- Ever wondered if there is an easier way to find your art style? In this video, I broke it down into a formula to better understand how art style works from my point of view. I recorded this audio a year ago and took me a while to finally put it out 😅

Your art inspires me so much.
Same
KitKat, does ur art resembles theirs
Yeah me too
My personality is WAY different than my tastes.
Same im so moody and sad for no reason and grumpy but my taste is like sometimes i like sad things but mostly happy majestic art
fruitymxdi Right? I'm not usually happy but I really like creating happy things.
Yeah same
What do you mean by WAY different ? I mean, both personality and taste are intertwined and connected. For ex, If you're moody and grumpy for no reason but you express happiness with your art ,then you might be stuck in a "selfdestructive" mood pattern yet happiness is what inspires you and drives your spirit. Also ,there's a lot of ways to express once's feelings. But your taste and personality play a part in what you like, and we tend to draw what we like.
Ikrrrrr
I am from Russia, and it is a little difficult for me to understand EVERYTHING that English-speaking artists say. But I came across you and I understand EVERYTHING that you want to convey to the audience. I really like what you do, the way you present your material. Thank you for the awesome videos! 🦊
Same! But im dutch yeet
this might sound really strange but sometimes I look at an artist’s art and I’ll have trouble figuring out what I like about it so much. I’ll find that something about it really draws me to it and makes it pleasing to look at but I’m not sure what. do you have any tips for that? like what are some key components to look for to help narrow down what I really like about the artist? and thank you for this video, it was really informative 💖
what i do is compare it to another artists art or my own. list all the things that are unique to the art you are drawn to and from there you will likely be able to see what draws you to it. some things i keep in mind are:
- lineart: is it black or coloured? hard edge or soft edge? is it broken up in places or scratchy?
- face: (especially if not realism) how do they draw each feature? is there a lot of detail in the nose or is it just a few lines? what size are the eyes?
- colour: are they saturated or desaturated? is there a clear and harmonious colour pattern? do they have a specific colouring technique?
there can be a lot more to pick up on, but these are just some examples.
tia tysm this is really helpful 🥺💕
Oprah Esemuze you're welcome!! 💞
It could just be the composition that you admire
What I do is do a personal study of it by copying it EXACTLY and try to see from the original artist’s point of view. I start to understand what decisions the artist made as I do my study of the art :)
Gorgeous video, also have some advice for people reading this trying to find an art style.
When studying your favourite artist, don’t let yourself be convinced about what parts you like about their art or if you even like their art at all, just the artist.
For example, I like Edward Gorey and Tim Burton so I simply assumed I liked the creepy and dark style of art... but I really don’t. I don’t like to use it or even look at it sometimes. Upon looking further I realised why I actually like the artists. I like Edward Gorey’s work because he uses art to tell stories, there is a background to every illustration. And I like Tim Burton because his art is nostalgic, it reminds me of my childhood and his films featuring Helen Bonham Carter who’s quirky dress and hair styles I adore.
Which leads me onto my next piece of advice. You don’t have to just study artist you like. Celebrities help too. I like the outrageous nature of Helen Bonham Carter’s dress and hair styles. I like Marylin Monroe because her body is similar to mine (mid/plus sized) and she always presents herself and confident and happy in her femininity. I like Paris Hilton’s chic and luxurious style and Cleopatra’s power and independence as well as her incredibly unique cultural dress. So I study these women and them for reference and inspiration.
Hope this helped. I’m by no means an expert but no one is really. I’m only just getting back into art after a year and I have never had my own unique style because I was so used to copying. This video helps me a lot and I hope my advice does the same for others Xx
i feel so motivated but overwhelmed at the same time eye-
Picolo, Myrmidia, Sweeney Todd, Jacqueline Deleon, and Lord Gris were a few of my favorite artists when I was first getting back into drawing. I was able to create my own style by comparing how they drew eyes, noses, lips, line work, and picking what I liked best about each of their styles. Then I tried my own things. I love your style as well, Neimy, and the concepts you create have inspired me to do more background work and step out of my comfort zone.
The thing is I can't draw. I just got interested in drawing and wanted to find a style to start practicing in. I've been surviving off of stick figures for a long time😂
When you’re starting out, instead of trying to find a style even just to start out with, look at lots of references, and try out lots and lots of different styles and eventually you’ll find what you’ll like/ or what you want to base it off of and then it will will probably come easier to create one after a bit of practice going through different styles. That’s what I did when I was learning to draw people. You could still try to find a style at the beginning, but it’s best to experiment, that’s the best way to improve in my opinion
Nice user and pfp! We Stan 💜
Mandy 852 ty for the advice :)
Yea of course!! I hope it helps :)
Mandy 852 literally never drawn before and i just got an ipad and i’m gonna start using pro-create. i used to draw but i found out quickly that that didn’t work for me and digital was better. i guess that’s a good start? any more tips? i’m so new to this and i’m looking at all these videos
it's the best ''find your art style'' video ,i've seen.❤
thank you!
you have entered into the room called "my fav artists".
How i got my art style (2 years ago lol) i kinda copied some styles but i only like copied the eye style, line art and coloring/shading
Me too 😬
thank you i really needed this :)
You’re going on my artist list
The most important thing is practice and learning the basics first. A lot of new artist just go searching for an art style but you develop it. Art styles are like hand writing, everyone has there own hand writing style but you have to learn to write first.
I have had about 20 different art styles because I normally get bored of it but I found a way to change that I started changing the eyes for different character and for what there doing and same with eyebrows ect and I really like it now I just need to work on hands and backgrounds
You are one of that artist that I admire (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤
Aw thanks 🥰

No I did that too lol
Thank you for making this video on this particular topic, I actually have been doing art for years, and till this day I know what art style I am interested in which is expressionism. There’s a few artists I look up to including you which is Qinni, Neimy Kanani, Samdoesart, Rossdraws/Ross Tran, Wlop, Laia Lopez and
_morchu. My #1 artist is Qinni she died in 2020 during the pandemic she was survivor of heart surgery, she created beautiful art. The reason I like her art is there’s so much expression and emotion in her art the colors she uses, the way she draws with texture, and the poses captivated me. The art style I was introduced to which makes it relevant to my #1 artist is expressionism.
From my research, expressionism is an art style and art movement a bunch of artists who uses this style the purpose of the style is to convey emotion or self expression. Expressionism is everywhere it can be found not only in art, yet films, sometimes TV shows, and most often music and art. I think expressionism is beautiful and that’s what I notice in Qinni’s art not only she is conveying emotion, she puts her soul into it makes her art breath taking lay beautiful.
The other artists I look up to including you are also amazing, I think I can learn so much from you, and I agree so much you need the foundations or basics of drawing to sharpen/polish your skills. As an artist, our journey should have no finish line its not a marathon we artists need to strive and continue to improve, and grow. As an intermediate artist, what I learned as lesson is the number one way to improve as an artist and grow immensely is take feedback and criticism and use it to your advantage to improve. When giving feedback and criticism the person shouldn’t misbehave or act rudely artists need to be kind, helpful, and understanding when giving feedback. I haven’t gotten feedback for my art actually I think getting feedback will help you grow as an artist.
This was so helpful! I really enjoyed your different examples, it made me feel better about finding my style!
🤍
I’m here from Instagram! I’m still experimenting with my art style, so this is pretty helpful
Love the animated video
This was so helpful! Right now, I’m having trouble with my art style, so I will definitely apply this to my art 😄
YOU ARE SO UNDERRATED
I'm so glad I watched your video and subscribed. I've been looking for my art style when I already had it. I've been feeling like my art wasn't good enough lately because I thought I didn't find my own art style. The pressure and thoughts I put on myself was horrible.
U're such an amazing person thanks for being who u're , really your art inspires me

Ah..... stalking...
my specialty
not going to lie but i fell in love with your art the moment i found them. So you are on my list Neimy
Hey Neimy! Thanks for making this video. I loveeeee your art and especially your thick but smooth line art. You also have such a pretty sense of color.
Ahhh thank you for this you’re one of my fav artists and your style is so delicate and detailed!!!!
you're so cute! definitely is one of the firsts of my list!!
I think seeing other art styles and taking parts of them would welp, like choose about 5 arts and for example, take the eye style of one, take the mouth style of one and stuff. Every art style is a fusion of other art styles anyway.
You inspire me the most, I never paid attention to aesthetic until I came across yours
this really inspired me and after years of searching for an art style i think that, finally after watching this, i could finally find mine. thank you 🥺💞💞
Not me staring at the screen when I saw "Detective Conan" i thought i was the only one who used to watch it growing up!!
I really appreciate how you present your points!! Thank you!!

I had a weird experience with finding my new art style( cuz I wasn't happy with my old one ) like a month ago and it's weird because it is soo different than the previous one and it took me like one day to figure it out . But then I realized that i was months and months ago making something like that in my had by following artist that have those features besides the ones I already followed and I didn't notice . But if that didn't happen this video will be so helpful . Love you and your art 💖
Love your art ❤
Thanks so much!!☺
I sware to God this helped me SO MUCH!! TYSM
Wow I really like your art 🖼 You’re awesome! :3
Already found my favorite artistttt~~~
Your voice is so beautiful and calm love it
You're one of my favourite artists❤️🥰
You're so cute and helpful thank you for this!
Recently I heard someone ask their viewers to think about what their style is. On this platform there is (like alot of places) stuff telling you what you should be, but who are you? Think about it when things don't feel right. There doesn't have to be a label for it. You have your own style and things you are good at and things that drive and compel you. It's good to grow and good to change, but you can still be you and what you are is a more positive and unique thing than you may always remember. That's how I feel. Who are you? Worth remembering.
I tried but I can't find some favorite artist I love your work it's really pretty!😁
thank you ♥️
Tysm for this video ♥️

I really regret that :')
Thank you for making this video it really helped me :D
( unfortunately i havent found my own art style yet
:'D )
Lol I made a playlist full of my fav artists
AND ITS OVER 9000!!
The thing is the struggle of a self-taught artist starts with anatomy, color theory and such things that we should know first and serve as our foundation but we skipped it so naturally it would be hard for us to know the right proportions for our art to look at least decent. :< We always worry that it would not look a certain way because we lack the basics.
No entiendo nada,pero me encanta
