It's not often I'd say Ben Affleck was made for a role but I think he was with this. Both him and Rosamund Pike were perfect casting.
That's Fincher for you. He really knows his shit when it comes to movies and actors.
Maybe because he looks like Scott Peterson. The story was going that way for a while and then twisted 180 degrees.

Agreed. I have rarely liked Affleck but he and Pike are perfectly cast. Everybody is perfectly cast. This is a movie that belongs to the director. This requires craft. To make a story like that. To pay attention to even small things.
Rosamund Pike nailed that creepy, sexy, mysterious American accent.
It's just a neutral American accent, the least mysterious kind there is.

This is most definitely the best movie I have seen this year, and Rosamund Pike was mind blowingly good. I will be shocked it she doesn't get an Oscar nomination.

Rosamund Pike was FANTASTIC. I was so impressed; I'm usually less than thrilled when seeing an adaptation of a novel onscreen, but Rosamund blew me away. I couldn't believe how convincing and frightening she was. Her eyes alone...MY GOD.
I can't wait to see her in more movies, and I hope she gets praise for the role. Also, thank you to Gillian Flynn for writing such a creative and cringe-worthy novel.

This movie was AWESOME! I love Rosamund Pike she is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!!
The best part of this movie is how they cut it in half wiht a single line "I am so much happier now that i'm dead " - it give me chills evrytime like the most genius scripting ever. So succinct and effective.
Whenever I see that person acting in other films now I will still see her as that crazy character
That means she did her part perfect ! When the audience carries her character with them back home after watching the movie, thats the biggest award for an actor.
Such a brilliant film. About 40 minutes before it ended, my theater's screen and audio went out, so it allowed us time to talk about what we thought was going on in the story. It actually turned into a convenient positive since the film is so long. Wonderful adaption, even if the book is slightly better. The novel isn't very different, but the narratives make it just as compelling.

Well after so many rehearsals and fake sex scenes she of course went to the real stuff later....
She scares the literal hell out of me. Man this film was hard for me to watch, films like that are often the best because they provoke a lot of emotion out of the audience.

Everyone's talking about Rosamund Pike in the comments but I was gladly surprised at how well Ben Affleck did considering how much flak he gets.
Trogdor8freebird honestly, I hope he gets away from Batman. I don't want to see his career sink from superhero movies. IMO the last superhero movie worth anything worth any care was the dark knight rises.

Such a great movie! Gillian Flynn is a great writer and I didn't even read her book, but can tell by the movie. Wonderful script and story! David is definitely a great director to pick to adapt your books.

This movie had me sucked in all the way through I will admit it. Fantastic screenplay, acting, shots, music, sound, I could go on. Wow.

awesome director, brilliant man, I very much enjoyed it when he said he believes actors contribute equally as him. All the people, involved in the movie work together as an orchestra, everyone is highly significant.

this movie surprised me actually... was expecting a rather trilling drama movie(since i did not read the novel) BUT it's more than that actually... don't really quite know about Rosamund Pike's work as an actress but she most definitely nailed her part as Amy Dunne.... i'ma give this movie 4.5/5... gonna watch it again though whenever it comes out in blu-ray.. and yeah, personally, I DO NOT want my relationship to be that f'd up... and i sure ain't gonna mess with a chick like Amy, too clever for my own wrong-doings.. :p

Yes! It's like, when they steal her money, it starts to feel surreal, then at the guys house, a bit weird, and she just sets up his murder...hm ok...comes home, full of blood, and the police find no holes in her story...like what? And it ends...it feels so surreal, and you start to think the whole movie was surreal, like a dream, as if it's GONE...hence the title...
ferise1 it's like the husband's cheating on her let her into plotting all those situations to get back to him but at the same time, she got too engrossed and hellbent on getting back to him that her mind became uncontrollable.. though she seems to have control of things when she plots those situations... like i said, i ain't wanna be cheating on a girl like her.. too clever for my own wrong doings.. :p
man, i'm gonna watch it again via Blu-Ray(or download lol)
In coming back to this story reading the book now and id like to watch the movie again. Pike was amazing

This is another example of Fincher as one of the best directors in the industry. All of his movies are thought provoking. This movie has added to the man hate that has been going on lately.

Its kind of funny to see Ben Affleck speak about media cultural representations of marriage considering the personal issues he's working out in his marital life right now. I wonder if the irony of making this movie at this point in his life has dawned upon him.
When he filmef this movie, was already dealing with his marital problems, that was always there throughout his marriage.He had to get married in a hurry in a short time due Garner's 4 month pregnancy and not because he truly wanted to marry her. Shortly after this movie they announced their divorce.

one of the most underrated movie of all time!!! so intense. The women is crazy. She did a great job. Ben was Surprisingly great in this movie. and finch was on the money with the writing anddirecting.

the film is very specific all to me. it will s about my struggle with a man who defies the ordinary usual conventions of a romantic relationship. probably becayse we know we are not right FIR each other but we live together until basucally I can somehow find Mr the guy FIR ME. in the process if I could find actual friends that could be great for NE also...at one point I did entertain the romantic notion of Ben Affleck...but he married Jennifer Lopez or they got engaged I think. I still like Ben but not romantically. that could always change..I am.just trying hard to get it right and find someone special for me. I really enjoyed the film Nd felt it was a sort of homage to my life's main problems for the past 20 years or so. I am grateful to the actors who made the film.

Why is it so fun to adore and quote the ass off of Walter White, the Joker, Hannibal Lecter, Michael Corleone, Tyler Durden, Alex DeLarge and so many others, but it's "descusting" to relate to Amy Dunne, such a complex, well written character?

Not to be rude but was Rosamund pregnant? She looked it in scenes sort of when they showed her stomach but not in others and in this interview she looks a lil round bellied etc.

A truly dire film that is far, far, too long - It becomes a comedy in the end, and then it just stops for no reason. It is quite obvious there is 'more to the story than we first think' (a 'surprise' that's just not surprising), but then it just goes on and on...telling us how many days have passed and reminding us of how long we have to wait until we can see the credits. Don't bother, you've seen it all before.
