You brought up an excellent point at the end. I think the Lock N Flate was designed for larger applications, thus the NPT threading. I use mine to air up a lot of large backhoe and wheel loader tires. I couldn’t be happier with it

Efficient Velo Tools is the only inflator you will ever need for bike tyres. USA made, which meant an import for me in the UK, but it had been perfect in my busy bike workshop for years

I got the 711L version a couple weeks ago. Works well every time I try it

Funny that the LocknFlate commercial played at the end of your review.

I’m confident you are correct about the artisan factory being made by the same people as the 711L. The Artisan Factory is listed on the 711L store page.

I've been happy with a YehVeh- branded dual head on my M12 inflator. It's cheap (currently $8 for a pair on Amazon), the plastic doesn't inspire confidence, but it ticked all the boxes for me - right angle, locking presta and schrader, bleed valve. I wasn't expecting much from it, but it's been used almost daily for the past year without a problem, and I love not having to fiddle with switching heads or modes or deal with adapters, etc.

They are bulky but have been using a
Haltec H-5265 Standard Bore Lock-On Air Chuck for $12.90 on Amazon For years. A little hassle if there isn't much clearance but locks tight and doesn't leak

I have a couple of Lock N Flates for mostly cars and small engine stuff, and neither have ever leaked on me. But if they ever give me trouble, I’ll check out these alternates.

I happened to have both versions and I agree completely with you. The Lock and Flate are quite big and strong and could be good for big rigs. I use the Artisan for small cars and bikes. It works perfectly.

I got the same issue with presta. Jaco makes a gauge and decent chuck. These look kool for Schrader.

711L now makes a micro ratchet with a hex mounted handle instead of the leatherman mounted handle. Check it out.

Great video and presentation. This is a good example of great tools that are not expensive, and working better than the more premium ones. I'm using a little rechargeable mini compressor on my bycicle, and it was cheaper than this locknflate device.

Some vales are inaccessible if you have a large hub motor on a small bike rim. Can you find any very low profile locking air chucks? Like the ball head chuck but smaller with locking. The one you show is a bit too tall.

Doc, have you found a favorite Presta air chuck?
I just ran an air line from the garage into the attic and down to the crawlspace, which makes the old noisy air compressor a bit quieter. Now I'm trying to find a good Presta inflator setup to work on our MTBs!

I used to use the old school Silca brass chucks but had to replace washers often. Now I use Specialized Airtool pumps for presta. Their dual hole chucks with lever have not failed me. Only problem is you can get quite a whack from the lever when releasing it especially with cold hands.

I really like the JACO Lightning XP Locking Presta Air Chuck. Works great for me.

@@lastbesttool Would love a review on some presta! I use a little ryobi inflator for my wife and I's bikes, which use presta, and occasionally friends that use schrader. If you find a good combo adapter, would love to know about it!

711L looks like a copycat of JACO, which you didn't seem to be a fan of in your last video. I guess the copycat has exceeded the performance of the original? Also, it appears that both brands only offer open flow models. The "good enough" Astro AI model mentioned in your last video is available in closed flow, which seems like a superior design.
