You guys should stop watching this stuff on your phone and making conclusions out of that. On a big screen it's just blurry and loaded with pop-in on ps3. Just fired it up myself yesterday as I was curious.
It definitely looks cleaner than GTA 4 but it's a night and day difference compared to ps5 version.

PS3 still looks pretty good because newest versions are 90% the same built.
But when You played The Matrix Awakens demo then GTA V looks like mobile game in 4k 😅 ...no thanks... I liked this graphics but 9 years ago...

@@kevinf6859 Yeah, I'd be nice if Rockstar's plan was like this - one entry from their main series per generation, so we would have both Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto series expanded and each release would show us what the peak of a generation looks like. But instead of milking GTA they could also focus on some new project, or returning to other series (for example, I didn't play Bully but that game must still have strong fanbase), but I believe that it's more Take-Two's fault.

People at Grove Street games used a totally different game engine than Rockstar's RAGE engine, and went to a look and feel that was more """"suitable"""" to the old trilogy.

I remember when I played GTA5 on PS3 the first time I thought: “this is like a preview of the next generation”, so much I was impressed by it. I only wish I had felt the same maybe 3 or 2 years ago, playing GTA6. I hope a new game in the series will be released soon.

I still find it surprising that they were able to run GTA V on PS3 and X360, the game still holds up well on those consoles to this day.
The PS4 version brings some very interesting improvements over the PS3/X360 version, it's an excellent version.
But on PS5 I think they definitely could have done better.
They couldn’t have done better even if they tried other than just increase frame rates and loading times. PS5 is a $500 wanna be PC after all.

As time goes on, the gap between graphics quality gets smaller & smaller. Not just in this game, but in general. PS1 to PS2 was a big jump, and I'd say the biggest jump was PS2 to PS3. But PS3 to PS4 was much smaller, and PS4 to PS5 is absolutely miniscule. It just proves that, the more realistic technology gets, the harder it is to improve.

Sure but GTA 5 was made in 2013. Compare the ps5 version to other games made today and it's day and night. This really isn't applicable here.
If you're wondering whether to play on "performance" or "performance RT" remember that the "RT" setting is more liable to drop frames during play. "Performance" is very stable at 60 fps in comparison.
but its still at 1440p. 4k 60 FPS is the next generation, hell even 4k 120FPS, it literally says on the console box lol. A game this old shouldn't be running at 30 fps at that resolution. This is just R* trolling with customers.
@@thomasbitmail7937 every mode is 4K actually. Fidelity mode is just native and locked at 30 fps, while both performance modes are tweaked little bit with dynamic resolution (somewhere 1900p). Without fps lock the fidelity mode would've been around 40-45 fps I think.
@@thomasbitmail7937 In fact, the 4k 120fps mentioned in the box refers to the maximum resolution and framerate that the console can achieve. Note that this is the MAXIMUM of the console, the resolution and framerate will always depend on what is currently running.
@@andrewzasidko6595 yes, exactly that is the problem with this port. The PS5 should handle it at NATIVE 4K resolution. Either the console is that weak and falsly advertised or the devs. just can't make a decent upgrade of their games. Either way it's also not the first time with newer games, but GTA V is a 2013 game so in my opinion it is just unacceptable.
@@thomasbitmail7937 IMO not weak, but without any "revolution", you know. I think that's the fastest time for console generation to become outdated this days. It came out with modern but middle-high tier CPU with just enough GPU to run current games in 4K (that doesn't mean 60FPS though). Well, I don't think it is capable of truly next-gen games coming in future. All comes to the fact that consoles are just nearly-affordable gaming boxes, not said "experience" as before.
P.S. But in the sense of experience, PlayStations controller is damn fun with it's gimmicks.

Looks super sharp for 1440p in performance mode! Their reconstruction seems really good. I was actually guessing it was in the 1800pish range based on visual quality. Performance RT is also really sharp but the reconstruction has artifacting and flickering when looking in the distance
Crazy how the traffic isnt more dense, the grass isnt more dense, the traffic ai are still the same generic cars, no RT Reflections and/or lighting when shadows are unnoticeable af, and no improvements to character textures. I also think if they removed the RT Shadows and the better reflections from fidelity mode they game could run Native 4K 60

Eres un pedazo de crack!! Hay un montón de canales haciendo el intento malamente de lo que haces tú pero ni se acercan, la precisión y detalle con el que haces estos videos de comparación son exquisitos!
Lo que más noto y valoro (con mucha diferencia) es que en este canal tú puedes ver perfectamente bien los cambios porque no sé cómo lo hace pero siempre cuadra la cámara de forma casi perfecta, mientras que en otros canales se mueve demasiado entre una versión y otra
@@miriammasegosa9483 la cámara la puedes cuadrar de forma perfecta en las dos versiones, pero es un poco tedioso y ningún canal aparte de unos pocos se dan la dedicación de colocar la camara en la misma posición y el mismo clima y hora en todas las versiones, se agradece

La mediocridad? Pero si el juego es muy bueno, a dia de hoy se sigue manteniendo muy bien en cuanto a inmersión en su modo historia ademas de tener un online con bastante contenido.
No justifico ni defiendo la falta de un gta 6 en la gen pasada pero tampoco me impaciento por ello, prefiero que se tarden en lanzar algo con un nivelazo como el de RDR2 a algo mediocre y olvidable como el ultimo Watch Dogs.
Y si vas a mencionar a GTA TRILOGY, pues esa porqueria fue planeada por Take Two y desarrollada por un estudio de juegos moviles....
Madurar es entender que la culpa la tiene el consumidor. Una compañía te pone un producto en el mercado, sea malo, bueno o una obra maestra; pero al final es el consumidor quien decide pagar por él. Rock Star le sabe al negocio, y GTA V es su producto insignia. Pero tener un poco de memoria es recordar que hace 4 años que sacó el que es quizá el juego de mundo abierto más detallado, vivo y realista que hay en la industria: Red Dead Redemption 2, que vendió muy bien y al que si le sacan una versión Next Gen también vendería igual de bien.

It has to do with shareholders, the demand for profit and so on... a game takes a lot of money to make, and if this one still brings in some returns as it reaches a 3rd console gen, all the better for them.

Para quienes ya llevamos tiempo jugando GTA V en sus distintas versiones, la "actualización" fue prácticamente aún más insignificante si se compara con su versión para PC que ya contaba hace años con una iluminación mejrada (como focos del vehículo que proyectan sombras en frente). Es más un Port de la versión PC a consola con algunos efectos nuevos (humo, partículas).
Genial! Ahora toca esperar la comparación entre consolas de Xbox y, espero que el 3er video sea PS5 vs Series X|S vs PC.

God, I remember when the PS4 version came out and seeing the comparison from PS3 to PS4 was a night and day difference. For this one, yeah I can see the upgrade, but it isn't significant enough for me to be like, "yeah, I'd buy it again for these new visuals."

Es que eso pasaba en todos los juegos online porque los CPUs de la generación pasada eran muy malos incluso para la epoca. Pero en la generación actual los CPUs van sobrados con respecto a sus GPUs.

Rockstar se está convirtiendo en una desarrolladora más, no le basta con que el juego sea de los más vendidos de la historia y tenga que volver a comprarlo para jugar a next gen, y que el juego se vea prácticamente igual.

Para que comprarlo de nuevo si ya lo tiene.

With the PS5 version, UA-cam doesn’t do it proper justice. I have mine set to Performance RT and the visuals are quite amazing! The rain and shadow effects are top-notch. That being said, there are a lot of things I wish they had done to the PS5/Xbox Series X|S versions to make this as good as a release as it was when it transferred to the last-gen systems from the PS3/Xbox 360 era. It would have been nice to see updates such as all online buildings, weapons, garages (especially the low rider garage), and vehicles available in story mode. It’s not too late, though. This could all be done in a single update.
The water effects are the same in the ps4 version

dios, como pasa el tiempo, la primera vez que jugué gta v fue en un viejo ps3, ahora lo juego en mi pc y no puedo creer lo mal que se veía, no lo digo de mala forma, es un juego que ha pasado por 3 generaciones, es un poco nostálgico recordar aquellas noches que me desvelaba jugándolo, el tiempo pasa muy rápido

from what I've gathered over the years, I think rockstar wanted the xbox 360/ps3 releases to look more like the ps4/xbox one, but the hardware was limited. They probably knew that a new generation of consoles was inevitable and planned to rerelease it with the "original" vision. The fact they crammed so much high quality content into 2005 hardware and got it to run as well as it did is truly impressive.
Considering that the ps3 has less than 512mb ram and only a triple core processor, it's great compared to the others
The shadows are probably the nicest change aside from the resolution and framerate - especially the headlight shadows are pretty cool
I think the smoke for the cars after the explosions are good too.
Damn I remember those long ass loading times on ps3, glad we've moved passed over 2 minute loading times.

As much as ps4 to ps5 doesn’t have as much wow factor as old jumps bc we’re reaching the peak of our technology it is still impressive how the little things changed actually go a long way in enhancing how everything looks

In regards to your comments on the 1440p@60 being questionable, my guess is that optimisation for the new hardware was either a non-priority or didn't occur and the game is very likely still baked into last-gen techniques and technology (apart from the ray tracing).

@C Alvz it looks good. Driving through the open world still looks better and more alive than the next gen cyberpunk and lighting looks great I justs expected a little more. Should at least be able to do 1800p at this point. Like sekiro, falcooner, ghosts before the native patch, horizon , elden ring etc. There's a bunch

PS3 para ser un hardware de 2006 es increíble el techo técnico que Rockstar alcanzo con este juego en ese sistema, aun quitando los añadidos de las versiones posteriores de PS4/PS5 es un juego 100% disfrutable en lo jugable y técnico, y de forma no oficial, pero regreso el online 😉

Came back to this after getting a ps5. The HDR and RTX of the system definitely help make the game look better to the point of it being noticeable when going back to the ps4 version.
Me gustaría comentar otras mejoras, más allá de las gráficas.
- La vibración háptica. Se habla poco de ella, pero creo que su uso es acertado. Es sutil, pero acompaña en muchas situaciones del juego. La vibración del tráfico rodado al pasar a tu lado, las gotas de lluvia al caerte, la vibración del motor al conducir...
- Y el audio 3D mejorado. No sé muy bien que han hecho, si han añadido más fuentes de audio a la vez, o si se procesa de algún modo distinto, porque ahora la ciudad se escucha mucho más inmersiva.

@@jesusjose7992 GTA V en PC está bien optimizado, la cosa aquí es que Rockstar saco un Port y ya, sin intenciones de superar algo ni nada, de hecho se nota que pusieron eso de último momento porque hasta las imágenes de el tráiler son iguales al original

Playing in RT performance mode and LOVING it. The controller, anti-aliasing, draw distance and shadows makes this game a treat after grinding it for years on PC. Started a new Online character. Feels good to be a noob again
I don't care for the online aspect but man, the single player is still just so fun after all these years. The DualSense is great too. 10 euros wel spend so far.

The shadows look great as I expected. Higher resolution, at least 60 fps and better shadows is all I needed

The upgrade is very noticeable when viewed on a big screen. It still could have easily been a patch instead of a brand new game, but I'm just happy to have a physical version with all the upgrades on the disc.

I have now played GTA V on PS3 PS4 and PS5 each time I have played all 3 versions the graphics have definitely improved

To be honest i love 360 version the most overall - this is for me the signature look of the game. Mind that i play 360 and ps3 on large good quality CRT TV so i don't see almost any artifacts related to lower resolution. My reasons for prefering old gen is - first one pure asthetic choice, i prefer color balance, i prefer lighting, i don't like post process effects in 8th gen version (especialy blue haze), i think simpler vegetation fitted better the game world and so on. The second reason is that during the release of new patches some gameplay changes were made - the vehicle destruction in old gen is nicer (you can almost shape your car just by kicking it), and ai vehicles will not try to ram into you whenever you start driving a bit faster and so on. That being said i miss first person on few occasions especialy flying jet or driving motorbikes.
You can achive most of what you want on modded pc version if you are patient with modding.
And i have to say i haven't played PS5 version, which seems to have again changed color balance/timecycle to a bit nicer than 8th gen - and support for ps5 controler haptic triggers must feel nice so i guess that would be really fun.
The jump from 3 to 4 you can see but from 4 to 5 you can feel if that makes any sense, it’s feels smoother and faster on ps5 but it looks very similar to ps4

I have a question if you play the ps4 version of gta 5 on the ps5 are the graphics the same as ps4 or ps5?
I used to run GTA 5 at high presets/native 4K/60fps using a 2009 CPU (Xeon 5470, overclocked) and GTX 980Ti.
Just to give an anecdotal example. That old PC got pretty hot, but it was fun to push 2160p/60fps in many games with a 2009 quad core CPU 😪

@@DrJones20 further edit: using the stock build only. No heavy mods. Also - this was a few years ago (in case the game has become worse performing on PC since - been a while), and that spec was managing 4K 60 single-player only. I've actually never played GTA Online. Around 6 months after release, game was pretty damn optimized on PC.
The graphic update is minimal on PS5
Textures are Ultra, so at minimum, objects look much cleaner.
Ultimately the update is about frame rate, but the graphics are definitely a bit better. Brings them more in line with the PC version.

At night when it rains, I switch to fidelity mode to enjoy the patched RT-reflections. The judder of 30FPS isn't that noticeable in those conditions. Other than that, I always switch back to Performance RT to retain ray-traced shadows, preferring 60fps over RT reflections. But the real question is why can't Rockstar do RT Reflections at 60fps like what Insomniac does for Spider-Man and Ratchet and Clank?

By being a console player my entire life, seeing most games running at 60fps on a console makes me so happy, it's a shame that took 5 generations for this.
In fidelity mode the reflections looks RT as well, or at least very good ssr compared ti performance and RT performance mode

The increase from the PS3 to the PS4 was actually huge! But I'm still happy with the upgrades we got. I've got an Xbox Series X although I'm a little surprised they can't get 60 fps at 4k. 🤔
Maybe GTA6 will have 4k at 60fps but apparently it will have graphics like Unreal Engine 5 but made in house and it's Rockstar so they will push the consoles to their limits

I find it interesting how performace RT has more grass density than normal performance mode.... resolution wise they look the same so i dont understand the normal performance mode setting if ray traced performance is clearly better
I don't think it has more, it just that they have shadows so it looks quite better.

Grass density is the same, it’s just that grass in performance RT has shadows due to RT shadows in the game
