- Опубліковано 2 жов 2024
- Alain Poupart and Omar Kelly break down all angles of the Miami Dolphins' selections on the third and final of the 2024 NFL draft from a Dolphins angle, and whether they made the right choice, discuss what's ahead, and more. As a reminder, you can follow Omar at @OmarKelly and Alain at @PoupartNFL.
Greatest quote by Omar ever " if you got the midas touch baby, you keep touching it" referring to Mike Mcdaniels ability to find RBs.
7 pm live chat...gonna miss you Omar
Good luck to both of you! Will miss the interaction, but was fans of you both separately before this began, and will continue to support you both.
At first I didn’t like our draft but after taking a deeper look at each player, I feel that we had actually had a good draft. We got better and deeper at premium positions( T, Edge, Wr) and added a guy who has the potential to be RB 1 by yr2 . I watched Colorado vs Colorado St play and I remember Mo dominating in that game. He is a DAWG. I also really LOVE Chop speed of the edge, you can’t coach that. He has the traits to become an elite pass rusher. I watched UVA play a couple times as well, I think Malik will have replaced berrios as WR3 by season end. All in all got better depth and high potential guys in this draft. I give it a B+ with potential to become a A.
My grade is a solid B. Today Grier did well.
I went to Southridge High School from 1988 to 1992 and was coached by Don Soldinger!
Was it 6-4 then a state title?
@@nativemiami77 The State Title game against Orlando Evans in the Swamp ended in a tie. I think they changed the rule after that.
Spartan up
So sad y’all are breaking up , this was our favorite.
Lol you didn't see it coming? Tension so thick, you can cut it with a knife.
@@OG364U no I didn’t feel that at all. They both seemed much happier than when either were on the Big O show. I think it’s more of a financial decision honestly.
Just when you thought you've seen it all. Here comes Storm Duck. Cheetah, Waddle, Duck to complete the zoo. I'm optimistic about the players. They look like high character, high effort and high upside guys. We can call our receivers the Surf Smurfs. 🏄♂️
Za'Quandre White is who you were thinking of Alain.
The running back is a GREAT PICK for 2024 ..because if u both have forgotten...Moster's AGE and Injury history makes it a GREAT PICK
Very true! I’ve been saying the same! I’m a big Achane fan but I also believe bc of size he will never be a true #1. Wright has the size and speed and pass protecting ability. Only thing that worries me is his indecisiveness
When running inside but he’s gonna get lots of practice reps bc mostert barely practices so he’ll have plenty of opportunities to improve year 1 even if he’s not seeing the field that much
Exactly
It is funny that if Paupart doesn’t know the player, he thinks automatically he is not good. He should spend more time analyzing players than just following what others say. I have seen him play several times and I think is a great addition for the team. I don’t claim to be a draftnik but if I have not seen a player, I don’t say he is no good.
We had no healthy running backs at the end of the year, this solves that problem. Of course, we don’t know if we are having the same issue this year, but you have to be proactive and not have to get whoever is available at the end of the year. Most of the time those player are not in a team for a reason.
True but let’s be honest. Who did we draft that we know for sure will start this season?
I think you forget we have Chris brooks we needed to address a different position
The first thought I had with the Wright selection is what if they don't want Hill running that pre snap jet motion. If we are going to run a lot of 2WR 2TE 2RB then you need 3 so you don't wear them down. Achane and Mostert are good pass catchers. So that jet sweep pre snap player could be a hybrid slot/RB
Bingo
Love this draft! Addresses every position that was decimated by injury in December. Lets Go Dolphins!
Is omar gonna cry on monday
Gaurenteed
Speed is cute until you get manhandled. We'll outrun the inferior teams and will fold against the Bills, Chiefs, Ravens. Our head coach isn't tough and the team reflects that. Truth, until we get a Dan Campbell type, which unfortunately Miami didn't recognize his talent at the time.
Spot on
Congrats Omar on your new job and I will follow you wherever you go, you are amazing bro.
Hope will find time to stick here as well. 😊
Never forget tha night B.Cox ran up on tha Bengals whole team alone ... Legendary Dolphins history right there poup
Rember that Cox was ready to take on all the Bengals Loved Brian Cox
Alain is dead wrong about Jaylen Wright. If the dolphins get a 1000 yard back in the 4th round, no one is going to complain... except Alain maybe
6PM or 7PM - Good job on your draft coverage and the analyst you had brought on.
Bryan Cox was my favorite Dolphin of all time
Very sad that the dynamic duo is breaking up.
The dolphins tried to trade up for ricky pearsal or Xavier leggette. They tried to get some size and catch radius at WR. I am not sure that they thought both of them would be first round picks. If they fell to second I am pretty sure they would have had an easier time trading for one of them.
7pm, damn I'm gonna miss yall going back and forth! Upward and onward, gentlemen!
Tony Pauline got the punter in the 4th round correct.
brian cox was the DOG of the dolphins
At South Ridge we also had Cedric Irvin in that backfield 3 headed monster
You guys are amazing, I will miss you together, I will follow you both and wish you every success in the new path you take. Go Phins!!
From Brooks to Mostert, 5 RBs were injured. So I believe Wright is a need.
Dudes - we got jaylen wright, mo kamara and malik washington.Dolphins KILLED it on Day3!!!!!
All in the 4th round or later. Great draft. Those will be three contributors this year
I personally like the RB because he has good size, breakaway speed, and can pass protect. In our run blocking scheme he can get downhill in a hurry and bust a long run. Plus he broke lots of tackles in college playing in the SEC. He’s a good pick on his own merit, but when you also consider that our RB room cannot stay healthy, it makes it an even better pick.
I agree with Omar here on the Jaylen pick go get who you like. And no concerns with the team looking ahead to the future.
Was a decent draft. Should've put more priority on o line, speedy line backers and a qb to develope. Also thr 2nd round pick is a project type player. Those picks should be day 3 picks
They'll add 1 FA and 2 UDFAs to compete for line spots
Speedy lbs? We already have those and there’s no good ones in the draft? Lb class was ass that’s why we signed 2 in the offseason did you forget free agency?
We are good at LB. Brooks and Wright will contribute big time this year. I think we are okay with the O-line. Plus, I’m sure they will sign someone once Xs 18 mill comes off the books.
@@miltonjoyner7200 who is wright? Do you mean walker or long? Unless you mean jaylen wright and he’s not a lb
30:51 “The Dolphins think they can outrun their problems”. Not a bad headline. Touché Alain.
As an analytical DUO, I’m gonna miss Y’all.❤️✝️🇺🇸
I believe Jalen Wright will be a big factor in the new return game..That’s something to consider when talking about a quick twitch 4.38 speedy 4th round RB 😊
Omar just makes up 💩 to defend his bizarre takes. He literally just said Mostert and Achane wasn’t the problem last year, now he’s saying “Achane had btoken rib…”
And thank you Poupart for pointing out this RB was available as late as he was, while Omar is saying “…he has no holes in his game”
I like a good debate of differing opinions but Zomars takes are just so outer space. He brought up D. Smythe as a 4th round pick as if Smythe isn’t just “a guy”. Omar’s just a stubborn child. “…maybe, maybe not…” 🤦🏽♂️
Omar: I don’t know why Dalton Risner keeps not getting work.
A second later
Also Omar: Yeah, I remember seeing Dalton Risner on the ground a lot on film.
🤷🏽♂️. You can’t make it up!
Any pick, regardless of which round they were in, is a great pick if the player turns out to be great. Nobody on earth knows if they will be for 1-3 years. Congrats everyone. I just saved you from needing to watch 900 hours of 'draft talk'.
Very concerned over how fast the coaching staff can develop our first 2 picks into impact starters.
The rest of the draft is good depth. Washington #1 and RB should contribute throughout season.
Both edges will get early playing time due to the injures at that position.
Was really negative about this draft but it’s not my job on the line so what do I know?
Def need a IOL, DT, and S probably could use another depth CB too.
Biggest issue with the RB room the
Past 2 years has been. INJURIES. Now you have a better chance of not dropping off in talent
Omar sorry for your hard year, truly feel for you. I couldn’t stand Omar probably 5yrs ago but that more a me issue. Feel absolutely in love with him when I saw Omar on ironically big os post game. Omar is fantastic on Joe’s show, hopefully he keeps doing that. Best of luck Omar,
Loius Riddicks track record is very similar to kris Greer. He’s way overrated not very accurate either. That’s why he’s got let go multiple times the good thing about him. He’s not a brown Noser like Chris Greer.
Kansas City won the Super Bowl with a great defense and quarterback. What is the state of the Dolphins defense? Would like you guys to do an objective look at defense and new defensive coordinator before your break-up. Made a lot of fans happy looking forward to your daily podcasts. Much success to both of you as we go into another football season.
You can’t trade contemporary picks so we would have to give them our third which hopefully is going to be low because we’re going to be in the Super Bowl🐬🆙🫡
Bryan Cox- when I think of him I think of him destroying Jim Kelly when a teammate was returning an interception.
Guys got a question? Why Miami did not draft a tall wideout because we do not have a wideout like 6"3 or 6"4
If we don’t pick a time does that the farewell live has to be delayed resulting in Omar staying longer ?😂
Omar what about the Rutgers wr Carroo he was a horrible pick and CG traded up for him, Rice is a nice player but he's a luxury pick
Fark poupart, why so bitter?? this podcast is going nowhere when Omar leaves.
Poop I so disagree with u on Jaylan wright. Great pick for us. Will miss u Omar.
Haven’t watch these guys in a while and nothing has charged 😂✌️
Cool. Thanks for sharing that.
@@alldolphinspodcastget our y’all feelings
Wright's a good player but that was a luxury pick. BPA is fine but I don't like the trade up unless it's to address an area of need.
Is there any chance that Wright or 1 of the Washington receivers end up being the kick/punt returner? I feel like Berrios will be giving up the return duties next season.
I think I would have preferred a bigger RB that can pick up the short yardage. We were last or close to last in the league on 3rd and 4th and short.
Half of the time of the emission these two characters discuss useless information and technicalities and argue themselves about irrelevant issues. Very often they dispute each other only to prove that one of them is right regardless of the useless subject they're discussing.
Man Alain Poup'ing all over that 4th round pick haha! JK...good stuff guys..gonna miss this pair
They need a back who can move the pile for a yard or two OR an offensive line that can block for a yard or two when needed.
As of today, they have neither.
Brian Cox was an absolute badass! Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Hi I sent you an email about Kamara being from my hometown Newark, New Jersey.
Poupart is correct the RB pick is not a huge need you can make an argument they we need depth anywhere. Your worried about being 3 deep at rb when you aren’t even 1 deep at guard
Omar every player selected in the draft needs some sort of development no player is a finished product ready to go they need to work pad level fundamentals and technique
Malik Washington was a grad transfer. He says he has an Undergrad degree from NW and a grad degree from UVA.
Who should they have drafted to fix their problems, that wasn’t a reach…
Overall grade for the draft is a C. First 4 picks I give it a B+, last 3 picks D.
Hi guys do you think the fins are better or Worse with thé players they have this year in comparison to last year?
And when mostert gone maybe after this year or hhrt again ur solid not 1 trick pony
First… good luck 🍀 on future projects 👍
that virginia receiver has ball savvy like AJ
Man I’m going to miss this podcast
Poup forgot Mostert is oft injured and 32 yrs old
great job gentlemen, thank you !!
Jaylen Wright can be used as returner!
10:15 Omar, aren't you forgetting Austin Powers??
"He had the Midas touch, but he touched it too much, he's Goldmember! He's Goldmember!"
Please go over Un drafted Free agents and remaining veteran free agents
The Dolphins are great at deep passes, 15 yd in routes, and bubble screens. They struggle in that 1-10 yd area. I thought it was due a lack quickness and the ability to get open quickly by tes ands slots or the abilty to get yac when open. I thought Berrios would help but struggled to get open.
Waddle and Hill can get open whenever they want.
Not even one Guard drafted?
pathetic
They got at least 2 FA vets on the back burner and they'll add UDFA to compete
Not the same as young hungry much needed IOL. It’s like saying “look we got a new couch,” but you didn’t fix the hole in the roof first?
Freudian slip? Chop Harris.
Gonna have the teddy grahams out there at receiver
Maybe they use the guy for special teams
They drafted because of speed only
Dolphins tell us they draft best player available, and you two grade the draft against team needs. There seems to be a disconnect somewhere in this process.
Every team will say BPA when the reality is every team tries to marry the two.
I agree with Alain Poupart
That concerns about the left Tackle
The running game has always been the key factor of CHAMPIONSHIP WINNING 🐬 FOOTBALL.
The Dolphins have the four (MOSTERT, ACHANE, BROOKS & THE ROOK) horsemen to gallop us into a title.
He’s Mosert’s replacement in 2 years we could trade running backs like Andy Ried trades Qb’s. Dallas needs Rb’s
Why is omar leaving?
UVA fan here Malik is a ankle breaker
Bryan Cox is my all-time favorite dolphin, defensive player mercury morris on the old fence but I have a poster in my garage that says no through traffic with Brian Cox and when he was smashing his helmet against his head versus the bills it was unbelievable no pain they never show that highlight anywhere it’s the greatest thing ever. He faught Carwell Gardner every other game.
Beattie Feathers had a way better average yards per rush 9.9 if I recall than Achaine
Really going to miss this podcast.
As a UK fan I’ve never felt as knowledgeable about the ‘phins as I have done watching this past year or so.
We’re both still going to be podcasting. I’ll still be right here and Omar will be over at The Miami Herald.
@@alldolphinspodcast just give us a should we play ‘gain a yard, lose a tooth’ defence podcast before y’all split. 😂
With the Wright pick
First
Wright instant huge boost for short lardage at 210 pop blinders so bad sometime. Hes better than wilson brooks and salvon ffs this was great value and he can block run and catch jesus
Alain, have you found Omar's replacement yet? Can you disclose? Someone we know? Thanks.
Agree 💯 with Omar about Jaylen Wright. Dolphins need depth at running back and Wright has speed, toughness and durability. Mostert and Achane missed several key games last season. Great pick at 120.
I agree with Omar on RB pick. Stop worrying about giving up 3rd rounder next year when that is the rate one round higher than previous year. Also, we had RB injuries last year and keeping these guys fresh is a good idea. RB had great value right there before the run on them. OL had already been depleted. A lot better odds Wright makes a bigger impact then some 4th round lineman. He was on most people’s list as 2nd best RB in the class in the 4th round! AP too negative sometimes.
Dog and balls😂
Wait is this podcast done? Omar gone?
Podcast not done. Will look different starting middle of next week because, yes, Omar will be gone (to The Miami Herald).
6pm. And there's no way to work something out Omar? Even if it's on a part-time basis?
Running back wright is an excellent at short yardage and picking up the 3rd down yardage. As far as I know we need someone who can get us them short yardage 1st downs.
Drafting more running backs is like drafting Tua’s little brother.
