Welcome back to my channel with another exciting video. This video concerns the graphics comparison between the 2011 Trailer, the Release, and the Current versions of Grand Theft Auto V / GTA 5 (2013).
Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5) is a 2013 action-adventure game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It is the seventh main entry in the Grand Theft Auto series, following 2008's Grand Theft Auto IV, and the fifteenth installment overall.

The graphics from the 2013 release looks neat for a game of it's time
considering is running on a based GeForce 7800GTX from 2005..
It was released two years after LA Noire, there was nothing impressive.

Those are not the 2013 graphics though. The game was released only on PS3 and Xbox 360 when it came out. PS4 wasn't even out yet. And it only supported 720p. The PS4 version came out November 2014 and PC version in 2015. But if you run it on an actual PS3 today it still looks amazing. It's the best looking PS3 game that ever came out.

Notes: A lot of stuff changed between the trailers and final release. Also GTA 5 launched on PS3 and Xbox 360 and looked great and ran decently (except online).
GTA Online was a disaster back then lmao💀💀
They optimized it slighty for online (on RPCS3 on story mode i have average 8 fps and on online 12 fps)
Yeah I remember back on me 360 that the online was running like the story mode 25-35 fps (yeah the fps were uncapped on the 360 version you can even see it on a digital foundry 360-ps3 video ) while for some reason on the Xbox one gta online was running at locked 20 fps and I couldn’t take it and it made me ditch gta online for god it was a really bad experience
I dont think people really realize how much of a feat it was having this game run as good as it did on PS3 and X360.... Its actually insane. These consoles didnt even have more than 256mb of ram and 256mb of vram... A quarter of a gigabyte, insane...
Now imagine how GTA 6 Expanded and Enhanced graphics for PS8 will look like
GTA 6, when released, will revolutionize the world of video games graphically speaking.
It's not that awesome if we talk about graphics meaning certain technologies being used. GTA 6 is really good if we are talking about visual design, but these concepts are not the same. Even as shown in trailer, GTA 6 graphics are worse than in Cyberpunk 2077 with path-tracing, but visual design, yes, it's better.

@@damascusreborn We'll see when it's ready but I am sure the GTA 6 won't be state of art in terms of graphics, however it'll be a very good in visual design, as I stated above. I am not comparing an unfinished trailer, I am just thinking about how it always was with GTA. And because of its vast open world it could never use the best technologies. And I want to make a distinction between being beautiful and using the best technologies. Take for example Battlefield and Call of Duty. Practically always Call of Duty had better graphics than Battlefield, better god rays, reflections, lighting, but average normal person would say that Battlefield looks better. Why? Visual design. Better atmosphere, contrast, brightness. So I am not talking about GTA 6 being ugly, I am just talking about Rockstar always using a different approach and it's actually good.
Who is also watching this video after GTA 6 trailer release?
If this is anything to go by, then it's guaranteed that GTA VI will look just as good as it does in the trailer on release. If not, better.

Generally, firms release their games trailer, and game would be worse than trailer. Rockstar is the only firm their games better than showned in trailer

You are forgetting one point, back when gta5 got launched we had less powerful sytems with 720p for xbox and ps3. Now we have ps5 for 4k. I don’t think we get to see a lot difference unless we get to play at 8k one day
Even on PS4 (1080p/4K), GTA 5 looks way better than on PS3 and Xbox 360.
The PS5 version Of GTA 5 is The same Of the PS4, but with faster loading screen due to SSD being faster than HDD.
Linus made a video on 8k gaming and showed it's nearly impossible to tell the difference.
The graphics increases we need are in environment density and texture quality as well as more realistic animations and lighting. Resolution doesn't matter after 4k

Imagine a game with maxed out graphics settings, aa, tesselation, better textures, lighting, ray tracing running at 720 or 1080
Now imagine a game on lowest settings playing at 4k

@@koraegiResolution makes a massive difference in most games. Although im a person that prefers fps over Resolution there's some games that you just have to have higher resolution so you dont get a headache looking a the smudgy low res textures and can actually see what you are shooting at.
Some games instantly look 10x better just with a resolution increase. GTA, Red Dead Redemption, or pretty much any PS2/PS3 game upscaled to 4k are perfect examples of that
You'd be surprised how many devs put more focus on building a game for 4k res and its actually sad. And alot of newer titles these days dont even let you cut down graphics much to get performance. They just expect everyone to have a card that can support DLSS to play their game and then consoles also suffer by making the default graphics settings 4k at locked 30fps and then they add a second option that's just upscaled 1080p with dynamic res and heavy TAA just to squeeze the performance to 60fps
The fact that GTA 6 is going to look more polished at release than it does now is crazy to think about.

It may be a small detail, but the per object motion blur makes it look so much better in X/S.
Guys, GTA VI first trailer graphic is not end. In RDR 2 trailer also was worth graphiс in trailer than the release version, GTA 5 too. Just be patient.
Whenever a developer launches a game that struggles with VRAM I always think about how this launched on the PS3 which has 256mb of VRAM. Engineers at R* are wizards.

Even though I'm not a fan of Rockstar as a company, I appreciate the fact that the release is better than the trailer!
The difference is mainly in color grading, character models such as Michael and certain shots (camera, NPC placement, effects) and time of the day/weather have been adjusted and changed for the trailer.
Would love to this color grading in the GTA we have now.

Keep in mind - the trailers are lower quality due to compression, and are below 4K, probably 720p. But gameplay is 4K. GTA 6, however, the trailer is 4K, so don’t expect much different on release.

The trailer has a cinematic feel.
You can see where they cut dozens of trees in several shots.
According the mission.xml file that was with the 360 and PS3 vers. of the game, during development the game ran very poorly because it was supposed to have MUCH, MUCH more trees and foliage throughout the world (can also be seen in some pre-release screenshots.) and Rockstar didn't want a game with an avg. FPS of about 15 while playing in the more wooded areas.
To obtain a stabler game, they removed a CRAP ton of trees and foliage, like at 2:04, 2:58, 8:48, and 9:10. Glad they added so much more foliage in the later releases, but it is still missing that vibe all the hundreds of trees they removed woulda delivered. The forests always feel sparse, even on the current versions.
The GTA 6 trailer has me hyped for the everglades with an expansive wildlife... I also hope they bring back horseback riding (another cut feature, look up the beta version of Lamar Down, Michael was supposed to show up on a horse.)

Protagonist's faces looked more realistic in the trailers, everything else just looks sharper now.
Rockstar really is the only motherfucker to release a state of the art trailer just to drop a even better final product.

I'm here after watching GTA 6 trailer, I'm writing this because I kinda found GTA 6 graphics in the trailer kinda bad at some places not gonna lie.. But seeing this is how the graphics will look and improve after the game releases brings a good hope back. I wish to see my expectations coming true.. Hope it looks the same or even better than the matrix by UE5 🙏

I was fine with the look of the graphics in the trailer considering its estimated 70 percent of the buildings are enterable, its huge and there's so much but now knowing its going to look even better is great to know.

Tbh I was kinda dissapointed too when I saw the trailer, when it comes to the graphics. R*s mentallity is, that they want to do their games perfect and every game has to be wayyy better and more innovative than the game before. When you look at other titles how their graphics look like you can be dissapointed from the trailer. But as we can see, the graphics will def change till release
Idk how you can be disappointed. The graphics look great , slightly stylized, not photoreal but almost., but what really shines is the lihhting and physics, which really sells the realism. The amount of physicks and realtime lighting and reflections on display for gta 6 set s completely new standard that I dont think will be matched or ever seen on this level yet.

Yes, they're official updates by Rockstar Games or you can also call them ports. They'll probably do the same for GTA 6 when the PlayStation 6 comes out
No one should be worried about GTA 6 after this. Theres a certain clip in the alpha leaks, where jason has a brown cap on and he's standing in the middle of a street, walking up and down it with a pistol in his hand. Absolutely UNREAL how good it already looks in that clip.

Так сначала было на PS3, потом на приставках более нового поколения PS4 и последний на ПК была хорошо подтянута графика в 4К и сейчас достойно выглядит с шикарными текстурами.
I like the lighting and atmosphere of the first trailer. If that trailer had the better high quality textures would be the best imo.. The lighting and atmosphere is always downgraded but we get instead better and more quality texture, more peds cars and items etc..
I hope gta 6 to keep the atmosphere from the trailer but it's so demanding that I don't know if will be in the final release..
tbf it still looks like a ten year old game, but I never realized just how much they did to make it look better in the PS4 and Xbox One updates, which makes me even more mad that all they thought was needed for a PS5 and Series X port was ray traced reflections on the sides of cars (the fact that it's not even on the rearview mirrors pisses me off to this day)

One thing I think everyone could agree with is that the eyes of the characters are kinda weird/ugly
personally I don't think GTA 6 will improve from trailer to release as significantly as 5. looking at rdr2, the most recent rockstar trailer, the difference between trailer and release isn't significant. But there will still be improvements from the trailer, especially with texturing, which seems to be the trend
