Another importance of Harbin to Chinese and Russian culture exchanges is that traditional Russian Royal cuisine has disappeared in Russia long time ago. The inheritance of traditional Russian Royal cuisine exists in Harbin only all over the world.

Major banks are predicting decades of stagnation in China similar to what hit Japan in the 1990s. And XI knows this because the last thing he needs are western economic sanctions. Harbin was founded by Russian settlers in 1898 as a station on the then-under construction Chinese-Eastern Railway (CER).
On February 14th, 1950, Stalin signed the Soviet-Chinese treaty of friendship, alliance and mutual assistance. According to it, the USSR donated to China all the property of the CER (Chinese-Eastern Railway, built back in the days of tsarist Russia), and returned the leased ice-free port of Dalny. He also provided a loan of $ 300 million at 1% per annum and sent China the best specialists for the rapid rise of industry.
In 1954, Khrushchev transferred the Port Arthur naval base to the People's Republic of China.
On May 19, 1991, Gorbachev handed over Damansky Island on the Ussuri River in Primorsky Krai to China. In total, Russia under Yeltsin's leadership in the early 1990s gave China about 600 islands on the Amur and Ussuri rivers, as well as 10 km2 of land territory.
In 2004, Putin signed an agreement between Moscow and Beijing, according to which China transferred a number of islands on the Amur and Ussuri rivers with a total area of 337 km2.

I remember visiting China once as a little kid. My mom and grandma were busy at a spa, so I had to wait in the lobby for them. I was just sitting there bored, when all of a sudden a man approached me and offered his hand to me. I was confused, so instinctively I took it, then he sat me on his shoulders and carried me out of the spa. Being the tiny child I was at the time I barely even considered that I might be getting kidnapped and just went along with it. Anyways, I ride on his shoulders until we reach a convenience store. There, he points at some chips and asks me in a very broken semi-english semi-russian accent "chips?" I shake my head "no" in response, since my parents taught me that chips are bad for you. Then he points at some ice-cream. I consider saying no, since ice-cream is also unhealthy, but I don't want to deny the man a second time and potentially lose out, so I nod my head "yes". The man then buys me the ice-cream, puts me back on his shoulders, carries me back to the spa, sits me down there, shakes my hand and leaves. The ladies working at the spa also serve me some green tea. A few minutes later, my mom and grandma come out, and I tell them what just happened. My mom is shocked and upset, but my grandma is more calm and relaxed. She says the man did that because they like white kids in China. Anyways that is my experience of how nice and hospitable the Chinese people are, I will always hold them in high regard.

Harbin is actually the pronunounciation of Russian word Харбин. It was a transport hub for Russians to build railway in northeast China in the late 19th centrutry and the early 20th centrury. The city was ruled by Russians during 1898-1926. There is no clear definitiion about the actual Russian meaning for Harbin. One poppular guessing is that this was the name of a Russian girl, who was the daugther of a Russian manager for the local train station

The propaganda projection towards China " threatening" and towards Russia " humiliation" would not work . Neither Russia nor China depends on each other it appears that they have come across the acceptance of reality and avoid the path of dependancy to enter the uncharted domain of respect and honour each other equally for themselves and the world not to collapse. If it is not the case and they follow the same path of Western legacy the world would end earlier than thought. I only would wish the former as the path taken.

We remember, but we will not demand anything.

Now that the West has tried to cut off Russia, Russia probably has a lot of business deals to discuss here, and see how we (China) can facilitate whatever Russia needs to win the SMO. The same happens across Central Asia.
