FYI gas stations don't charge more for credit. I prefer certain BP gas stations as they have the same price cash or credit. Also I use the BP app and pay with out sliding the card into a reader.
One you missed is rideshare. Uber or Lyft is now a bonus category on some cards.
I guess i include that in travel
I suggest reading the reviews on the Amazon card. Lots of complaints from people getting their card closed for no apparent reason other than actually using the card.
Awesome info, thanks Shifu!
very informative!
I use PayPal for my sketchy online merchants. Their policy is easier to use then the credit cards
Thats good too
At some gas stations doesn’t trigger the credit if you pay inside. Had this experience with 7 11
Man this just makes me mad i didn't get a card earlier. Lost out on history, points and protections smh.
My feelings as well. Lots of missed opportunity.
For groceries I would use ebt snap 👍🏽
well I guess if you have that, yeah its basically free money. use a credit card with a good bonus for any over spend
glad im watching this video at the age of 18 & learned that my credit card isnt really useful to me in a way … it is obviously but what i mean by that… the purpose of a credit card is to prove you dont need the money they give you with that being said im staying under 15% and not using my card ( no im not saying a card is useless
stay under 9% buddy
Cellphone is a tough one. Verizon give 10 dollars per line discount if you pay with a checking account. I have 5 lines.
Is paying 50 dollars a month More to have Amex platinum protection worth it?
You can and should use your debit card for that so you have some protection if your account is compromised. I also pay my Verizon bill with my debit card because I am saving $120 per year and that is more that enough to save me money that would exceed any insurance payment that I would get from a damaged phone claim.
Hummm. Everyone I know using Verizon is paying way too much for cell service. Just a thought.
@@rolandweaver7983 You got issues? I've got a recommendation for you, you mind?
Helmut Liess, I can recommend a expert who is good at what he does to you. You mind?
@@rolandweaver7983 For me, it’s important to be able to make phone calls or receive phone calls when I need to in my house or when I travel. I used to have T-Mobile for 10+ years, the service was great until I moved. T-Mobile in my areas is terrible. When I was in my house, or any guests came to my house with T-Mobile plans, there was no signals. Could not make phone calls or receive calls/ messages. I switched to Verizon.
Awesome information
Great videos all year !!!!!! The helped.
Show us a picture of you when you were younger, bet you looked like actor Robert Iler from " Sopranos "
Thanks for the video!
Great video thanks! Happy New Year!
FYI gas stations don't charge more for credit. Visa, MC, amex, discover charge businesses a fee to be able to accept payments with credit cards(usually 3%) they just pass on the fee to customers that want to use credit cards to pay for gas. That's how credit card companies are able to give cash back rewards by taking a % from businesses and giving a % of their % to their customers. Don't blame businesses if they don't want to pay your cash back rewards.
Well regardless of how you word it, the effect is that there is a higher price for credit cards and a lower price for cash in most states
Awesome video!! This should convince the skeptics hopefully lmao
Awesome thanks 😊
Technically it violates their cardholder agreement to charge more for card.
Great video.
Can i pay my discover card with internet and electric bill!
What household Bill's can be paid by credit card ... mortgage? Rent? Power bill?
Good information
Thank you
EASIER EXPLANATION:
Try not to spend more than 30% of ur Credit Limit & if you do, make sure before your statement closes its UNDER 30%. I’ve noticed when I leave a small balance like $30 by my closing date it helps my credit score jump more than when I use to pay it off completely.
The untrustworthy website is true I bought something online only to have a different item shipped. Luckily the credit card was able to credit the charge.
So not all gas stations charge for credit card usage. In northern Michigan there is no separate price for using a card
It depends on state
This is only a thing in New Jersey! For the most part, I’ve driven up and down the East Coast from New York down to Miami.
What's the only thing in NJ?
@@TheCreditShifu they charge more for gas. When you use credit card vs. cash.
@@gabrielduran311 incorrect, it does vary by state to state, but I live in NY and i can confirm they have different prices for cash and card, usually about a 10c differance
@@TheCreditShifu ok. I stand corrected! Thought it was just Jersey!
Funny you mention Apple products dying right out of warranty. My iPhone 11 Pro screen went out on my not even a month after the Applecare expired so I just ended up ordering a 13 Pro to replace it and eventually I plan to get the 11 Pro fixed and keep it.
Cash is the thing
Stack gold
Stack silver
Stack cash
What about my phone, electric bill?
Been through this experience untill I met a guru who is good at what he does, you need recommendation?
Unfortunately, I have a card with great gas rewards but where I live the up-charge for using a CC is more than twice the rewards. I basically carry cash only for gas.
No upcharge use gas station card
Yes. I use cash for gas these days. I’m in California
Yeah understandable
I use cash at gas stations lol
Not all Mastercard world elite offer cell phone insurance. For example, the citi trifecta
Yeah, shoulda said “most” not “all”, my bad
@@TheCreditShifu FYI, Bank of America MC World Elite cards don't have it either. I confirmed with them directly when I had the Virgin Atlantic card.
Good video
You should do a video on the new Kroger Credit Card
Proud money has something under store credit cards 14 minute video.
No upcharge use gas station card
Boom 💥
Good
Our regular car insurance plan will cover rental car accidents as if driving our own car.
You dont want that, since if you have an accident in a rental, your monthly premium will go up, you want primary CDW, then that covers it and your insurance company never has to know there was an accident
is it okay to pay housing rent with credit card ?
Check out the Bilt card for that
@@TheCreditShifu oh what happens if I use my discover it card for rent ?
@@ployth9000 if your landlord has a payment system that will accept a card payment then use it, but most dont. That is where the Bilt card comes in, it can convert your credit card payment to a check and send to your landlord
on the mastercard world elite website I didnt see the phone protection on their anymore Is it still a thing?
So yeah it used to be on there for every card, but now it seems it is if the issuing bank has chosen to include it
I use gift cards for gas that I purchase with my Best Buy credit card, it runs cash price, technically it will be better if I buy them with chase freedom or discover it though, but I got declined for who knows why …
It really hurt though. You need recommendation and quick guide to get approved?
@@tomcarter5736 thanks for the offer but they said my income is too low. I asked to move limits from my Amazon card (currently at 4k) and only $500 on the freedom but it was still denied
@@YanLuo I can help you get approved.
if i use snap benefit on grocery, how do i use cc for the reward ?
You cant, SNAP is its own card, so you wouldnt be able to use a credit card. Maybe there is a sneaky way of buying a gift cards with snap to pay off the credit card, but probably not since snap is limited to food items, the cash register wont even ring you up if you try to buy something else
@@TheCreditShifu I understand. And no, I tried the gift cards thing but. I luck. Thought I can have someone else’s cake and eat it too 😔
Ihg is ending its cell phone protection Jan 1,2022. Any suggestions on what card still offers it at a high rate of coverage?
freedom flex and amex platinum have good phone protection. some business cards offer it too, like the wyndham business.
@@aaronc6997 cool. I will check those out. Thanks
@@aaronc6997 It’s nice that the Freedom Flex has no annual fee. I’m not sure which other cards have cell phone protection without an annual fee.
Well done…..
I always have cash, because I have money. 😂
IF!................ They approve you
That MaxRewards is dumb AF. Ya you get a free month but it’s not a trial month it’s they charge you for the entire year then deduct a months worth from that. SMH
Damn wish I had as much subscribers as you
Does the Platinum have 2 years of extended warranty?
Amex has 1 year of extended warranty. Citi had 2 years on their cards, but after they nerfed benefits in 2019, the cards left with this were the Costco Visa and Prestige.
I rarely carry cash but I like to have at least 5k on me at all time. never know when u might need cash
Wow!
Or when someone
Else might need your 5k. Foolish to have that amount on you.
My gas station treats my debit card like cash. I prefer that rather then the extra .10 cents per gallon increase
... kash? What the Hell is that?
Lol
I like your video but I dislike the talk of the rewards.
You dont want to earn rewards, cash back etc? Free money for you
@@TheCreditShifu I Use my credit card for subscriptions, And gas, And for all my online shopping. But what I do not agree with is I get 1% cash back. So if I spend a $1000 I only get $10 back. Don't get me wrong I enjoy your videos and I am a subscriber
Has anyone told you how good looking you are?
