@cruzio32 I was lucky enough to climb with him many years ago. I was a beginner climber,1979, we drove to Yosemite together and he generously showed me around the place, dragged me up a few climbs and got me set up with a few great partners. Three weeks later I had climbed my first Grade V, South face Washington Column. Thanks Peter! Glad to have known you!!!

Top level climbers has got to be the most mellow people in the world. I came into watching this stuff via Alex Honnold which just is the friggin epitome of zen to me, and then to see Peter and hear him talk...jesus its just the same somehow! I can see why youd need to have that mentality to succeed at this stuff tho..
I think the secret with this sport, as with with any sport, is to know when to wind down as you age. If you're middle-aged, for example, you don't want to attempt anything like you might have attempted when you were at your peak, at around 30 years of age. It's just too dangerous.

These two guys have been inspiring for so long. So great that both of them are still climbing hard terrain superbly well and with so much stoke.
