Ajax the great was one of my favourite Greek warriors in the Trojan sage. He incarnates the man who works hard and strives to be the best he can be. I wanted to be like him when I was growing up. He deserved better...
Throughout the Iliad, Ajax is presented by Homer as a defensive warrior. Fights Hector on a duel, wounds him later with a stone, saves many ships from burning when the Trojans enter the Greek camp. Diomedes and Achilles are the most prominent offensive warriors from the Achaeans. Disappointing that Diomedes is absent from every film adaptation of the Trojan War.
0:00 So this is the man Ajax with his Hammer and Shield. 0:44 Ajax And Achilles are teenager to train so hard became Greek warrior both strength and skills. 1:28 Alright Ajax was board ship along a lot of Fleet. 2:13 Ajax And Achilles appear beside famous warriors. 2:20 Woo! Hector and Ajax are fighting. He throw his spear at him but Ajax dodge that was close one. Good thing he brought huge shield on battlefield with Hammer. 3:24 Achilles being shot by arrow and Ajax rescued Achilles body from the hands of the Trojans. A fallen warrior. 4:22 The two guys see what Ajax doing after his mind had been clouded by Athena. What the!? Seriously Ajax killed himself with his sword. Now Ajax is dead holding his Hammer his soul Hermes come to pick up his Soul went to Underworld his action with deeds. 👏 Wow I'm very impressive legendary story Ajax the Great: The Indomitable Warrior of the Trojan War in Greek Mythology. No matter I hope Ajax see Achilles in Underworld afterlife to make better future in humanity history.
The account where Ajax kills the cattle is from the "little iliad" and Sophocles. In Homer's Iliad (the more reliable account) he simply kills himself.
Ajax was too broken for the war to be a close tie between the Acheans and Trojans, even after Achilles's death. So they killed him with the lamest way possible.
Yeah, but as it turns out, the Trojans had more to fear from Odysseus and Diomedes playing Mission Impossible than they did from Achilles and Ajax playing Rambo. 😁
We need a longer saga of diomedes from all great epics right from his birth to his later life. He's literally the most interesting character of all Greek mythology
Great Warrior , one of the top four Warriors in the Achaean's army, with 1)Achilles, 2) Diomedes, 3) Agamemnon and himself Ajax the Great ! Shame what Hera did to Ajax in making him have a fit of rage
@@Strafuzzyeah, he did. Aphrodite as well. Granted, he had Athena's guidance and support, but he's still the only Greek hero of the Trojan war to injure TWO of the Olympian Gods and faced no punishment
When my history teacher showed us the movie Troy (he was also the PE teacher 😂) he told us that there was no Ajax that he was made up for the movie for suspension of a giant warrior dominating the battlefield alongside the Greeks. Only years later am I now hearing different from you. Man schools need more committed teachers to their fields.
Few know that Ajax as Achilles when babies where bathed in the river Styx gaining invcibility from weapons.Still both had their wick spots: for Achilles was his heel and for Agax his armpit.
A secret ballot went up as to who will bear the marvelous arms of the late Achilles. Aias was on the losing end. I could only imagine Odysseus, the trickster that he was, having a hand in the results of the ballot.
The spear was indeed the predominant weapon of the time. On that you're right 👍 However, let's be honest, a Warhammer does fit quite well in Ajax, don't you think 🤔
I thought so as well. Their fathers, apart from great heroes, warriors and leaders in their own right, they were also brothers. One more thing that binded Achilles and Ajax together. One more thing that they wanted to prove themselves as good or even better than their fathers.
AJAX IS LIKE THE BIGSHOW WWF WARRIOR OF THE HELLENIC ERA! TAG WITH HIM, AND HE WILL CARRY YOU TO VICTORY ! HECTOR FACED HIM BUT HE PROVED MORE THAN A MATCH, STANDING UNDEFEATED TILL THE VERY END. 😊 MARVEL'S AJAX IS NOT UPTO THE MARK!!
It was said that when Ajax entered the battlefield, he spoke these words, "This opportunity is quite hard to come by"
Always a good day when” see you in history” uploads

He deserved better...
Bro was such a unit, they named an Armored fighting vehicle after him.
And a whole football team in Netherland after him.
Yet his name is still associated with soap...

Truly !! And a black Achilles with shaved head !! Brad pitt would comitt suicide! Such a bogus adaptation of a Contemporary Classic😂😂😂😂
Diomedes is too o.p to have in movies because he was the perfect warrior. He even went 1v2 against Aeneas and Aphrodite wounded both.
Diamedes Diomedes was my favourite
First half of this answer was straight from Wikipedia.

In the story Ajax does use a large spear. The comic got the war hammer idea from the movie "Troy"
And then his legendary shield was conceptualized as the ultimate defense against projectile weapons.

So this is why Apatosaurus is seen by many paleontologists as a bulky sauropod

His seven lairs shield was inferior only to the one Hephaestus made for Achilles
The man also has a pretty famous football club in the netherlands
Why is it not stressed enough that Ajax and Achilles were cousins?
Wow. I never knew that. Is this true in The Iliad?
@@TerryKashat yep achillles’ father is peleus and ajax’s father was Telamōn ,both of them were brothers and famous Argonauts.

I am so proud of my Hellenic history and my ancestors. I hope to live to see Greece rise and shine again. Showing the path to Greatness!!!
Good video
The end of Ajax was terrible 😢
Greek stories are full of tragedies. There is a reason they stood the test of time

Can you do Either Rostam or Esfandyar from Persian Book of Kings?
He's Achilles' cousin
I can not download this video.
For better understanding, watch the movie 'Troy' ( from Andhrapradesh)
Why not include him as Achilles' cousin

Pls do Iasion, the agricultural demigod that married Demeter
Is Ajax a descendent of Hercules ? Cause they share the same body type ?.
Ajax used a large spear, not a war hammer. I know "Troy" was a great movie but i think this is where the comic got the idea that he used a war hammer.
Diomedes was probably the most accomplished Achean warrior, Achilles had a good run but also just better PR
I wish Ajax went out in a different way. He deserved an epic warrior's death
Or to return home and rule the lands and people that would be entrusted to him by his father
The OG GigaChad
Please! Do a story on mermaids or unicorns! How about leprechauns?
in greek he's called "aias" not "ajax".
Spar, spear, spear was told, but I see a hammer.
I can't believe Ajax was a Greek name, that is so weird.
He doesn’t carry a spear all I see is carrying a Warhammer
I got something to tell you Ajax isn't his real name it's Francis
A name that gone from famous warrior to dish soap.
