Developing The Non-Preferred Functions with Dario Nardi

  • Earlier this summer I (virtually) sat down with Dr. Dario Nardi to chat about shadow functions, type development and how much emphasis we should place on our neurological wiring vs our environmental conditioning when it comes to understanding our personalities.
    If you aren't already well acquainted with Dario's work, you are doing yourself a huge disservice. His newest book, "The Magic Diamond: Jung's 8 Paths For Self-Coaching" goes over many of the topics we covered here in depth. Hang on to the end to hear me talk more about it! And make sure you check out www.darionardi.com to keep up to date with his research!

    I love Heidi's comment about Ni being scientific yet open to the supernatural. That's the power of intuiting :D

      Or is Ni into the supernatural and open to being scientific? ;)

    As an INTP I think ENFPs are awesome! I learn so much by watching a mature ENFP navigate interpersonal exchanges. Learning about other functions through the lens of a dominate user and then taking time to integrate that new awareness with my dominate is turning into one of my favorite hobbies as I get older.
    What a great interviewer! Excellent questions, really enjoy your channel and subscribed!
    I see society's ignorance of cognitive diversity as an actual emergency... So thanks for all you do Dr. Nardi and Heidi, I look forward to watching more!

    I love Dario. I loved his presentation about ENFP's. I feel like he totally gets us lol. The first thing that comes to my mind whenever I come across him is the point in his presentation when he was talking about ENFPs and the way our entire brain lights up over everything, even seeing a puppy... "Oooooh a puppy"... 🤣😂🤣 That resonated so hard with me. Love it. Great interview.

    Awesome! So what i am hoping to learn about is,how do i recognize what personality type environment i grew up in,how that affected me,how to grow my Ne and how developed is it? I am having more confidence it is my dominant now,thanks to you.
    I loved how humble he was,admitting things like how he approached play as tasks(which i kind of did growing up). I really want his books now!

    Huh, interesting point about Barbados and its ESFP culture. Dario Nardi is one of the most extroverted/chill INTJs I've seen in the community. He might be able to tap into the ESFP side of himself (taking from the 4 sides of the mind / socionics theory.)

  • @jaredvaughan1665
    @jaredvaughan1665 2 роки тому +2

    Thank goodness Darionardi is not attached to existing Ne (as Ne is his Socionics ignoring function) theories that would otherwise prejudice his Ni-Te-Fi-Se actual findings.

    INTJs and ENFPs form a Socionics pedagogue relationship. So lots of learning from each other.

  • @jaredvaughan1665
    @jaredvaughan1665 2 роки тому +1

    Carl Jung, like Berens, Keirsey, Claudia Naranjo, and so many other typologists, was an INTP that specialized in pumping out Ne theories.
    But it is the INTJs and INFJs that do the hard Se science to prove them.
    One more proof Jung was correct when he stated his dominant cognitive function was introverted thinking. And he was primarily a thinker and not a feeler.
