Thanks Chris!! My gloves smell like a dead skunk 😂
Same 😂
I think you’ve mentioned this on one of your other videos, but adding vinegar to the wash also helps kill the bacteria. I use it in lieu of fabric softener.
Funny! I was thinking of it this morning! Thank you for your videos they are always useful
Thanks for the video! I’ve wanted to clean the hubs hockey gloves because they’re getting a little fresh. And now I can without worry. Much appreciated!
Adding white vinegar to the wash is fantastic odor killer for hockey gear!
Thanks for sharing!
I keep a dehumidifier in my basement to control the dampness and found it accelerates drying my gear.
The ceiling in my laundry room is unfinished so I use a few nails in the rafters to hang my pants and helmet while using exposed pipes to hang my shin guards and clothes hangers for my jersey, shoulder pads, and hang my elbow pads on a bungee that wraps through them.
I also have a single level drying rack to serve my thermal gear, gloves, and socks.
I’m happy with my drying setup as it takes little floor space but due to the inevitability of delay to dry gear immediately after use, I found my gloves smelling so that’s what pulled me to your video.
A preventative bioreactive spray is the next addition to my system.
Been waiting for this!
Thanks. Very helpful. As much as the one about drying skates properly
Sweet! Thank you! Love the tips!
Very informative. Thanks.
Thanks for the tips, sweating like crazy here playing in-line hockey in Maui, I just take gear out of bag right away and used water hose spray on them and hanging up outside 😁
Braddah playing back in the islands no need worry about mainland weather, hose n hang back home but mainland gotta do em like this cuz get freezing or wet temps outside. Das how June tao
great video. Cheers mate
Such a useful video
thanks for the help!
After every game, I spray some Febreeze 0% perfume in my gloves to eliminate any bad odours and every month or so, I rubbed in some shaving cream on the palms (inside and outside) to make them super soft (with a great smell). I have used this combination for about two years now and it worked very well on all my gloves.
Cool trying this
Don't forget to clean your equipment bag from time to time as well. Packing sweaty, smelly gear into your bag after practice or a game can lead to bacterial buildup inside that can stick around even after you've cleaned your equipment.
+BernardJTarver Great tip!
Ah true, didn’t think about that 😆
Love the vids. Still waiting for the best gloves under $100.
DOMINATOREDWING just saying that best gloves doesn't make you better player 😉
Smurf lol well played. I just want the most bang for the buck.
DOMINATOREDWING CCM ultra tacks from hockeymonkey is pretty good deal
Warrior QRL4s - you're welcome.
The sportchek near me had the warrior qr1 for around $89.99 Cad and qrpros for like $69.99 CAd. You just gotta look and be patient
Thx hockey Tutorial
I put each of my gloves in a pillow case and then put them on a quick wash at 30, then air dry them.
Also I have baby wipes in my kit bag to wipe down my stick, gloves and helmet.
And it doesn’t ruin the gloves at all?
@@davidlenard7297 my gloves we're always fine after, I have played for 18 months so I can't say my method works for current gloves.
@AlanDaGamer YT the lowest
Please make a video showing how to sharpen different types of blades like polished, carbon ect
Does the type of detergent madder as far as quality goes. Is the cheap detergent just as good as the more name brand? Would a “sports specific” detergent be the best way to clean hockey gear?
No matter what I do everyone tells me my mittens....are filthy. I'm 2 years later buuuut I think it was worth it. Gloves came out great thank you for the info
I spray all my equipment with captodor (an antibacterial and anti odour spray made for hockey equipment) after every game and practice and then dry it
It’s my birthday on Friday getting new hockey gear BUZZING #icehockey !!!😂💙🏒🥅
Is it ok if i use regular wash8ng detergent that i use for clothes?
I just lick mine.
TheWiskyHalfmaican lmao gross

Hi Chris I just got a new stick and it a bit big please may you do a video on cutting your stick as I don’t know how to
James Watkins cut it with a saw put a piece of tape down where you’re cutting to prevent splintering
I did wash gloves and equipment cold water I had an agitator in my washer so I opened the lid and pushed the equipment down as if I am soaking it and I used Borax foe Detergent closed lid let it do a spin to drain the water from machine and i pulled out my shin guards pants elbow pads and Gloves put bounce dryer sheet and stuffed them in the holes stuck a fan in front 5 hours later bone dry and odor was gone.
is it smart or a good idea to take your gloves in a shoe air warmer after the games or is it a bad idea?
I use the Rocket Dryer for all my gear after every game. I pull out that flap that goes against the back of your hand and stick some dryer sheets in the gloves while they're in the Rocket Dryer. That flap soaks up a lot of moisture so make sure it's free to breathe too.
Rocket Dryers are good but your gear being hit repeatedly with heat isn't always great for expensive skate liners and gloves. Still a big fan of them though.
can it be smart to take your gloves in a hear warmer after a training?
Hey
Hello Chris, I'm just starting to play and was wondering if you have any old or extra gear lying around you can sell.
I dry my equipment a lot. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment so I can't leave them out until I use them but I try and open up my bag frequently. That is why I have the best smelling equipment. No stink
Hi
Would this process work for other pieces of gear?
I probably need to make a 2023 version of this video
Does this work for lacrosse gloves too?
yes I just did on my EVO pros
Hockey and lacrosse gloves are the same
I got some gloves...from a AHL player. To late they stink.
Anyone know any videos of NHL players putting on their gear? Preferably someone who likes their skate tongue under the shins.
DisturbedRocks31 put on your skates, socks and hockey pants before your shin guards. When ready to put the shins on, pull down the socks to the angle level, put on the shin pads, and then pull up the socks and do whatever you do to make them stay up.
👍✌️😊
Can we put soap in
Dude, Cut the tags hanging all around the cuff.
Chris, how can I clean my hockey pants? They won't fit in the washing machine?
Take them to a laundromat, they normally have large machines. I've done this a few times before I had a big enough machine at home. Hope that helps.
I think partly id want my equipment to break to have an excuse to buy newer better stuff
Can you buy me some mitts my guy?

Try newspapers in the gloves it takes out the Oder from what I heard.
I use a mixture of mint rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide into a spray bottle and it makes everything smell better ps 50 50 mix
I put this ball I my gloves that I got a a shoe Store and they make me gloves smell good
naomi tink they don't kill the bacteria though
Drink every time he says "crispy."

I like my gloves like my chips CRISPY
Luke Yoder bruh...what are you high on?😂

I bet an air conditioned room with a fan would help remove almost all moisture
