Lovely seeing this area again. So much to do locally. You managed to fit in so much on your trip. Loved the flyer sculpture! Tees Barrage architecture was fascinating. Nice bike ride too. Some good shopping there. Nice sunny evening. Do like the fairy lights. A bit of effort makes all the difference. Rewarded with a gorgeous sunrise too👍 happy Vanniversary! 😊
Thank you - the year seems to have gone very quickly! Hardly seems 5 minutes since we chatted to you at Hoddom in Autumn 2021! The flying sculpture was a little different. It’s surprising what you can find which is close by isn’t it. Couldn’t believe how nice the weather turned out to be. Hope to catch you somewhere in 2023, all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Happy Vannineversary. Can’t believe it, it has gone so quick. Look forward to your review of the year, Stockton on Tees has more to offer than I thought so I might consider it in the future. Take care Gill
Thanks Gill - I know how quick was that year??! Must be an age thing as I can’t believe we are in Feb already too! There is a lot to see and do in the area. Quite a lot of it is walking / cycling distance from the site which I like as it makes for a good potter 💕 Rachel, David & Roxy
We stopped there end November 2021 when we had those horrendous winds , very scarey night . Thought the van was going to tip over. On the plus side , the roast potatoes in the pub are unreal. 😊
It can be quite exposed on some pitches can’t it - in the old motorhome we had a few windy nights on the site and found the serviced pitches were the most sheltered when we were there in a storm. Can’t beat roast potatoes in the late autumn / winter can you - all the best, David & Rachel 👍
@@LeisureBit ye it was that storm that wrecked coastline statics etc .. then it snowed on the saturday.. first time being away in the snow and it was perfect.
Well done David and Rachel on a great video and of course happy vannerversary!! it certainly looks a lovely place to stay and great to see such a well maintained site. I have been a couple of times to Stockton with my brother and it’s quite a good town for shops and it’s nice how they have regenerated the riverside it certainly looks like you all had an amazing time!
Thank you - yes it’s a great and well maintained site, you could easily miss the whole riverside couldn’t you - it’s amazing how much it’s been regenerated over the past years. Thanks very much for watching, really appreciated, all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Happy Vanniversary to you, looked a great site and an easy walk to the town. Loved the flyer. The wardens did a great job with the gardens too. Wow the swimming for Roxy looked great. Nice pint (or 2 😉) and a bit to eat but yes something not easy to find a pub that's dog friendly. Take care all and catch you soon 👍
Thanks Tim, appreciated. Yes the walk into town is relatively flat and on a surfaced path which is good - you could walk to Teesside Park too as not too far (Asda is closest out the back of the site). When we’re in the dales it’s an exception if a pub isn’t dog friendly where as in towns you’re right it seems to be getting worse. Apparently it’s a policy from head office and not the specific branch. Have a great rest of the week and weekend, all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Thank you - It was great to get away and found some new things too and not too far into the bargain. Hope you guys are good, all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Thanks Gary, It’s quite a bazaar contraption isn’t it - I’m sure Amika would love it, a little bit different eh! Quite a bit to have an explore of in the area (you wouldn’t think it on face value either) - hope you both have a fantastic weekend, all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Hi David, hope you're both keeping well? Another great Vlog. Had some exciting news last week. Our Constellation 3XL entered the build process. Hopefully, after testing, it will be on the drive mid March. Then we can start and plan!! Take care. Sid and Nicola.
Good morning, yes we’re doing ok thank you. Brilliant news on your van! How exciting- bet you can’t wait now as it quickly becomes real - all the best, David & Rachel 👍
A year already, wow, looked like a good break. I can really see influences in the flyer from The Rainhill Trails won by George Stephenson's Rocket ( sorry Rainhill born & bred) Did you or Rachel not fancy a bit of canoeing🛶🛶Archimedes is doing well at his age😂😂Cheers K.
Thank you - yes it’s a year, hard to believe isn’t it. It’s an interesting isn’t it - looks like it’s been influenced - first time we had seen it and was quite fascinating. Too cold for canoeing, we’re fair weather (oh and smoother water) 😄 Archimedes is doing very well for his age isn’t he 😀 - thanks as always, have a great weekend, David & Rachel 👍
A YEAR ON !!!! That has flown by !! If i did n't live in Stockton i would say what a fantastic place it is 🙂 TBH, it has some amazing places and the site looked brilliant, without getting to political Stockton could be a whole lot better, as there is so much potential there, and what they are doing to the town centre is (in my opinion) is a massive, expensive mistake ! Can't fault your video though as was brilliantly done as always 🙂 Was that Swim Paws Rachael took Roxy to?? Been meaning to take Tyler as we have never seen her swim, she is not a water baby, she hates it lol. Such a shame The Talpore is not dog friendly, i think they are losing trade there tbh !! I have done the Rat Race around the barrage 3 times and it was brilliant, i ran from the Barrage to ( and over) Newport bridge, with lots of obstacle's in between, including jumping off The Endeavor when it was there 🙂
A full year! Can you believe it??!! I do think they try with Stockton and there are some amazing places and things to see. It’s hard for it to shrug off its industrial heritage. It’s at the Barking Lot on Portrack Lane - really good price. Rox loves it if you couldn’t tell! We agree about the Talpore… I asked and they said it was the whole chain that banned dogs which I find ridiculous… to be fair the weather was ok so we were alright but as you say I think they would get more customers f they let dogs in Rachel & David 💕
Thanks again nice video. I take it that the beefeater doesn't allow dogs in the bar anymore? Looks like lots more to see down there and very wheelchair accessible too. We were on that pitch year or so ago. Byee
Thanks Paul. Not a bad pitch is it that one. Most of the places were good on an accessibility front (all be it the bridge with the quote on seemed a bit of a daft design as the ramp was stepped. Yes that’s right, the Beefeater - there was a sign in the door saying they no longer accept dogs inside but do allow them in the outside areas. All the best, David & Rachel 👍
hi david rachel and roxy, great vlog could u please tell us were u purchased the gadget for controlling the amount of water going into the tank i am always overfilling it the water gauge is so pants, keep the great vlogs coming many thanks:-)🙂
Hi Darren - I built the gadget as looked for something to buy but couldn’t find anything suitable which was a gauge and auto-stop. You can get hold of filling gauges easily which helps but you just have to keep an eye - I’m working on an integrated one as this is great if tank is empty but would be useful if it kept track for top ups - all the best, David 🐾
😂😂 I tried to get David in … without the canoe! 😂😂 A few years ago I actually did a River Rat race and going down those rapids (not in a canoe) was part of the course … I was battered and bruised when I got out the other side 😂

Stockton looks an amazing place to visit and the site looks first rate. Once we get used to the van we plan to venture further afield.

I'm from Darlington, up at my caravan near Berwick at the mo.
We are just outside of Darlington - enjoy your weekend at Berwick 👍
