This is the best Katana video I have seen. Great sounds , great playing and finaly tasty , tubey , clean pushed ( but not shredding ) quality tones. Now I can hear that these amps can deliver those great tube ( on the clean/ break up side ) sounds. Well done Sasha

Its a very smart move by Boss to have and external Bluetooth adaptor, reason being BT is prone to malfunction and has a limited life span compared to other electronics. It's much easier to replace in case it doesn't work.

One example I can give you is BT in UAFX pedals. I mean it sucks to the core. I know it will die much sooner than the pedal does.

Another example I can give is a 10 year old B&O bluetooth headphone that still works. Imo it depends on the quality of parts used

I hope that Boss will make the "bloom" function ( from the head version ) available in the software for the 50 and 100 watt combo 's via an update . Than , I will buy one

I love these amps..I have MK2 50 and LOVE IT..WHAT I don't exactly love is the incremental release of multiple iterations just to end up with a better version a year or less from now...just give us the best version possible off the bat and be on to something new... we'd pay more as players

This proves that they listen to their customers. They improve the product according to the most common requests. You can't ask a commercial company not to make money...
Positive Grid works the same way with the Spark and has released a ton of peripherals and variations. The Spark 2 will soon be released with all the improvements that come from the most common customer requests on their forums. Personally, I love the Spark for the sound quality in the headphone jack, and I don't think this specific part will be improved!

in fairness, the MK1 came out in 2016, the MK2 3 years later in 2019, the Mk3 in 2024, so you are probably not looking at another one until 2028.

Just like cell phones anymore or computers, buy one today, a new one comes out in a few weeks!! Very frustrating.

Great video as always. 👍👍👍 Congratulations to you and your partner!
The day that Boss app is available as a plugin for a daw or standalone will be a lonely for my pedals.

This is a bigger testament to your ability to dial in good tone, not to mention your hands. Boss should absolutely hire you to build out their base presets cause this amp in your hands sound absolutely fantastic.

@@SashaIvantic Haha dude yes. They need a lot of help. I thin their tech is great, but they're not listening. You've easily become probably the most underrated and the best player on YT right now to me.

I've been using the mk1 for 8-9 years and I love it. The gen 3 seems like a pretty good improvement over my original model, but I see no reason to replace it right now. I'll just stick with it until it stops working.

    • @carlob95
      @carlob95 Місяць тому +1

9 years! it didn't cost you much every years🙂I owned the mk1 and I though it was good but yesterday I tried the gen 3 and to me it sounds very good.

@@carlob95 I got my moneys worth from the mk1 for sure. I'm pretty tempted by the gen 3 ex though. One of the things I didn't like about my 50 watt mk1 was that I couldn't use the footswitch and the new one would solve that problem.

@@Matt_Barkley Yeah I think the gen 3 ex is a good choice! 👍

I bought the Bluetooth adapter….doesn’t work unless you update the firmware on the amp with a laptop. I only have an iPad. Why don’t boss say that!!!!!!!!

Hey Sasha. Would you rather (for home use) buy a katana or an attenuator for the tube amp you have?

For casual playing I use the Katana or Waza Air. I also had a Catalyst for some time which is a killer amp too!
