I love the look and can't wait to try one🏆
Sweet looking piece.
Great review
Good video. Well done. Great firearm.
Thx 4 Great Review 👍
I have two 226 X-Five. One Supermatch and one Allround. I use them In IPSC standard and production devisions. They are in my opinion as good as any 2011 for this purpose. I would expect the new 226 X-Five to be as good as the originals. Even though they are not as “handcrafted” as the German ones.
This is a Race Pistol. and its value is REALLY how you compare it.
This Black Friday PSA offered the Green TS2 for 1500.00. I think running a shadow in any comp is plenty respectable and the magazines start at 17 rounds which is more compliant to most competitions whether its capacity or length.
There are three price ranges of Race pistols, and honestly, the shooter is more important than the gun.
The entry race gun prices are things like, Glock 34, Canik SFX series, VP9 or P30 LS, XD-M long slide, and M&P pro series, Ruger American comp. basically long slide guns.
The mid-tier prices are guns-like. P320 X-five or legion. PPQ match, CZ shadow series, Springer Prodigy?
The high-end stuff. STI, Bul
I think the p226 is right in between Mid and High and its craftmanship is closer to mid than high.
So, when you compare this pistol even at 2500.00 to 2011 style pistol like either a Sti or a Bul, then yeah, the X-five is cheap.
But the question is, is this gun's ergonomics, features, accuracy, and speed closer to a staccato or a Shadow? realistically I think it's closer to the good CZ stuff.
Competition-wise, I think a Czech mate is just as good as a staccato. But value-wise, the market price of capitalism dictates a staccato is going to be worth more.
So it really depends if you're also collecting. because once you start breaking 2 grand for a pistol, the performance gains are a diminishing return.
Ask yourself, does a Rolex really hold time better than a Suunto? but the difference in price is like WOWzers.
The reason why a Rolex is "worth it" is because it holds its value and you will get your money back if not make a profit.
I think the same could be said for this Pistol, you'll get your money back for it.
That is one gorgeous gun!
Trigger of German X-Five Supermatch is flat faced yet fully adjustable too. Love mine and God does it shoot well up to 50m
Man that is pretty nice. I'm looking forward to getting my first all metal striker fire handgun. I got a Canik Rival then couple months later seen the steel frame drop, I was a little disappointed cuz would of chose that. And of course they're not interchangeable and they said they wouldn't sell them separately even if they were. My problem is to get to that tier you're jumping to the $1000+ and I just don't have it
Great gun!
Two questions. Is it better than x5 legion and is the trigger as good as a walther of comparable value
I’ve never been a big sig fan but man that is gorgeous. Those grips looks so damn erogonomic but I hope they are a little smaller than the original p226 grips as they are way to girthy for my medium sized hands.
How do the hogue grips feel compared to your walther (who I think make by far the comfiest grips)?
The Hogue Cocobolo grips on the Classic are actually a little smaller than the G10 with its raised pattern. However, both are still narrower than the Nill wood grips I had for my X5 Allround about 10 years ago. Those made the fattest Beretta 92 grips feel slim.
Have you reviewed the Canik tp9sfx?
Seeing how I respect You, your chanel & your opinion. How do You think the Platypus 5”/9mm would do against this Sig 226 x5? Even if You haven’t shot the Platypus, would like to hear your thoughts……👊🏻
How is the slide to frame fit? Any wiggle and play between them?
There’s a little, but not much. This is a machine fit gun that doesn’t measure up to Staccato levels of hand fitting, but not even the German guns were hand fit to a degree that justified their price.
The one sig to rule them all
Where can I get for that price
Where did this guy go?
Position of the trigger is also adjustable, hence the screw on the left side of the trigger bow.
Unfortunately for lefties they weren't able to add an ambi slide stop and that thumb rest/takedown lever is just junk in the way. :( It looks cool though!
I owen an American one and the only thing I dont like about the pistol is the slide to frame fit its kind of loose for a $2.200 pistol, everything else is just find, nothing to write home about.
Trigger is fairly good not great it could be better, hav a clip of me shaking the pistol and you can even hear the pistol making noice like a maraca, it is a shame as the pistol could be a real nice pc of shooting equipment.
BTW am a competetive shooter USPSA.
IMHO guns in this price range should NOT have ANY MIM parts. As a matter a fact any gun costing over $1700 (e.g. Dan Wesson Specialist...and if i'm not mistaken...even the more affordable DW guns don't have any MIM parts( ....My my onky ding...
buy the German ones if you can find them... it's day and night with the USmade one
Not really.
Ed where are you?
GTSR
No one else caught the failure to lock open after the last round?
That’s exactly why I checked the comments section!
Some don’t do that, I understand the Staccato doesn’t either? Am I wrong?
@@heathermurray-miller3778 I am not sure about other pistols but I wouldn’t say it is not possible. It was only surprising to see this with the new X-Five as it is the highest quality-controlled Sig pistol currently in production. I am experienced with other varients of P226 German and US ones, They never do that. The only experienced failure with multiple P226 I’ve tried is that the slide will release itself if magazine was inserted hard. But I guess this can happen with other pistols as well. Cheers
Most likely shooter error. Riding the slide catch. See it all the time regardless of manufacturer.
Yeah I saw that was thinking under 115 grain ammo hell 115 might be too light for that slide
You spent so much time slathering repetitive praises on the gun, that you never mentioned caliber, calibers available or otherwise. Between the seemingly endless empty gun safety checks, and the fawning over just how great, tremendous, spectacular, blah, blah, blah...the gun is, you didn't say what caliber choices if any one could get for $2,100.
If it's only available in 9mm, I have absolutely no interest. But I don't know that, and certainly would have expected to learn the answer within the past 13:25 minutes of something other than what you presented here.
Want e review of the Walther PPQ Q5 Match Black Ribbon. It will be great to see a video of that gun. Thanks and best regards.
Have you seen the vintage ones? Amazing looking, $4000 and not optics ready. Sucks.
Yeah it’s a beautiful pistol. I guess you can buy the one you bought and then if you want the other one you could just buy the grips and change them out from time to time.😆👍
