This thing looks like they forgot about the PSU and radiators when they were designing the case, then tacked on a few mounts because they weren't bothered to redesign it.
@Jokerhawk 1234 You would find the studs in the wall and install a couple anchors in them, then hang the case up to the anchor. It's definitely not going anywhere if you do that, but it's still a dumb idea never the less.
Brian, over at BPS Customs, is doing a pretty sweet custom loop build with one of these "cases" currently. It's turned out really good so far. I'm sure it's more the builder than the materials he's working with. He did have to modify one of the wing panels to mount an EK Quantum Kinetic FLT360 to get it to mount flush with the pump through the panel.
Just to note on wall mounting something that requires mains power. In most cases the electricians will install a power plug socket behind whatever is being wall mounted. Don't run power cables in walls, home owners insurance will not cover you if it catches fire.
@BT3Ks_P4F I'm in canada, the only electrical cable through the wall is the power cable of the tv, from the wall mount, 4ft in the wall to the power plug on the other side... I hope I won't have to hire an electrician just for this, even more so that it's about the same risk as hiding the cables behind a desk 😅
@@wisico640 I'm in USA. Check with your local power company / insurance. A fire in the wall is not as obvious as a fire under your desk. I would recommend using the hard plastic covers that tape to the wall, you can paint these the same colors as the wall so its not obvious.

Well... I've already bought and built my water cooled setup in this case, heheh. Very valid criticism I agree with here. It definitely is very very niche, I wanted an open setup that shows everthing off, but keeping the heat exhausting components away from the other components. I liked the wings for the dual radiators, and it works so well for cooling, but nothing crazier than a high air-flow case. Really hate the radiator grill pattern....I mean who is going to see that when it's behind fans and a radiator? Very pointless.
All they had to do was turn the power supply around and at least the air could have made it through. Still not ideal but it would at least have air flow lol
Just a small note: I think actually the closest competitor would be the Thermaltake Core P7, since it also has two wings which support up to 360 mm radiators and it's 200-300 bucks if I recall correctly
I can't believe neither Steve nor any other commenter pointed this out. I'd love to see if that case does it better in a comparison video because this concept is potentially cool if built well.
This reminded me a lot of the Feros VM-Rigid. I really wanted one, but unfortunately, they failed in their Kickstarter and went under before I even discovered it. I ended up going with a ThermalTake P5. (Also, now discontinued.)
@@btlei Only comes with one intake fan though, which might not be enough, not to mention the fan is black which doesn't suit the rest of the build and stands out in a bad way. kitted out with fans it seems like a great case though
It makes perfect sense if you plan on cooling your system with a room fan. Having prolonged the use of my P II with a PSU that had a failed fan by opening the side of the case and cooling it with a $10 fan. It was cheaper than a new PSU. Although that sneeze guard kind of gets in the way of that.
Cooler Master : Releases Thermaltake P7 type of case Thermaltake P7 : This looks like a job for m- Gamers Nexus : Thermaltake P3 is this ones serious competition. Thermaltake P7 : *Sad Thermaltake noises*
A jigsaw with a hacksaw blade would take care of that airflow issue on the sides. If Cooler Master offered optional wing sides with just mounting rails for radiators/fans would be better. It would certainly lighten the chassis considerably. I'm interested in how much it cost to paint and mod a $200.00 chassis
Considering the base being steel and the width definitely allowing stud mounting (16 in on center), you should be able to easily support whatever you want in terms of weight for wall mounting and not a measly 17kg/37 lbs. 2 Screws set in studs or even with the correct anchors you're talking about 50+ lbs of weight able to be mounted without any issue. I guess that it might be a limitation of their mounting setup, but a little bit of modding and good screw placement should alleviate any wall mounting problems you could imagine! Like you said though, they just did too much and did nothing great.
That bit when you were pointing the camera at a video made me freak out because I thought MY display was glitching out. Thanks for the almost heart attack. XD
I agreed with your assessment. Im curious if radiators were mounted with stand-offs like a rod coupling or something similar (this hardware could’ve been included). Basically If there was a gap behind the radiators mounted on the wings, if it would work that way.
Thermaltake makes a better version of this for wall display. The core p3 or p90 i think its called? Better is opinion of course but the package looks better to me at least.
I currently have this case wall mounted with a full custom loop. If you use a small form factor PSU you can mount it on the back even with the VESA mount. Air flow through my rads on the wings hasn't caused any problems (system sits around 22c and gets up to about 35-36c under load.... but I'm also not over clocking right now. Wire management is impossible with it though so thats about the only bad thing i have to say about it lol I got it mostly because I liked how it looked and it fit what I wanted. For the most part thought I'd go with the recommendation of just getting a case meant to be a case unless you're specifically looking for this.
I bought this as a replacement for my Obsidian 700D full-tower after watching several reviews (including this one) and I'm pretty happy with it despite the design issues. I have a Crosshair VIII Hero with a 5950X on a 360 AIO, MSI Ventus 3080ti OC, Seasonic PRIME 1300, NVMe drive, SSD, and 6 mechanical hard drives. 3 more fans on the other wing for extra air flow and symmetrical appearance. It's performing as well or better than the 700D did with way more fans and it's perfect for my setup on a custom corner shelf above a corner desk with 3 monitors. I'm happy, but I understand the deficits this case has and was willing to work with them. I hope to create a custom PETG loop soon and I'll probably modify the wings to reduce the airflow problems.
In many places in the US it is actually against code to run any power cords through the wall. you would have to run a new outlet up to where you wanted the power.... that's a lot of work for all this
My testbench is an Antec Skeleton (ATX version) with the top fan and front I/O assembly removed. Works shockingly well and indirectly supports SSI-EEB, but not that outrageous 10 PCIe slot formfactor called XL-ATX.
I feel like even just milling out the wings so the fan area is completely open would make this case overall way better for all use cases. Or at the very least cut out fan sized circles for each position. I would be interested in seeing a version 2 of this though, I like they are trying things again.
This was like watching a review of a train wreck that I just couldn't look away from. I'm somehow happy and sad that you managed to waste both mine and your time on doing this. I appreciate the effort but can't stop thinking that the time would be better spent elsewhere; maybe at home or tweeting from the toilet?
Since its VESA mount you can just mount it on an monitor arm on your desk (or wall for that matter ;), space should be available behind for cable management, provided the right mount.
Ever see that picture of 9 normal forks and one that is completely bent in every way? The image text is: "Just because you're different doesn't mean you're useful.".... And that's the short version of what this case is...
Sorry if it sounds nitpicky, but afaik 3,4mm isn't a sheet metal thickness, at least not a standard. It's highly likely just 3mm with a 0,15 mm ish powder coating on either side of the sheet. Otherwise really nice review :) Definitely a case to avoid. Personally I would like a Fractal design define 7 with a more open front to keep temperatures lower with an acceptable amount of noise.
Open frame, custom loop, wall hung PCs are always my favorite to build, but I think I'll stick with Thermaltake. I've been kinda cautious over trying this case, now I know I won't, at least until they do an update. Oh, and when you are doing a build like that, you should really get yourself some wire and molex pins and just make your own cables cut exactly to length. Extensions with the oem cables bunched up somewhere will look tacky.
I feel that if they had they made it from aluminum, not blocked the airflow with "pretty" designs on the radiator mounts, added the gpu mount, and potentially a legitimate wall mount that enclosed the psu, this would be a very different review
Really hard to find a case to make the PC a show piece and still protect it and it look cool! The P5 TGE come close but still have a lot of flaws like not having the glass at the bottom when using horizontal mode.
This makes me sad because I mostly enjoyed building a budget rig for my dad inside a CoolerMaster Q300L. It’s not godlike (obviously) but it’s actually a nice little box for the price and I was quite proud of how it turned out with a bunch of RGB components.
I would like to see some older cases in these comparison charts like the HAF X. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has stuck with older cases with side intake fans and have done mods for better cooling and would like to see how they measure up. I've been thinking for a while now I would like a new sexyer case and maybe doing a mod of drilling holes in the side glass panel and adding a 200mm or 140 NZXT AER F fan for GPU cooling. Back to the original point, some people might want to get a newer case but would rather not get a "hotter" case just to look better and be easier to work in and cable manage. Sorry for the long message and overall I love your videos they are indepth and your testing procedures are far above anything else I've found, thank you for all your hard work.
design team: "Remember those bi-fold foam presentation boards from elementary and middle school?" no one: Uhh, yeah I recall those. design team: "Lets turn that timeless design in to a PC case!" literally no one:
When I ran a wallmount TV to a shelf receiver I had to install a recessed outlet behind the TV, US code prohibits just running high voltage lines through a hole in the wall because of safety. Had to get CL2/3 rated cables for all the low voltage stuff too.
I plan on getting this case but I WILL be taking a grinder and cutting out the the radiator panels to open the airflow..being steel it will maintain plenty of rigidity after I cut out large rectangles for airflow...id only get this case if you plan on modding it and have a huge desk to put it on honestly.
I enjoy treating my workstation build as 'test bench' just by leaving the side panel off. Cools so much better. There's not enough open PC cases just yet but I suspect there will be many more as there hardly a good reason to box them in. It just increases the amount of airflow you need to cool your hardware. It's very easy to dust your PC with a vacuum and something like a makeup brush.
attach a color matched unistrut to the wall studs then use Vesa monitor hardware to hold the system to the unistrut. a simple wooden cleat system can do the job too, as long as you get serious support from wall studs.

Cooler Master : Releases Thermaltake P7 type of case
Thermaltake P7 : This looks like a job for m-
Gamers Nexus : Thermaltake P3 is this ones serious competition.
Looks like one of those t-shirt folders.
Thanks, I can’t unsee it.
Almost got me, I was hoping that GN case he made a video about a while ago was actually going to materialize.
This would make the perfect Cyberpunk case... It's just as big of a joke and overly designed without any thought of common sense.
And just as hallow and empty as the actual game
XD
I love my Core P3, and have no temptation to switch to this one. Wall mounted with a dual arm tv mount that's plenty beefy, makes it easy to work on.
Someone at Cooler Master is drinking a little too much of the thermal paste while designing cases
I agreed with your assessment. Im curious if radiators were mounted with stand-offs like a rod coupling or something similar (this hardware could’ve been included). Basically If there was a gap behind the radiators mounted on the wings, if it would work that way.
Man... I love the looks of that case! I totally imagine mounting that thing on my wall. So awesome!

Wire management is impossible with it though so thats about the only bad thing i have to say about it lol
I got it mostly because I liked how it looked and it fit what I wanted. For the most part thought I'd go with the recommendation of just getting a case meant to be a case unless you're specifically looking for this.
0:38 is that an aio with the block mounted on the ram? I'm so confused right now.
lol, just needed a radiator mounted for that shot!
Should've mounted it on the air cooler. How's that going to keep cool without a cooler for it?
@@dngerr lmao this is what I was missing this whole time. I should have been cooling my air cooler with an aio!
Asking the important questions
So basically, what you're saying is: this is an All-in-One that Does-it-All-Wrong
In many places in the US it is actually against code to run any power cords through the wall. you would have to run a new outlet up to where you wanted the power.... that's a lot of work for all this
"Your one off build in 3 years." Yeah...my last PC died after 8 years.
This thing _looks_ like it would be really cool as a wall-mount system, it's a *real* shame it falls so short of being functional as one.
MF700 sounds like a joke name.
‘Hey, what’s that new weird case from CoolerMaster called again?’
‘Uh, they named it the MF700.’
🤔🤨😆
My testbench is an Antec Skeleton (ATX version) with the top fan and front I/O assembly removed. Works shockingly well and indirectly supports SSI-EEB, but not that outrageous 10 PCIe slot formfactor called XL-ATX.
0:25 - just be careful lmao
I feel like even just milling out the wings so the fan area is completely open would make this case overall way better for all use cases. Or at the very least cut out fan sized circles for each position. I would be interested in seeing a version 2 of this though, I like they are trying things again.
This was like watching a review of a train wreck that I just couldn't look away from. I'm somehow happy and sad that you managed to waste both mine and your time on doing this.
I appreciate the effort but can't stop thinking that the time would be better spent elsewhere; maybe at home or tweeting from the toilet?
We'll take that as a compliment! Haha
Since its VESA mount you can just mount it on an monitor arm on your desk (or wall for that matter ;), space should be available behind for cable management, provided the right mount.
This isnt a case its art, its so hot right now - mugatu
Glad to see you are watercooling that RAM (0:38), it's very important to do so.
This is an actual bench as in for you to sit on lmao
Looking forward to seeing this in the 2021 Disappointments build.
Core P7 Wish Edition
Ever see that picture of 9 normal forks and one that is completely bent in every way? The image text is: "Just because you're different doesn't mean you're useful.".... And that's the short version of what this case is...
They should've seen where the market was going, cat based cases.
Steve, we may have never met, but you are my friend. The first beer will always be my treat.
Last time I was this early, You guys were doing a tour of the new office.
Also, GN case when?
Sorry if it sounds nitpicky, but afaik 3,4mm isn't a sheet metal thickness, at least not a standard.
It's highly likely just 3mm with a 0,15 mm ish powder coating on either side of the sheet.
Otherwise really nice review :)
Definitely a case to avoid.
Steve+Case+Review
Pack it up boys, time to break out the popcorn!
Most cases looks childish in other forms like piramids and cubes!
Sorry for the long message and overall I love your videos they are indepth and your testing procedures are far above anything else I've found, thank you for all your hard work.
design team: "Remember those bi-fold foam presentation boards from elementary and middle school?"
no one: Uhh, yeah I recall those.
design team: "Lets turn that timeless design in to a PC case!"
literally no one:
CM: It's a nice day for a fishing, ain't it? Huhhea!
GN: Imma deck you in the schnoz!
I, too, love pointing fans at a wall for bonus points. Second to installing a closed loop with no waterblocks.
So it looks cooler than it actually is, not much surprise there.
the
When I ran a wallmount TV to a shelf receiver I had to install a recessed outlet behind the TV, US code prohibits just running high voltage lines through a hole in the wall because of safety. Had to get CL2/3 rated cables for all the low voltage stuff too.
"Fans poiting to the wall as a bonus points" almost killed me LOOOOOOOOOOL
"Cooler Master, what the f....no, don't you look away. Look at me. Because I honestly want to know. Cooler Master, what the fuck is this?"
I'm eagerly waiting for the MOBO box benchmarks!
It's very easy to dust your PC with a vacuum and something like a makeup brush.
i have the p3 wall mounted ... this case would not be my choice but its good to see that we even are treated with a bit more choice
attach a color matched unistrut to the wall studs then use Vesa monitor hardware to hold the system to the unistrut. a simple wooden cleat system can do the job too, as long as you get serious support from wall studs.
