I'd say it's more because he will be the only one who probably won't have to worry about his teammate. Max was getting very rattled at a few races in 2024 when Lando was 50+ points behind him if the championship is even closer I would expect much the same but Ferrari and Mclaren drivers will probably take points off each other which will save him.
don't agree with "by far". Charles is véry close to Max with a bit stronger quali pace and slightly worse consistency/aggression/rain driving. These 2 are quite clear off the rest of the field.

I think Peter needs to remember that he was talking about the threat of Oscar Piastri in the 2024 season. Landos response was to dominate him. Oscar is not as fast and more inconsistent and in 2024 has not progressed as we thought . He was handed wins so why has he become the huge threat in 2025. I think its overstated.

Look at the total down force the car creates. Assign a percentage of that force to the wings -. Then calculate (educated guess) the effect of a flexible wing set up. Add that back into the sum total of down force to get a flexible wings proportion. Where is the rest?👍

I think we forgot about something very important here. Honda already anounced they will take it to another level because it will be their last year working with Red Bull. So update for the engine, wings and Max discovered something in the data. All this together sets the bar considerably higher for the others. And if you really want to see something back in the formule 1, let's start with the grid girls.
Sochi is reminiscent, much like McLaren's 2024 growing pains, unexpectedly finding themselves fighting at the front - yet this time it almost lasted a whole season! The team has all the info to make decisions, they should not bombard a driver with info, just inquire how the car feels etc...then add a calculated team order! I hope they've gained from this learning arc for 2025!
If there's a difference between the RB and McLaren like 2024, Lando surely has a very good shot at being WDC next year. He'd definitely be the front runner.
As for Norris, I don’t see it. He may have the best car, we don’t know. Remember that Merc were unstoppable in 2020, then 2021 happened. McLaren could be challenged by Ferrari or Red Bull or even Mercedes. And if the cars are close, he’s not defeating Max, or Lewis, or Charles or George in near-equal machinery. And that’s before considering his own teammate.
Charles and Lewis possibly but George come on? He's just as error prone if not more so than Norris. As for Oscar he has shown himself to be nothing more than a Sainz level driver at the moment. Big improvement particularly in ulifying is required if he is to go to the next level.

Hmmm ... dunno. I think Max has so much spare capacity that the RB21 needs to be really bad in order for Lando to have a significant advantage. Now, I've heard Lando's team radio msgs and I've noticed he has a lot of additional brain space too but when there's stress or pressure, he's not very consistant. Ferrari will go all out (with Charles, I think). There's a fair chance they will be favs. I don't think RBR will get connect 5. Max has a contract until end of 2028 and my guess is that they'd rather use their new wind tunnel and the extra wind tunnel & CFD time to be able to fight in 2026 and onwards. Whatever happens ... 2025 will be fire! Three challengers at a minimum (with Alonso in an AM Newey Special joining the party?).
On the current grid only Max and Fernando have a massive mental overcapacity while racing. All the others have enough of a hard time of keeping the car between the white lines. Newey is going to AM in March, he has no say in the 25 car which is being designed and built right now.
I don't think Lando Norris is ready to deliver the whole year what it needs to become a champion. This year's there will be more competition and the pressure is even higher than it was last year. Verstappen can handle the pressure, and the other one is Hamilton. Leclerc is fast and I would say he is faster than Hamilton but now the question is, how do you handle when things get tough and I don't think Leclerc can handle such situations the whole year.

Norris the favourite? Only if you haven't watched last season. Max broke Norris in Brazil. Everyone who knows a thing about F1, knows that rain is the great equalizer and that the driver makes the difference in those circumstances. I don't see that. Norris is an upper midfield driver, but not a champion. He drove as badly in his sixth season as Verstappen did in his first. Of course, if Norris gets an RB23 he will be champion, as Piastri will certainly need another 1-2 seasons (but then he will also become a problem for Norris). But if Ferrari or Red Bull have a similarly fast car, he will always lose out to Verstappen, Hamilton and Leclerc, who are drivers of a completely different caliber.
If McLaren is allowed to still cheat their way to a championship winning car in 2025 AND Oscar gets injured for a significant number of races than Lando may have a chance.

Lando in my opinion, is the fastest qualifier on the grid right now, and can comfortably lead a race. His tyre management is flawless and he’s clean. Of course he is favourite if the current trajectory of car performance is carried into 2025. People need to put some respect on Lando’s name, he was on the back foot in 2024, let’s see what he can do when he’s fighting his own championship in 2025.
The best qualifier is Max by far. He outperformed the mclaren und ferrari even with a way slower car. Lando is losing in all 24 races against max if you put them into the same car. Last season was embarrassing for Lando

His on-boards are why I think he is the quickest qualifier tho, he is a techy peddler. Him and Max have a way of taking corners nobody else has figured out yet.

Lando Norris doesn't have what it takes to be a world champion and never will, in my opinion. He doesn't have the outright pace, winning mentality, or race craft against the top dogs. This has been proven time and time again already. The car would need to be ridiculously superior by over half a second at least, and even then, he's going to have enough trouble with Piastri, who will only get better. His most admirable trait of being engaging and self-critical is also his weakness; he's far too nice and not ruthless enough. Im surprised at Peter Windsor, to be honest, who I respect a lot. Mercedes are the factory engine team and will improve further next year, as will Ferrari too, who now probably have the strongest driver line up and you can never rule out Max. I think if Mercedes get their act together, Russell is a better shout, as he'll affectively have number 1 status. The McLaren and Ferrari drivers may take points off each other. Lando had his big chance this year and blew it, even though he had the superior car in the second half of the season and number 1 status.

About the f word and max what irritates me is that Lando and charles got a fine while max had todo community service. More frustrating I am that f1 are making deals with countries that treat there people very poorly and that is an understatement. Womens rights in those countries are non existent! Charles and Lewis possibly but George come on? He's just as error prone if not more so than Norris. As for Oscar he has shown himself to be nothing more than a Sainz level driver at the moment. Big improvement particularly in ulifying is required if he is to go to the next level.

On the current grid only Max and Fernando have a massive mental overcapacity while racing. All the others have enough of a hard time of keeping the car between the white lines. Newey is going to AM in March, he has no say in the 25 car which is being designed and built right now.
I don't think Lando Norris is ready to deliver the whole year what it needs to become a champion. This year's there will be more competition and the pressure is even higher than it was last year. Verstappen can handle the pressure, and the other one is Hamilton. Leclerc is fast and I would say he is faster than Hamilton but now the question is, how do you handle when things get tough and I don't think Leclerc can handle such situations the whole year.

I love Peter, I really do, but him rattling off (approx 31 minute mark) the percentage odds of each driver winning the WDC was the dumbest thing I’ve listened to in ages. Peter believes if you have a number 1 and you believe he’s world champion caliber you don’t get another driver that is quick enough to unsettle him.

I don't see that. Norris is an upper midfield driver, but not a champion. He drove as badly in his sixth season as Verstappen did in his first. Of course, if Norris gets an RB23 he will be champion, as Piastri will certainly need another 1-2 seasons (but then he will also become a problem for Norris). But if Ferrari or Red Bull have a similarly fast car, he will always lose out to Verstappen, Hamilton and Leclerc, who are drivers of a completely different caliber.
Charles scored the most points after the summer break. Just saying…
If McLaren is allowed to still cheat their way to a championship winning car in 2025 AND Oscar gets injured for a significant number of races than Lando may have a chance.

Lando in my opinion, is the fastest qualifier on the grid right now, and can comfortably lead a race. His tyre management is flawless and he’s clean. Of course he is favourite if the current trajectory of car performance is carried into 2025. People need to put some respect on Lando’s name, he was on the back foot in 2024, let’s see what he can do when he’s fighting his own championship in 2025.
The best qualifier is Max by far. He outperformed the mclaren und ferrari even with a way slower car. Lando is losing in all 24 races against max if you put them into the same car. Last season was embarrassing for Lando

His on-boards are why I think he is the quickest qualifier tho, he is a techy peddler. Him and Max have a way of taking corners nobody else has figured out yet.

Lando Norris doesn't have what it takes to be a world champion and never will, in my opinion. He doesn't have the outright pace, winning mentality, or race craft against the top dogs. This has been proven time and time again already. The car would need to be ridiculously superior by over half a second at least, and even then, he's going to have enough trouble with Piastri, who will only get better. His most admirable trait of being engaging and self-critical is also his weakness; he's far too nice and not ruthless enough. Im surprised at Peter Windsor, to be honest, who I respect a lot. Mercedes are the factory engine team and will improve further next year, as will Ferrari too, who now probably have the strongest driver line up and you can never rule out Max. I think if Mercedes get their act together, Russell is a better shout, as he'll affectively have number 1 status. The McLaren and Ferrari drivers may take points off each other. Lando had his big chance this year and blew it, even though he had the superior car in the second half of the season and number 1 status.
