    Yes this is so cool, loved the Zombies I was around 13 in 1964 a budding upright bass player soon to be electric bass player. But figuring out these songs was such a challenge and then playing them in our band was so rewarding. What times and yes discovering blues and jazz too. Thanks Joe hope all is well with you!

    I was a huge Zombies fan as a kid...But, in 1976 I found Argent Live on cassette and I remember listening to that tape in my Fiat Spider for years singing along...I had no idea Rod Argent was the Zombie guy until I bought that cassette.....
    This is such a lovely surprise with my morning coffee...
    Joe, you continue to astound me...
    Cheers from Siem Reap...

    I've been listening to these guys since I was in the 4th or 5th grade, and I can't believe I'm 67 now and still enjoying their records, not to mention how lucky my husband and I have been to see them live three times ..... Sacramento, Berkeley and Petaluma. I'm even friends with one of them on facebook. They're as nice as they are talented, and I'm so happy they're finally in the RRHOF, they so deserved it.
    Thanks guys for taking good care of yourselves, so we can still enjoy your work. Love you all!!

    As mentioned by others Oracle and Odessey is a fabulous record. Criminally underrated. I never knew about til about 5 years ago and I’ve played it 100 x since then. Absolutely all killer and zero filler. It’s a shame it did not take off commercially. Also search YT for the reunited Zombies doing a live complete concert of the album. It is just fantastic.

    God, The Zombies - what a blast from the past! I really loved the British Invasion music, even though it put a huge dent into the American music scene at the time; The Hollies, Kinks, Moody Blues, Petula Clark; great stuff. "It's a 5 o'clock world when the whistle blows", "Downtown", "Lazing on a sunny afternoon; in the summertime". Look forward to Parts 2 & 3. Joe.

    Colin sings the lead vocal on one of my all-time favorite songs. It's called 'Don't Answer Me' by the Alan Parsons Project. It's one of the few songs in the world that can choke me up. Beautiful song. He's a fantastic singer.

    • @markmiwurdz202
      @markmiwurdz202 2 роки тому

      @Tom Carl. I think you will find that the lead vocal on "Don't Answer Me" is the songs' co - writer (with Alan Parsons) Eric Woolfson. Although Colin Blunstone does sing vocals on other Alan Parsons Project songs. Stay safe and well.

    Since visiting Memphis about 20 years ago, I've been fascinated how pop and rock music "evolved". Hearing Ron and Colin talk about many forms of American music "pollinating" British music thru very limited channels such as seaport cities (e.g. Liverpool) opened up a whole new thought to me about the evolution of UK pop music I hadn't considered. I'm guessing also kids spending hours upon hours in record shop listening booths, hearing these various music forms not heard on the Beeb, had a big role too

    It's so true with regard to 60's TV/Music video Cameramen constantly zooming into the wrong instrument during the solos. I guess in hindsight the Camera operators were all probably in their 30's, 40's or 50's and didn't have a clue as to which instrument was making that loud FUZZ noise, so whether it be the Yardbirds or the Kinks they would invariably zoom into the biggest guitar...the Bass. Check any 60's music video and you'll see what Imean, it;s uncanny!!
