crew if pigs could fly I would be on one!
@@mondeowawa2494 you get what you pay for, I suppose.
Thank you Ryan. This review has me a bit concerned that something similar might possibly happen to my wife and myself. In April we are flying Sydney-Incheon and return in economy. I booked Qantas (QF87) for two reasons: it is cheaper than Korean Air/Asiana and uses the A330 with 2-4-2 seating which is preferable for us. My concern is that there is also a Jetstar flight (JQ47) at almost identical times. We don't have much leeway with dates should QF87 be cancelled, so we could possibly be looking at an experience similar to yours. Hopefully not but the advice in your video will be quite valuable should we be affected!
There is so little difference between QF and JQ these days with their economy class product.
Strange you should mention JQ47! See below! 😏
ua-cam.com/video/RRIdaqOLgNY/v-deo.htmlsi=RQQ_jUxUTxezMlFY
I actually took QF87 only a couple of months ago (around the endpoint of all the drama surrounding Qantas). The flight was actually relatively positive (at least exceeding my expectations). The seat was fairly comfortable (pretty wide coming in at around 17.5 inches) + the footrest below the seat (yes in economy!) The crew were relatively quiet but still came around and did snack services and did their job pretty well. Qantas’ A330-300s feel no where near as cramped as Jetstar’s 787-8s I presume. The biggest and possibly only noticeable benefit you might find on Jetstar’s Dreamliners is the noise level as the A330 is quite a loud plane even towards the very back. I’m assuming that Qantas’ own 787-9’s (used on the longer flights but not QF87) are a better experience nowadays than the A330 as the measurements and features seem quite good considering it’s an economy product on a Dreamliner. I must say though that Jetstar certainly seems to be catching up to Qantas possibly in addition to the latter’s recent downfall and the difference may not be enough that it may be worth the cheaper price on Jetstar. Hope you enjoy your experience no matter what!
@@TheMergeBuff45 the -300 is definitely a better ride compared to the -200. The latter is domestic configured but QF has cheekily used them as far as HNL and LAX. Tsk...
@@ryansoflyI always knew the 200 had a domestic config. I believe they do have an international configuration as well, or well at least I think so. That one is a little bit better than the domestic version but still not as good as the 300. At least with the 300, there is only 1 configuration (besides the wet-leased aircraft from Finnair), so you know what you’re getting. I have however also seen 200s recently on QF87 so be prepared. That’s just a cheap move from Qantas however equipment changes do happen a lot so there’s that, but I’m still not a big fan of the move especially if you stated that they keep breaking down. Back in September when I took my flight on QF87, there was a 200 at the gate and that got me concerned at first until it was eventually on a pushback truck and my 300 came in. It’s important to note that Qantas will be getting rid of their A330s from 2027 onwards in favour of the Dreamliner and the A350 (both of which should have better products unless if Qantas makes the cost-cutting move of installing 10-abreast on the A350 in economy).
@@ryansofly Interestingly, I have trip planned to the U.S. with a stop in Honolulu on the way back, and I’m still heavily considering using Qantas for that sector. At least according to Google Flights, they’re saying that flight will be operated by a 787 instead of the A330-300s they’re usually using on that route currently. It wasn’t a Qantas flight being operated by Jetstar but really a fully-operated Qantas flight, so it may seem that the A330-300s are going to be fazed out on that route like QF25/26 to and from Tokyo. They’ll sadly just probably make an equipment swap to A330 anyways but it could be interesting seeing Qantas’ 787-9 on that route especially considering that Jetstar also operates their 787 on that route. It may test which one is better although it’s probably the Qantas Dreamliner considering that it supposedly has a better product even over the A330-300.
I do prefer the 2 4 2 of the A330 over the 3 3 3 of the B787.
You got a point there. Now if only the A330 wasn't breaking down so often.
After the experience I had i'll never fly JQ again.
wow, personally never had any issue with Jetstar and I've been flying with them internationally since they had the A330's
JQ is fine by my books. The only issue is when something goes wrong. They have little to no support.
Interesting to see!! I have booked to. come from Singapore in July to Melbourne and then Launceston. Hopefully I won't get cancelled or changed. I'm flying the red eye too. I hope I don't get a middle seat. The price comparison I think I paid $1330 so looks like I am paying a lot more the trip from Melbourne to Launceston. I thought it was safer to book. them together though. Do you know if they supply kits on quants economy for red eye? I am not sure what to prepare. Keen to be in the running for yours 😀
QF does not give amenity kits in economy class. As long as you satisfy the 3 conditions for this giveaway, I'd gladly put your name in the draw. What's your Instagram handle?
Ryan .... I can appreciate you flying low cost carriers but my days of doing so are long gone. Qantas = Shitstar = Qantas (no difference imo) regardless of the cabin crew. I used to be an avid supporter of Qantas but not anymore. I'm so looking forward to seeing how you manage the indirect route to Malta ... direct being with Emirates via Dubai. It will be interesting to see what Air Malta serves you on your flight. I only got 1/2 a sandwich between Rome and Luqa (Malta) back in 2018. Can't wait to see where you stay in Marsalforn as I stayed in what I called "Fawlty Towers" Hotel Calypso ... lol
Really looking forward to next weeks episode and welcome back :)
This video is meant to showcase how far QF has fallen, the fact that they're now no different to JQ in economy. Next episode, you'd see the challenge I have at CDG trying to get to my flight with Air Malta. Stay tuned.
I SAW Calypso Hotel in Marsalforn! Man, that hotel looks very interesting! Hahahaha.... A lot of Marsalforn is very run down. Think COVID did a lot of damage.
I may be under some confusion, and correct me if I'm wrong, but QF35 on the 24th of December 2023 went ahead in the end. So that begs a question... why did Qantas cancel the flight and re-book you if QF35 actually went ahead in the end?
That was what I thought.... ! I saw it up on the FIDs but there was no status to it so I assumed it was cancelled. Now THAT is a question for QF then. We booked it a year in advance so that is a mystery.

These seats are actually standard economy, similar seats to other regular airlines.
@ryansofly1624 the a380 has more room. I've done both planes to the UAE and the Airbus is much better.
Qantas? what more need you say?
They did not even give me a chance to trash their economy product. 😅
Perhaps they caught your previous video, and this was their response.
Haha nah... Their A330s keep breaking down
The worst airline I have ever been on
They are Australia's most hated airline.
Still better treatment than Singapore Air I reckon. Don’t believe me? Talk to the countless PPS Solitaire members who lost lifetime status due to a policy change. And don’t get me started with the lounges at Changi! A disaster! Makes you want to fly Qantas or JetStar out of there so you can at least get the QF Flounge
You know, SQ is one of those airlines who can treat their frequent flyers like shit and people will still grovel their way back.
Hi Ryan
Not getting free alcohol on Jetstar is not good enough. Write to the CEO Hudson and demand a partial refund for the lack of availability on your bumped flight.
Nah, ain't gonna happen... It's QF.
Kinda pretentious thinking I'm gonna actually "want" and "compete" some dumb ass amenity kit from some low cost airline.
Lol... All good mate.
Thank goodness I’m flying Emirates international instead.
Lucky you!
Soon you can fly Turkish ex Melb into Singapore. I wouldn't give Qantas Group a dime of my money. Ever.
Exactly. You are spoilt for choice when flying from MEL to SIN. You can choose to fly with Emirates, SIA, Turkish or Scoot instead of Qantas Group
I cannot wait to try them out!
Mot sure ,i booked quantas ,but finnair turned up ?flight was good
QF has leased a couple of AY A330s to fly between SYD and BKK/SIN because they're short of long haul aircraft.
And Finnair have spare planes thanks to the Russian war on Ukraine.
I find the thought of being seated in front a card swipe machine horrible. I want to feel like a valued passenger whether I pay for pointy or arse end of the plane - not someone being encouraged to spend. Far to in your face. For that reason I will not fly Jetstar economy - I'd prefer Scoot with no IFE. Separately, I think it was pointed out on one of your earlier vids (not sure by who) that Australia does not have laws like the EU to compensate pax when things like this happen.
Was that hubby on your right? Really looking forward to this series.
That's why you fly JQ with frills. The TV is already unlocked if you fly with the correct fare. I always fly with the MAX bundle in Business so it can make the experience somewhat normal. Yes, hubby's father was born on Gozo in Malta, that's where we were going to commemorate his father's birthday.
Flew jetstar for the first time and they recked my bag so angry
Oh nooooo.... Did they do it or the ground handler?
@@ryansofly not to sure
@@kristypaul8067 yep, many airlines (including JQ) employs ground handlers to manage baggage. So it might not be JQ's fault after all.
Crapstar is one of the worst. Been screwed over by them on several international flights. Never again.
Scoot is better than crapstar
Gosh... What happened?
@@ryansofly cancelled flights 3hrs before departure due to “mechanical issue” (later found out no mechanical issue at all) and even though travelling with wife, they put us on two different aircraft. She via BNE and I was routed via Perth. Then “mechanical issue” again in our return flight. Crap service, crap airline crap everything = crapstar.
My exact flight wasn’t delayed
Ha good for you then!
Great review, really appreciate it. Really awesome Channel. Stumbled across it and subscribed for it immediately. Looking forward for more 🎉
Howdy mate.... Thanks for your support. Hope to see you in my future videos! Cheers...
You are a beautiful human and fellow avgeek
I'm so grateful to have found you! Pretty please I would love a. JQ amenity pack ❤
As long as the 3 conditions are met, I'll put your name into the draw. What's your Instagram handle?
QANTAS and JETSTAR just avoid them like the plague.
Ha fair enough. A lot of people don't have a great opinion about them. I certainly don't, especially QF.
thank
you
You're welcome!
Good vid, cheap fare to Singapore. Possibly id do it
Ha do it! 😏
It’s a said state of affairs when l as a Australian would NOT fly on either Jetstar or Quantas they offer what l believe is poor service being you can never count on your flight ever leaving l would rather pay a higher price to ensure your going to have your plane get you away when they say and have you returned home on time.
That's the thing... International airlines flying from Australia offer a FAR higher level of service, reliability, for a lot less $$$. I use my QF points to redeem flights on other airlines but QF. If I pay to fly QF, I'd just go with JQ because they're cheaper and give me a lot more points and status credits.
I miss u grandpa and Ryan :(
I flew BKK-MEL in 2022 8n economy. I chose a window at the back in hope of getting a row to myself. On check in i found i had an aisle in the middle towards the front. During the night i got up for the toilet and went for a look at the seat I'd chosen, and saw someone else was in my seat and sleeping across the row. I decided not to fly Jetstar again after that.
I'm wondering if it's because of a cancelled flight and they're trying to accommodate everyone. My business class seat was removed and I was downgraded to economy. But I kicked up a fuss at check in and they reinstated my class of travel but I lost my window seat, which I originally reserved. The same flight the day before was cancelled leading to a lot of spillover passengers.
Hell no. I wont fly any eco class literally no break from east coast of australia to Europe without a day off in Singapore, for a total of 8hrs + 12 hrs. And no more i am flying no frill airlines for flying above 3 hours. Thats torturing. I rather saved my money and stay at home.
I wont even need to watch the rest of the video to tell how amazingly your cushion flights will turn out.
I don't normally fly such a distance in YCL. But I was paying for 2 seats so this is all I could afford. Hahahaha....
what do you think of this downgrade?
disgusting but that's qantas for you
It was Xmas eve so I was just grateful to fly. Think it was rich of QF to not provide any monetary compensation for this downgrade.
Would rather be dragged behind a draft horse with dissantre than travel jetstar!
@@peterstevens2027 🤣🤣
Well to me I'd always go for the cheaper one 😂
Hehe JQ really isn't that bad.
This happened to me too :)
Yeah it happens a lot.
You got there, but no where near the style you paid for.
Hahaha what style? I paid for QF! 🤣
Do you need a travel buddy, I’m available ❤️🦘🦘🦘🇦🇺
Hahahaha.... Nice. Who knows?
I hope they refunded you the difference in money.
It's QF, of course they did not.
Wow I can’t stand jet star or Qantas I would never fly with them again I have flown first with Qantas and star ⭐️ with jet star Alan the former ceo 🧑💼 ruined both airlines best wishes
Hahahahaha.... Those 2 airlines must've give you heaps of grief!
Maybe you need to double check why you were moved off QF35 before blaming Qantas. It's a bit confusing to work out what day you actually travelled because your video is time stamped 23 December and you state in the video you travelled on Christmas Eve. A quick Flightradar24 check shows that QF35 operated on both those dates. 23 December was about 18minutes late and the 24th was early, so no problems with the Qantas A330 fleet. At least not on those 2 days. What the hell??
That's a mystery I have not been able to solve... Why we were bumped off QF. Our notification came via AirFrance who said QF cancelled. 🤷
@@ryansofly Perhaps Air France were selling tickets on QF that they didn't actually have? I've flown JQ long haul economy on the 787 a few times and find it perfectly adequate and comfortable. I've done QF long haul on the 330 and it was the pits. The only thing is I wouldn't choose JQ if I had a connection to make.
@@nica1639 haha who knows? It made for some great story telling though! The Air France flight after this was equally eventful.
