May Angela Lansbury, an absolute goddess of the theatre, film, and television world RIP. She'll definitely be loved by generations of posterity, and part of why I think Beauty and the Beast, Mame, and Sweeney Todd will forever remain iconic is because of how she infused life and a comical nature to all three roles she's played, especially Mrs. Lovett. I still remember almost crying when the news of her tragic passing broke last year just the day after Canadian Thanksgiving here.
@@anapaulamiranda5893 which I vividly remember. That unmistakably charismatic character voice was one of many highlights for me with the original Beauyt and the Beast film.
When I was 16 I had front row center to see Angela Lansbury in Sweeney Todd. She put a SPELL on me!!! I have loved her for more than half my life!! I met her 3 times and always the gracious beauty of a lady!! She may be gone, but her voice I hear everyday!! Thank you!!
When the trailers appeared they used her narration and upon reading that it was to be heard in the show it was wonderful, a tribute to David Ogden Stiers, how different this feels knowing this was her last contribution to Theatre.
Interesting update to the prologue. Definitely far less pyrotechnics than the original. Didn't the enchantress throw a fireball at the prince to transform him into the Beast? I love Angela's take on this opener. It's a great homage to David Ogden Stiers. Hopefully, if this transfers to Broadway, Angela's narration will be used.
The coolest effect ever!!! I loved they still used the same actor playing The Beast at the top instead of an Ensemble member playing the Young Prince having to cope with the pyro, run off in 2 seconds, and then The Beast takes over.
0:18- Oh, Alan Vaytsman, I thought of something: As soon as Garderobe is about to sing “Oh, how divine”, the prince points, and says, “Out”, and the music stops. Silence, then… Garderobe gives up, “Oh, boy…” and Cadenza says, “Last one here’s gotta sing for his Highness.” and one by one the guests leave. Cogsworth and Lumiere are the only two left, and they do a rock paper scissors, but Lumiere does this: ONE, TWO, it’s up to you. Cogsworth is left alone, and pretends to crunch an apple as he leaves.
He will be ready to take you to a meeting and help us plan to plan a night for next week and we plan on Sunday next mama will help help with her plan next Saturday night or Friday night Saturday Saturday night night or evening evening or Sunday evening Saturday
Oh stop it. Are you really going to drink up all the sensationalism? Can you even name just one Disney film with a trans character? Stop consuming right-wing sensationalism. Don’t be a sheep.
the division of disney that does theatre is pretty rigorous in the original material. they rarely do any revisions. as far as i know, the only revision they've done after premiere to a show's material was changing a song from the mary poppins play due to it being too scary for children. edit: this version has no utensils surprisingly as they're replaced with tap dancers on be our guest.

Nothing can compare with the original animated feature. I thought stage production wilted in light of the original. Sorry.
this is not the original stage production. the broadway one is more breathtaking
How many of the utensils are Trans? It's Disney, ya know?
