Hi - Firstly great series thank you. With regard to the car charger I have seen posting that the DJI car charger that comes with Combo kit does not work with some cars due to voltage being below 13V? I have this issue.Can you tell me if the one you have works with all cars especially the Hybrid cars like the Toyota Prius?

Do you recommend the Polar Pro lens filters? If so could you do a video on those? I was looking at the Cinema 6 Pack from Polar Pro and actually ordered it from amazon because i got the 6 pack for the price of one 3 pack, it is out of stock now so I hope it will come and they dont cancel my order since I got such a good deal on it.

Thanks I've subscribed - Is there a ND filter you recommend - I've just seem a list on another video but it was a set for £50 is there just one ND filter I could buy for less. A mid range number that would cover most situations.
Great Videos! I have bought the legs. they work well. I'm also looking at a betting lighting system, especially if it's up in the sky after dark that I can easily spot my Mavic. Question, what is the difference between the Magic Car charger on their website (DJI) and your car charger? Besides the price? Is it safe? How reliable is it? why is it so much cheaper? Can you charge all 4 battaries with your car charger in the battery hub as well, is it powerful enough?

One question I'm in colombia South America I got my mavic from an eBay authorize DJI dealer I paid for it oct 15 and is still not here, there is a DJI dealer here in Colombia.... I didn't buy it here cause I though it was faster getting it directly from the USA but buy but is not here.... what do you think I can do? Keep on waiting or get my money back and buy it here even if I have to wait a bit more ?

I read in the manual that the front legs enclose the antennas. Does the front leg extender may inerfere with the antennas functions? Thanks in advance.

Great info Rick. I have been following the development of the dji quadcopters since the phantom first came out. The Mav Pro is finally the first one that might tweak me to blow off the coin to get it. I'm ready lol. My question for you is... "What would you recommend as a display source.

Other tablets? I don't own a phone, so your recommendation might sway the way I go with iphone ~ galaxy or other phone...or just skip the phone and go with something else.

Very informative video. The Mavic Pro I have came with a car charger for the drone battery. I am wondering about charging the controller away from home. I bought a cord to connect the home charger to the controller. Is it safe to connect the same cord to your car's USB port? I don't have a 110 volt plug in our car.
Doug, thanks for the post and you can charge the controller with any USB charger using the same cord you now have. It should be a USB-A connector on one end (the large one) and a MicroUSB connector on the other end. No worries, Rick

The ground clearance kit is a good idea. I also carry with me a portable landing pad made with interlocking foam pads. These are between 18" - 24" square. 4 of them makes a perfect landing pad.
Hey Rick, another great video. I had the intentions of waiting for Mavic Pro but have an opportunity to get a used DJI inspire v1. What would you recommend please? I value your opinion.

GARETH P please allow me to jump in.
depends on your purpose of use and cost. inspire is a pro's tool made for more of a commercial purpose. it's LARGE in the case. the camera platform is far better because you upgrade if needed. can even look at zoom options. dji should support it for a long time. also, it's an end user repair type of device. you don't have to send it back to dji for repair like they recommend for the mavic.
in short, if I could get an inspire for the price of a mavic I would jump on it!

Good video but I saw another review of the range extenders that actually lost distance.!? The mavic car charger is twice the watts output of the AC charger, much faster charge. Doesn't make sense but there you go. Do the extended legs get into the camera view?
NorthOlbo Maybe fast charging somehow damages batteries if use it too often?
It could in an unregulated charger but the DJI car charger must be a protective circuit
Thanks for the post and I have seen a few clips where people claim these reflectors don't help but my experience (on both the Mavic and the Phantom) is that they help a lot. I'm not sure what brand of reflector they are using but with mine I get a much stronger signal, which allows me to fly in noiser environments with confidence. I'm not using them to break a distance record since I can only see about 3000 feet if I'm being honest so flying beyond that is breaking the rules. For a small price I can feel secure in flying in urban areas and not have to worry about losing connection. As for the charger, the one I have on the website is over-voltage and over-current protected so its totally fine for the Mavic cells. It takes 30-45 minutes to charge the cell in the car for me on average. I hope that helps and thanks again for the post. Rick

Ground clearance kit and 25mm 90° power cable ordered. I'm hoping the end will fit into the iPhone 7 and iPad otterbox defender cases. The DJI one doesn't have the depth.

Devin, the range extenders boost all of the signal from the controllers, which helps to both extend the range you can fly as well as providing a more consistent signal in close. I care more about having a strong signal when flying in close so that I can overcome any noise in the area that a stock controller wouldn't be able to accomodate. How does the lift kit work for the Mavic doesn't have to be level when you started up so you get your balance right
Larry, Install the kit before powering up your Mavic and you'll be fine. All it does is lift the craft a few more inches off the ground to provide the critical clearance you'll need to avoid issues with the gimbal coming in contact with grass and other debris. It has no affect on the sensors or flight characteristics. I hope that helps and thanks for the comment. Be sure to sub the channel so you don't miss any updates. Rick

Another professionally done video...👍 I agree with all but the range extender... I too saw a you tube video of them not doing anything positive for reception...do you have any sort of video showing them actually helping..I would love to believe they really do work !! thanks
Thanks for the post and I commented on this in another post earlier. I have seen a few clips on UA-cam that purport to "debunk" the effectiveness of these range extenders. The challenge is that they are coming to their conclusions using the signal meter on the remote as their metric, which is sketchy at best. As I mentioned in the clip, the main reason for using these is for an overall boost in your signal strength. The principle on which these are based (parabolic reflection) is a well documented technology and the entire bases for the DirectTV network, so it does work to concentrate your signal in a particular direction. For me, this matters most in close where I do most of my flying (inside of 3000m). Trying to use them to effectively increase the overall distance of the quad is somewhat pointless since you'd be well beyond VLOS at that point and violating the FAA regulations. I use them almost every time I fly and appreciate that I have a stronger signal in "noisy" environments that helps me avoid video and control dropouts. I really appreciate the comment but had to explain my support of this technology. Thanks, Rick

I saw a video for a landing skid for the Mavic, the Arris XL landing skid. I don't know if it was just a prototype or not, but I feel it is the best overall landing platform short of bringing your own landing pad with you, like how Adam Savage does.
These kinds of videos are GOLD, keep em coming! I haven´t recieved my Mavic yet, but I feel confident enough for this drone that I have started to picking up/looking up some great accessories while I wait for it. The Ground Clearance Kit, extra gimbal hoods (for some DIY), transport protection for the controller sticks and the most recent purchase, an awesome custom backpack (with molle attachments), Microraptor Pro Custom Backpack (specifically for DJI Mavic Pro)...check it out! john leong if it loses controller connection it should return home... lose gps connection and you'll have to manually bring it back (considering it's still in your view).... lose connection to both at the same time you're probably screwed. It most likely won't happen but there's always a chance with technology
I have seen other Mavic Pro users who have tried the 'Range Extender' and it makes the signal worse on the Mavic Pro but work fine on the Phantoms

I don't have a mavic but you guys sure are making me want one.... having a great time with my phantom 3 advanced though
i live in the northeast preordered the mavic several months ago, i can't seem to get one. i heard there were problems with it and DJI stopped shipping to their dealers.
Negative, shipping is at full production rate and timeline has decreased from 6-8 weeks down to 4-6 weeks. Be patient. Huge demand. Several people are waiting 2-3 months, as I'm sure you have.

What good do a bunch of Mavic batteries do when your remote battery is not interchangeable?
Andy, I did a clip a few weeks back that explains how you can actually charge the controller while flying through the side MicroUSB port. I use a portable charger to do this and can fly for hours this way. Let me know if you need the link to the clip and thanks for the post. Rick
