Glad you enjoyed it - wasn't actually sure if we would carry on with the tour Karen & me were a bit under the weather - we did improve after a couple of days though & carried on with the tour 👍
Love Richmond! Remember using the phonebox there ( Before mobiles😄) as you walked round made us laugh to see it was still there! Another enjoyable vid! Atb!
Glad you enjoyed it - wasn't actually sure if we would carry on with the tour Karen & me were a bit under the weather - we did improve after a couple of days though & carried on with the tour, on our return home we had a site booked near Layburn & returned to explore this lovely town & the castle 👍
Looks a nice caravan site and historic town Andrew. When the club include this site on their redevelopment list and install serviced pitches we’ll be booking…. Cheers Rob & Gail
I actually read on a social media post 🤔 (if you can believe it) that the site may be closing next year because they could not get anyone to run it (not official though)
Andrew , if you go over the river towards the swimming baths there is an archers ice cream parlour . Very nice and a few flavours. A nice walk along the river.
We returned to Explore Richmond, the castle & went to the old railway station on our return journey home we stopped at a site near to Leyburn, we did actually go there no ice cream though - had one from the the ice cream parlour on castle hill 👍
A great little site. We always just used it for an overnight stop because of its Geography , but now we stay three or four nights. As I said. A lovely site.
Hi guys, we are looking for a stopover site for when we go back to visit family in Lincs. We normally stopover in Beale! Richmond is a great little place to visit. The site looks nice. I hope you recovered quickly? ATB Sue, Brian and The Westies👍🐶🐾🐾🐾😀
Yes it is, shame we were feeling under the weather the couple of days we were there, we actually returned & explored Richmond more later on the series on our return journey when we stopped at an independant site close to Leyburn 👍
Andrew, your North East tour videos are available with episode 1 and the last episode (Bellingham), all others are showing as private videos. Not sure if you need to update them as you release them or you don’t want them to be seen.
We called in about 3 weeks ago after travelling all the way to a site called Orcaber Park (near Settle, which we have actually now cancelled!!). Saw the sign for Richmond Hargill and asked if we could have a look round. Warden was lovely and apparently her and her partner will be the new permanent wardens….so looks like it will be staying open. Really tidy looking site and pitches away from the top seemed fairly quiet. Definitely nowhere near as bad as Durham Grange!! We’ve now booked Richmond Hargill for March, as they close after October and are looking forward to another, close to home site) We live near Durham. Can we ask what it is like leaving the site and having to turn right to join the A66? The central reservation looked large enough?? Many thanks, Helen & Mark x
Great look at the site Andrew. Only one thing to add is pitches 2 to 8 are literally metres through the trees from the A66. The overnight noise from a 70mph dual carrigeway is horrendous. Trucks thunder past all night. Don't know what it was like where you were pitched but on the top level, ramps are needed on every pitch. Personaly we found the site to be useless for anything more than a stop over. Overpriced and desperately lacking compared to so many others locally including a good handfull of really nice CLs. with elctric hook ups. Wiske Moor CL is probably the best value for money and only 15 minutes or so away from Scotch Corner.
Yes it's close to A1 & A66 which is ideal for a stopover, I have certainly been to sites with more traffic noise (Durham Grange for instance where we were pitched), can't comment on noise at top of site as never went near it apart from the clip in the video, facilites block again can't comment as we used our own facilities, where we were pitched yes it was slanted but not to much hassle to level up, road noise was minimal where we were pitched, apart from feeling under the weather we had a nice couple of days, actually the next site in the series was one we always wanted to go to but was quite a let down (apart from the view) and more expensive, Yes I must admit C&MC prices have certainly gone up over last couple of years, we are now using more independant sites or CL's which we find cheaper and better, Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Ours is a Cello 12v TV with DVD player we bought this for our previous MH we've had it since 2014 picture quality & sound is adequate for us, If you intend to caravan hooked up to 240V electric & not off grid you can buy an ordinary 240V TV, if you do want to do a little off grid (not plugged into electric) I would go for a 12V TV, hope that helps 👍

It's a nice site, we would return, we did not have a problem going across the A66 to go towards A1 hope that helps, then you for watching 👍

Oooooh our neck of woods , that site is only 15 mins from us.
It's an ideal site for a shorts stopover and for visiting Richmond, shame we weren't both feeling 100% at the time though 👍
@@andrew-karens-adventures Richmond is fab and loads to look at and very picturesque .
Nice video, do you know if the ball field where the information hut was allow dogs in the field?
No its a play area - The short dog exercise area is at the top of the site
@@andrew-karens-adventures thanks very much for the info, we’ve book a one night stop over heading south from Glasgow. Final destination is Norfolk.
Great video guys. Iv just bought a caravan one question I have if you could help. Do you have to buy a certain type of TV for the caravan thanks
