The traffic honestly isn’t bad. The way the locals talk about it I was expecting so much worse. It’s hardly anything lmao. It’s a nice place to live.
For us southern English who have to go to work everyday via the notorious car park motorway the M25 I'm quite sure in and around Orlando is an absolute doddle

I’m born and raised in Kissimmee (24 years) and affordable should definitely be used lightly. Rent/mortgage is unforgivingly high and is only getting higher. Not to even mention the gas prices and cost of living. Don’t get me wrong you can find somewhere affordable but just depends on where you go in Kissimmee. Another thing to note is traffic can get real bad especially around 5pm and people literally suck at driving in Kissimmee lol toward St. Cloud is more calm but if you’re in the upper region of Kissimmee/ tourist area near Disney then good luck but other than that Kissimmee is a pretty cool place to live tho and the development has been so cool to watch over the years

@Eduardo C let me apologize for how I came at you in that last reply I deal with a lot of trolls on UA-cam so I thought you were coming at me lol but you’re definitely right about that I’ve tried looking myself and the prices at least from what I see are averaging around $400K and aren’t going any lower but it’s definitely not impossible to catch a good deal just make sure you like the area. Kissimmee is nice tho I think you’d enjoy it if you moved here there’s a little bit of something for people of all ages to do
What area would you suggest for a single mom .. looking for a great community for my kids .. but still can mingle
@@tamiayoung1262 Storey Lake in Kissimmee is actually a pretty cool community they have a water park, basketball court, playground, and you can even just walk around and enjoy the scenery. If I’m not mistaking there’s boat docks there too. Plenty around the area to do as well for you and your kids. Its a bit pricey from what I’ve seen but definitely worth it in my honest opinion. Not to mention you’d be close to pretty much everything

Can’t speak to crime due to fair housing laws, but rent has definitely increased due to all of the development in the area.
How much can a 300k house run you monthly in Kissimmee I live in NY my home was 200k and pay 1,500 a month is it different over there in Orlando ?

Definitely Tampa, do not come to Kissimmee, it has been a living nightmare for me, for more than a decade, horrible people, uneducated, uncultured. And no freaking money flowing, criminality, well I don't think I'm making it justice, it's actually worse!

I might be looking to move there in a few years after I save up enough money I currently live in fort Myers with my mom but am not sure about moving so soon I am going to hopefully start school in fort Myers to get a cosmetology degree in skincare and after getting some experience here see about moving hopefully the housing price don’t go up to hight that living there becomes more expensive than fort Myers
Don't come here then. I work as a gig worker and speak with my customers regularly and they have had their rent almost double twice over the past two years. The home I am currently living in and I'm not in a gated community, my home value just increased by 100k. Traffic is terrible and they're overbuilding to bring more people in. It is not worth it.

There are bad and good places in every place in America.
lived in kissimmee florida 10 years.....left....still miss it sometime....PROS: weather, Churches, beaches, coasts, big cities (Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville) then a few miles down the road nice and rural...Long drives with car to cruise, good restaurants-lots to choose from, great wildlife - gators, manatees, panthers, etc..cool to see, Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, etc...Daytona 500, car shows, Sports teams, Football, College and Pro Football, Spring Training, Nightlife, no snow, .............CONS: Lower wages, lack of quality healthcare and doctors, southern inefficiency, bad attitudes from southerners and Floridians, Puerto Rican gangs, emphasis on Spanish language and culture, Expensive housing, Hurricanes, insects, bugs, small lizards running around, a feeling of "NO CULTURE", Lots of wealthy, elderly people, and snowbirds that are arrogant, no change of seasons, that state just gets on your nerves after awhile...

I want to add to the cons: racism is pretty high in the Orlando area, crime is on the rise, if you aren't working a healthcare job or theme park job you're probably working a job that doesn't offer good benefits/perks, Floridians are very judgmental.

Too much growth, I live in Poinciana, and worked entrainment at WDW took 45 minutes ti get ti work, now takes over an hour, so much housing going in we need 2 high schools, plus numerous charter schools every mile or so and that is a lot of people, no industry, but resort jobs that are low paying and no fun at all. Yes touristy is what you would call it now, when I moved her 20 years ago, thru were still herding cattle down our streets, and orange groves everywhere. Now, there are none. I’m going back to Indiana
