After the 2014 open my son was helping the players with their luggage and clubs. Rory stopped, thanked my son, chatted with him for a few minutes then gave him his cap. Rory is pure class, a great representative of the game. Love this guy!!!
Someone was probably watching him. I made eye contact and said hello, he looked right through me, didn’t say nothing. No cameras, no one to see him. I know how he really is. Hope he’s different now.

@@wcmacster Can you imagine the pressure? Everyone wanting something, even some small recognition. One would have to go inside to hide from the constant pressure of humanity.
I love how in interviews, especially post-round interviews, he doesn't just have loads of glib media-trained answers and clichés that many sports people have to serve to keep some distance between interviewer / audience and themselves. He answers in a heart-on-the-sleeve, almost naiive kind of way, figuring out why things went well or badly or sharing about what he was thinking or feeling mid-round etc in real time, and he just shares those things as they are without calculating on what might give fodder to his rivals or detractors. He just comes across as honest and confiding and humble enough to tell it as it is rather than trying to spin things to make himself look good.
Rory is such a confident speaker. Having him on the channel is excellent. He speaks with great clarity and confidence in his knowledge of golf and is able to simplify his technical understanding of the sport to the average amateur golfer.
Hands down this is so awesome to have an elite player on the show. And to hear Rory analyze his reasons for playing shots a certain way is priceless.. thanks guys
Wow. It's amazing that you guys can have Rory McIlroy chatting with you. He is so down to earth and relatable. Except that his golf shots are from another realm altogether. Thank you for a fantastic video.
Rory is such a genuinely nice guy. Lots of humility which is part of the total class package that he is. I once heard him say in an interview that sometimes he wonders "why me?" when asked about being #1 in the world with all the money and fame that comes with it. Thats a huge statement that only comes from the few famous people who don't think about the power of themselves all the time.
These pros are so damned good it's wild. The distance control he has with a shot of that length is awesome by itself but having that control while flighting the ball different ways with different conditions and targets makes it just incredible. Im a scratch player and where I'm very happy with being inside 10 yards from 205, he has the ability to within a few yards of flag high 95% of the time. Having that gap of 10 feet compared to 30+ feet makes an enormous difference. Love Rory, he has insane talent and it's great of him to share his tips with us!
Yeah, Rors was my favorite at Pebble, but he just seemed too aloof this week and not concentrating enough. Still remembering the US Open at Congo like it was yesterday, still tied for all time low score with Brooks.
If he sorts out his putting it’s good but misses some makeable ones if he holed a few more he would be unstoppable. Seen him shoot really low and win whilst still missing some within the 6 foot range.
Wonderful vid. Great to hear Rory,s comments and what he thinks before hitting approach shots to greens. His swing techniques are also very interesting. Huge thanks to Rory and the boys . This was a great vid !
Really great video! Cool to see you buddy up with Rory! How 'bout a video on how the pro caddies figure out accurate distances? Can they use range finders?? something I've always wondered. You guys have the best golf channel on UA-cam.
I liked this video, and I pretty much never like or subscribe to anything. I find it extraordinarily helpful when you guys bring on these current pros, particularly Rory. The questions y'all ask are delicious.
@@Melted_Butter Yup, you totally want to smash the atoms out of the ball and the best way to do that is with a super collision of your club face and the ball.

Just an idea. Next time throw a camera on the green so we can also see how the ball lands, the type of spin on the ball, and where it lands🤗 Great video
Thx for uploading this. I am not so good in golf(even though in my first round ever I had 50 stableford points) but I am pretty sure that my first set of clubs were blades. Then somebody gave me a Nike set and people told me that it was no good for me because it was for low handicap players. But I kinda like those small faces. I think it is easier to hit the sweet spot...Now I noticed that Rory also uses blades. Is that the reason because you do hit farther when you hit the sweet spot...
Yep! Blades will also give you the most ability to work the ball either direction, something supremely important for Tour players. I've actually heard more than a few teachers say they can be a great way to learn how to play the game, because they force you to become aware of the clubhead position at impact. Keep working!
*Meandmygolf* Can you guys invite him back onto the show to do another feature but this time on the biomechanics of his swing??? Curious to hear more about his trunk rotation and how he transfers his weight forwards in the downswing. Looks incredible when slowed down.
I love seeing the differences between really good teachers and a really good pro player. All are excellent golfers, but the MAMG duo do a great job at instructing. Love it!
Rory best swing easily on tour definitely more majors in his future though with that many really good players on tour its never easy..... I also like Adam Scott's swing
Have watched this a bunch of times in the never ending search guys, good info and insight, thank you. However IMHO a missed opportunity to show Rory's swing face on! All shots are down the line - Dual screen would have been even more useful cos we know you had the angles.... ;-)
Would someone be so kind and explain to me why the shot at 7:10 looks like a heavy Push but they call it neutral? I mean his setup is aligned to the left flag, isn't it?
@@imxjoon Look at 7:02: His feet, his shoulders and thights are aligned to the bunker left from the left flag. Is he opening his stand? I didn't get it...

@Blue Ocean are you saying the fact he hit a 196 yard 7 iron is a lie? Or the things hes saying are lies?
Well, not many have a club head speed in the 100mph range, so not many will hit 196 with a 7 iron.

Yes amazing to watch.
You can tell Rory finds it hard to explain how he is so good. It's just talent and and feel.
TheCoadyp exactly, I feel like everybody has their own way of doing things
He’s not really a feel player, that’s why he’s a bad with his wedges.
No it's hard work and practice. Talent alone won't get you very far.

extremely helpful distinguishing between body angles between the driver and irons, hopefully I can apply this into my own swing.

I tend to hit all irons towards the middle between my legs. I find the contact is so much more consistent, as compared to moving the ball forward.
