Good to see some testing on air chucks, Thanks! The problem with many of those for me is they take up to much real estate and are not 90 deg for use on stuff like motorcycles and lawn tractors.
Great job. Love my Lock N Lube, and just picked up an M18 inflator. I had a feeling the Lock N Flate would be the way to go, but you confirmed it for me. Thanks
Excellent review. Thanks so much. I've been struggling with several of those brands you tested and I thought it was me or that I got a defective one. Your results reflect exactly what I have experienced. From now on, I'm only using the Lock-N-Flate. this is a certified hood classic
Thanks, this was very helpful. I've been trying to get my Craftsman air compressor to couple to my Mercedes Benz wheels to inflate (top off) the tires.. I HAVE NOT been able to get these locking chucks to couple cleanly. I'm thrilled to find out that it is not me that is entirely the problem. My thread-on chuck provided with my heap Chinese-made battery powered compressor work just fine. I've spent much time and money trying to get this to work. And I haven't given up. Not cheap, but maybe I'll go with the LockNFlate chuck.
I went with the Jaco over the Lock N Flate because its much smaller and can be right angle. There are some small tires tires I think would be real struggle to get enough straight in clearance to use the lock n flate on. Plus as you said below they have one that goes on my m18 inflator with no adapters.
Awesome review! You should also try the Apex High Flow Chuck & Power Tank HiPPO2 - Hi-Pressure Push-On Tire Chuck v2. These are both advertised as high flow chucks from well respected companies.
I have to their grease gun with a similar type of fitting and it works great and this air fitting is just what I need for the motorcycle but it will need a 90° elbow.
Haltec was the only one that worked and lasted on all of my tire chucks, its very compact, well built and i can leave it and work on the other tires (im using all metal valve stems and got the US version)
LockNFlate needs a longer barrel style option, like their grease couplers, for reaching the inner tire stem on duals (trucks, trailers) that and a lower price point. Not quite sure how an air accessory is costing so much more than their grease products, especially when grease needs to be rated to much higher PSIs. Hydraulic category stuff costing more than air is par for the course, but it's backwards in this case and $50 for an air fitting/tire chuck is an even tougher pill to swallow knowing that. Hopefully prices come down over time considering this is a new product with lower sales/production volume. or somebody else comes to market with something comparable and forces better competition.
Yeah its a bit pricy, I'm guessing the price will come down over time seeing they just released it. They do offer a locking chuck for trailer tires. Pricey but looks interesting. locknlube.com/collections/air-extentions/products/locknflate-locking-dual-wheel-adapter
One end of the tire pressure gauge is pointed, and the other end can be inserted into the tire. Could you please tell me what kind of accessories should be equipped with the pointed end to connect to the air pump? Thank you
Nice testing 👌 Wanted to get a quick locking air connection for my milwaukee m18 inflator. Now I know what one or style to get. Thanks you. I enjoy your videos
No problem! Glade to hear! Yeah to me its the lock n flate or Jaco. Jaco has one with a hose that would be direct connection without parts. amzn.to/3GLgSpq
Open you would use with an inflator gun, while closed would go directly on the air line. Basically open flows air without having to be connected to a tire, so its good if you're using a gun with a gauge on it. Closed only flows are when it's connected to a valve stem.
My LockNFlate worked perfect when I initially purchase. Wasn't long there after however that it cannot be inserted on any air stem without a very audible leak. Sad.

Honest question, what is the point of closed flow air chucks these days? why would anyone want to inflate without a tire inflator gauge so they can see the PSI? The closed flow style can’t be used with the inflator tools.
Open means when its plugged into your air hose directly its going to leak air. Open flow are normally used with a gauge and trigger. Closed flow you have to be on a tire valve stem before it will allow air to flow.
Looks like this pesky deflation has messed up the price comparisons, some falling at different rates. I ordered a 2 pack of AstroAI (not Astro Pnuematics) air chucks almost 5 yrs ago, still on number first one. Yes, they can be a little finicky to keep from leaking. Looks like the one made by Lock'n Lube didn't fall far from the tree. The jaws do however look like they hold it straight and tight to the flat washer inside. I like the smaller chucks because they fit in more places, but I may hook a Marlin on my 30% off HF list and use in really tight spots. I already have a non-locking one for that.
Ah yes, the return of Blue Eyes. I've always had a few words for my thread-On style M12 tire infiltrator. But, after seeing how bad some of these performed. I think I'll keep my mouth shut from now on.

Man, thanks for your videos……I can only imagine the time and effort that you put in behind the scenes.
No problem! Glad to hear it helped! Yeah definitely takes a lot of work and time behind the scenes.

Thanks! Glad it was helpful! And you had similar results.
Picked up 3 lockNflat s. ( prior to seeing video). Glad i picked right
Nice! Yep good pick IMO!
I have the LockNFlate air gun with the air chuck and I love it!!!
Nice!

Yep that’s definitely a drawback to the Lock N Flate. I do like the adapter Jaco has for inflators.
I have a Jaco and it leaks

Nice video. Here on the hobby farm I use Jaco and the Euro style chucks like the Milton and Astro. They are rock solid for me.
A lovely and helping video . Thanks & God bless you .

thx for the video man, this is good stuff. like the charts at the end of each section.
Thanks! Glad you liked it!

Yeah thats the big drawback to most of these.

Interesting, and its the same model I tested? I see they make a few.

Bought two different style Milton’s, and then the AstroAI pack… wish I watched your video earlier lol
Hopefully its helped now though..
Thanks for the great review / have a Lock n Lube will add a Lock N Flate to my arsenal

Whats the difference between the closed flow and open flow?

Basically open flows air without having to be connected to a tire, so its good if you're using a gun with a gauge on it. Closed only flows are when it's connected to a valve stem.
Thanks came to ask same!
Unfortunately was recommended this after buying astro, seems to be doing ok for topping up slow leak with battery inflator
Hopefully it stays that way for you, I didn't have much luck with the astro.
My LockNFlate worked perfect when I initially purchase. Wasn't long there after however that it cannot be inserted on any air stem without a very audible leak. Sad.
Thanks for the video but for the price of some of those fittings I'll put up with my old one.
Yeah the cheaper ones for the most part didn't perform very well.
Hi.
For a tire gauge, is it better to be closed so it doesnt leak while i am reading?

they should make a direct fitting one for battery powered inflators such as Milwaukee ones.
Jaco makes one amzn.to/3GLgSpq
Is the Haltec that's matter in USA a different design? It would be interesting to see how it compares.
Investigating it more, looks like the USA one is for larger bore stems. Haltec H-4660A

I would like to attach the Jayco to a ryobi inflater. It has a screw on tip that I hate. Any help?
You will need something like this + the Jayco amzn.to/49OrdNv ,that way one end screws into the Jayco and the other into the screw tip of the Ryobi.
Jaco Lightning chucks are the best 👍🏼
what type just pushes on, but you press/squeeze to release?
The Jaco
What is open and closed flow?
Open means when its plugged into your air hose directly its going to leak air. Open flow are normally used with a gauge and trigger.
Closed flow you have to be on a tire valve stem before it will allow air to flow.
@@Tools-TestedWhich is proper for battery inflators?

Really suprises the Merlin did that well

Locking types are too bulky to work with RV "beauty disks", screw-on types work best for these situations.
