  • Follow along as Tucker and Billy introduce the new F-One Rocket SUP Downwind series for light wind wing foiling. These boards are handmade, vacuum-bagged, and come in full carbon, with a bamboo collection soon to be launched. The series offers around 5 sizes in each width, ranging from 97L to 130L. The 7’5”, 21-inch wide, 120L board was highlighted for its lightweight, excellent finish, and stability. This board is suitable for light wind winging and offers impressive planing power.
    Despite its high-end nature, it's user-friendly even for beginners. These custom CNC boards are not molded, allowing for more size variations. The 20-inch wide collection is the most popular, but there are also 19 and 18-inch wide options for performance models. The board's design includes a concave deck, boxy rails, and a unique tail design for reduced drag and better water release.
    Alongside the F-One Rocket Downwind series, they also introduced the new F-One Jam 1900 Foil, available in multiple sizes. The 1900 model, designed for pump foiling, was highlighted for its size and performance. Both the Rocket SUP Downwind and the Jam are expected to be in high demand, with both carbon and bamboo versions available.

      Our first shipment will be arriving in a couple of days. Great foil for LW and DW. Super easy to get on foil, pump, and glides forever. One of my favorites for sure- Tucker

      @@MACkiteboarding thank you so much for the answer! What would you choose for such conditions? Jam 1600, eagle 1290 or a seven seas? My strong wind foil is an eagle 890, 75 kg…

      Awesome foil, Just like the rest of the Sk8 lineup. Ideal for small wave or underpowered days, wake, big riders, ect.... One of the most versatile wings in the lineup. -Tucker

    Hi, anything from F one about whether the Jam foil's ok with the new 14mm HM, thinking of getting the 1600, Cheers

      It will depend on your weight but most riders will want the 16mm for maximum stiffness. -Tucker

      Thanks Tucker, I’m 75kgs /165lbs. I’ve got the 14mm hm mast, looking to dw paddle up with the 1600 Jam. I was hoping not to have get the 16mm as well. Cheers

      @@stewrogers1936 I'd say you'll be fine on the 14mm HM. The 1900 you might want to start thinking about the 16mm. Especially if you are wearing a thick wetsuit ;) -Tucker

      @@stewrogers1936the 16mm is not actually stiffer
      It's a misconception. It's just a non HM and more cost effective version

    What makes a foil good for pumping on a DW board?

      @@willhurd8283 Any HA? So if you had a couple year old SS or Naish HA foil they would work? People seem to be recommending the new Sabfoils, Armstrongs, Axis, etc. I didn't know if they were somehow special for pump DW foiling

      @@bmrbca3658 There is a lot of variables to make a good pumping foil. Especially for downwind where you are maneuvering a larger board. Feel free to call or email and we can talk in depth about your situation -Tucker

    So is the other construction of the DW pro a bamboo version or an epoxy version? I heard it is epoxy but bamboo sounds better (lighter) to me ;-)
    you guys know there will be a new range of sup paddles?

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  9 місяців тому +2

      The DW Carbon Pro is a bit lighter but about $1k more expensive. It does include a nice bag with the carbon so you can chalk about $150 of that up to the bag. The bamboo models will be arriving in about a month and those will be a nice balance of affordability and performance. No news on new paddles from F-one yet but we are favoring the Quickblade Stingray for DW -Tucker

    This is great news. I've been hoping F'one will offer a Paddle Downwinding foil for bigger guys in weak bumps. I'm wondering whether the 1900 is too big to turn and reach other bumps. I need to make my paddle up as easy as possible because our bumps are tiny. Maybe the 1600 is better? 90kg

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  9 місяців тому

      In small conditions, I'd go for the 1900. It's not a turney as the 1600 but if you can't get up it doesn't matter anyway. The 1900 is pretty nimble for it's size. Most of the turns are more yaw oriented at these speeds. -Tucker
